  • Not gonna lie.. The thumbnail creeps me the fuck out.

  • only half?

  • dont worry ana ;) you got a nice bod

  • Of course America will always be quite obese, unless somebody bans all this junk food, but you guys will ALWAYS be ignorant. Later haters :)

  • You guys are dumb. Alot of Americans can excersize, but ancient humans, Americans probably, had trouble finding food long time ago, so it was a priority to eat fat and sugar and such. It's still in our traits, but know when we have grocery stores we can get all the fat we want even though we don't need it we crave fat sugar and salt. Can't be helped. And those of you who say ALL Americans are fat, it depends on the person. Stereotypical people.. Smh :/

  • Half of the time Americans spend watching TV could be spent exercising.

  • I didn't even watch the video and I can give you an answer.

Dear Americans: the reason because you are fat is because you are stupid enough to eat some much trash food like that.

    Sincerely, a healthy non-american person.

  • Ana's wrong here: Cutting 500 cals is pretty easy. The best way to do it is to drink only water. People don't realize how many liquid calories they consume per day. Second: we don't need a nationwide policy/education on obesity because its all about whether the person involved actually wants to put the work in. If they don't you'll never fix the problem. I'm as big a lib as Cenk is, but obesity is a lifestyle choice 90% of the time. The rest is the people who actually do have metabolic issues.

  • the American diet is NOTHING like what our ancestors ate. We don't even eat "real food" anymore, just processed, dead, reconstituted garbage.

We should eat nothing but raw fruit, veggies, nuts, & a little meat. Learn about human anatomy & physiology, and it's plain too see what we're MEANT to eat. It's not rocket science. Exercise is a big part of it too, but you can exercise all you want and still eat crap, and your insides will look like shit. Our bodies didn't evolve on Big Macs

  • i have an hour commute to a 50+ hour a week job, still go to the gym every morning for about an hour.

  • Im a student...very busy..i used to b fat..but guess wat..i grew a brain n realised being fat is killing me..no policy can save stupidity..americans r just fucking lazy..there r healthier snacks RIGHT THERE..apple slices..carrot pieces..bt they dun choose it..not my fucking fault..n i dont want my parents tax money spent on helping stupid fat people.

  • I think Cenk has a point with the quality of food and also quantity of food in America. Im from Montreal and am blessed to have some very good restaurants and places to eat out. The problem though in the end isn't restaurants and fast food. We let fast food companies become so big by funding them and buying their food. We must learn to stop eating out and pack a lunch or eat at home; it will help our diet and our wallets.

  • of cooooouurse

  • @guitarcar911 Cenk has gone "of cooooooourse" about 160 million times in his life

  • americans are fatties. hahahaha

  • Retards need to monitor their calorie intake. Drinking 1 less soda per day for a year will be 14 less pounds you must work off. Since most Americans are lazy, retarded fucks, it might be necessary to stop drinking any soda, and stop eating so many chips.

Oh wait, I forgot, its their genes and not the shit they eat.

  • America should enforce a strict calorie rationing for all americans base on age and income level. The richer you are the more allowance you get. That way poor people won't be so fucking fat.

  • not only overweight but obese thats really messed up and sad

  • hahaha i laughed so hard xD

  • Dammit Ana, you have NO idea what you're talking about, you're talking broscience!!!!

It's VERY simple, and the most extensive study on fat loss proved it (for the millionth time):

Calories consumed - Calories burned = Calories earned/lost. There are many other factors ofc, but adding them makes the calculations insanely complex for no reason.

A 0-500kcal deficit/day leads to steady, healthy fat loss. You can eat your normal calories & just cardio away 0-500kcal & voila! You'll loose fat!

  • why is anyone suprized by this ?

  • "Average shape"?

Ana, you're selling yourself short. You're in terrific shape :)

But what do you have against carrots?

They're delicious and crunchy when fresh.

Sure, they're disgusting and mushy when BOILED, but when fresh they are awesome.

You can have 'em whole, you can slice 'em, dice 'em, grate 'em, etc. Good stuff.

  • Instead of getting a bag of candy, get some plums.

Instead of a chocolate bar, get a carrot.

Fresh veggies and fruit do serve as good snacks.

  • lol but Ana it REALLY REALLY couldn't be about you lol .. trust me ... i mean it .... couldn't be about you cos .. oh well .. even if you become obese you'd still be really really ... ummm .. you know ... :P

  • We'll all be 300lbs of AWESOME

  • Soylent green.

  • What's wrong with carrots?

  • What the hell, Ana? Carrots are awesome!

  • @ToyletGnome No apples are

  • @mrspazshot Touche.

  • @ToyletGnome RAWR

  • Yeah Ana is taking this way too personally....eat natural food as often as possible, small meals but short times between each, with some minimal exercise will totally take care of most obesity issues. Ana is a little meaty yeah but nothing wrong with that, far from obese even if she lets it go a little for 10 years. Most obese ppl do zero exercise and just sit at home all day long while eating the worst food choices, I know, a few really big ppl in my family.

  • Calories in < calories out. I know you need a balanced diet and healthy food etc, etc, but that caloric intake and expenditure should be the first thing you look at, not blaming it on something else.

  • Eat real food, avoid food-like substances, ie: almost anything in a package.

  • Individual solutions to public health problems always fail. Public solutions to public problems.

  • I think we're simply over worked and don't have a balance lifestyle. During my co op term, i started to realize this. I worked out daily after a work out but after my job and the gym, my day would be over and only get 6 hrs of sleep on avg. Now imagining that I had kids, I simply have NO TIME to take care of myself. Hence, I think its not as simple as saying we need to eat healthier although I think its the largest contributory factor.

  • Ana's making excuses. The UK didn't have this problem 20/30 years when I was a kid. I was surprised when I first went to the US to see the amount of very fat people & we're now getting the same problem here. Some people do have slow metabolisms or tend to be bigger than average, but that doesn't lead to actual obesity- which is a different thing. Obesity is created by way too much bad food & a serious lack of exercise. It then pro'ly becomes a psychological problem too. It's that simple.

  • Cenk just spent all that time saying his friend had a PhD, and how his way of simplifying it was to say "shut your mouth", and then INSTANTLY Ana says the guy with the PhD is wrong. You're not listening Ana!!

  • America suffers from over population and obesity. If ever there was a time and place to drop the gay bomb...

  • losing weight is easy. get off your ass fatty

  • Ha, this one is hilarious! I need to get on that exercise regimen!

  • I agree with Anna

  • God damn exercise people!!! PERIOD!!!

  • Sick of people bitchin' about weight.

Eat veggies, fruit, some nuts, and chicken for dinner.

Then run every other day. Done. You won't become obese.

Boil carrots if you don't like em raw (as i do).

It's not expensive to eat healthy either. People have no excuse, other than a health problem..

  • I'd like a quadruple whopper with extra cheese and bacon

  • i can never relate for i eat like a pig but i dont freakin gain weight

  • People are stressed out. People are working 2 jobs nowadays&have families. How are they suppose to find time to exercise and cook healthy? Fortunately I work 1 job&finish work around 3. So i have time to eat right and exercise. But I don't know how long that will last in this economy.

processed foods are dirt cheap.healthy foods are expensive.

FDA should force food companies to stop putting crap in their food. there is no reason why things like high fructose corn syrup needs to be in food.

  • @rania3830 typical cop out. Unless you work every moment of your life every every hour then there should be no excuse. It takes only 30 min of cardio on a treadmill or running outside 5 days a week to stay healthy and if you couple that with clean eating you can lose weight as well. If you are tired from working and use that time to rest and watch TV well thats where will power comes into play and you put your health above your relaxation. Yes it might be hard but life is hard simple fact.

  • @imboardnotstupid

my friend it's not that easy. i have an aunt who has 6 kids works all the time. she's basically the sole provider because their father doesn't support them. she tries to get as much exercise in but between work and taking care of her kids it's hard enough for her to get even 10 minutes to herself let alone 30 minutes.

i agree that people should try and squeeze in time. but it's not that simple for some people.

  • @rania3830 I understand that my mom is the same way. If you don't have time for exercise its understandable but eating less and eating healthier can still drop those pounds, exercising just makes it quicker. If you don't have time to exercise eat less or eat healthier in other words there should be no excuse. Its understandable if you have a disease that prevents you from losing weight but other then that theres no excuse except will power.

  • @rania3830 That sucks. But what the fuck did she have 6 kids with a deadbeat dad for? Did she not learn after 5. People like are fuckin hopeless. I know that sounds cold hearted.

  • @MrSockoOck

he wasn't a deadbeat when she met him. he turned out that way.

  • @rania3830 And this BS about healthy food being expensive. True if you buy health foods from stores like "whole foods" but you can get a bag of talipia fish fillets that are EXYREMELY healthy for you from a simple grocery store. If you can buy rice and bread you can substitute that for brown bread and brown rice the cost is extremely minimal compared to the white versions. Eggs are cheap also and instead eat the white part. If you buy milk you can switch it for skim milk. Its the same cost.

  • Ana really wants that treadmill desk lol

  • Cenk,

Your belt was feeling lose because you stretched the hell out of it.

  • haha. She's a very grown up adult. But here, Anna's exhibiting a typical youngster's behaviour of a girl in her 20's.

By the way. It isn't hard to keep in shape. It just takes discipline. That's all.

  • Ana's really cutting the fatties too much slack.

  • I think Ana's suffering from "Obitchity' about this issue!!

  • carrots are disgusting? how.

  • Maybe by 2030, things will be different and somehow there won't be any fat people on earth.

  • It sounds like Ana is very self conscience

  • the fatter we get, the more we have to have to drink to want to fuck each other, but the alcohol will in turn make us fatter... it is a vicious cycle

  • @yay78900

    lol'd

    tis true.

  • Good thing I have a fast metabolism. I can eat a whole cake and nothing will happen. :)

  • high fructose corn syrup should be banned

  • I wonder if there's a connection between obese people and the overly stressed middle class, I'm almost willing to bet that more than 70 percent are either middle class to poor, or came from that environment, it's STRESS, that's why people are fat and the poor and lower middle class are constantly stressed, it's just my theory though, people just need to literally learn to treat others right and live a balanced life in order to obtain a healthy life.

  • @odom602

Exactly! most of the people suffering from obesity in this country are the working class. Americans are over worked. We work more hours than any other industrialized country in the west. In northern Europe people work less hours and have more healthcare benefits and their obesity rates are low. They are not stressing out on how they are going to pay for their medical bills. Their country takes care of them well.

  • As a fat individual I can say its hard for people to lose weight. I know the reason for me is because i've been fat since a young age, and its hard to change habits. Its not as easy as some of you may think.

  • I absolutely do not ever accept obesity!

    No excuses!

The fatty food industry wants us to be lazy & fat instead of beautiful & Fit!

Exercise, weight-train, eat many small healthy portions through-out the day, & be active. I do, & I want you to do, too.

  • @Vote4Nava ok we do it together

  • Lol,I usually concur with TYT but Anna you should keep to politics and areas you understand.Nutrition and physical exercise is something that is at best vague to you. There is no way a person that cuts 500 cals a day is going not to loose weight. The thing is that people lie themselves and are not consistent. Also if you apply a real diet from a certified nutritionist you can loose 2 lbs a week.Diets from magazines are poorly constructed by people that usually don't have a proper education.

  • Used to weigh 232. Two years later I weigh 176. Small changes to your habits over a long time are the key to victory. Our immediate gratification is making us fat too.

  • we should increase the number of people on food stamps and increase the amount of money they receive. i bet that would solve the problem.

  • Anna really needs to calm down. Metabolism actually doesn't vary much from person to person, a "fat person"'s metabolism actually works HARDER than a skinny person cuz they eat more and also because they have larger body mass. A "faster" acting metabolism is a myth. ppl say they try EVERYTHING and dont get skinny, but as soon as they get a gastric bipass, they get skinny. -_- i wonder why. honestly, its not that difficult to eat healthy. the rest of the world does it.

  • @darkprincess1012

actually a larger people burn more calories during a 30 minute workout than a thinner person. That's why when a 300lb person starts working they do maybe 10-20 minutes and lose weight. But as they get thinner they have increase their exercise time to burn more calories.

As i was losing weight i had to keep increasing my exercise as i lost more pounds.

  • I feel like Ana is going a little overboard. Eat mostly vegetables, lean meats, no soda, and exercise 3 times a week. If everyone did that obesity would drop dramatically, imo.

  • @ig249 yeah shes a fatass

  • @ig249

    That's a fact, friend.

  • @ig249 healthy food is expensive tho. that's why you see a lot of overweight people on welfare

  • @LisaSnicket Sure, totally agree. If you're poor, you also probably can't afford a gym membership and running sneakers. I'm just saying that Ana makes it sound like the hardest thing ever to not be obese. Sure, it's extremely difficult to have a "perfect" body, 1% body fat, six pack abs, etc. But obesity is another story.

  • @ig249 i'm not talking about working out. i'm poor and i can easily walk outside as a way of working out. but healthy food is more expensive for someone who doesnt have a lot of money. and the food doesnt last long. i'm poor and the only way i'm able to lose weight for now is to control my portions. it's hard to break out of being obese if you grew up eating this way cuz of bad parenting :[

  • @LisaSnicket

Wake up early on the weekend and go to a local farmer's market. You'll get a box of cheap local produce.

As for the healthy food = expensive food, that is total crap. If you spend your money carefully, you can pick up cheap vegetables and fruit easily. Bulk whole grain rice or potatoes is dirt cheap compared to buying salt covered french fries. Canned vegetables are dirt cheap and have damn near the same nutritional value as their fresh counterparts. People just love excuses

  • @iankchisholm i come from a fat family and i can tell you that you know nothing about what healthy food is. if you did you would never suggest canned ''healthy'' foods. canned veggies and fruits are terrible and loaded with salt and sugar. they are empty calories. you probably think ramon noodles are good for you too. people like you are fucking retards and should bud out of other people's lives. i'm so done with your ignorance. Goodbye :)

  • @LisaSnicket

you're from a fat family because your family doesn't know how to eat healthy foods or when to stop. habits are taught to their children... and what do we have here!

    keep hiding behind excuses.

  • @ig249

    Exactly.

It's not that hard to be fit. When she went on a rant about office jobs etc I raged so hard. Ride a freaking bike... that'll give you two solid workouts per day!

  • Comment removed

  • I couldn't stop laughing throughout this video!

  • i agree except for what anna, said my friend id a vegan cyclist who eats very nautral and good food (and yes he has a high protein diet of nuts, beans, ect.) he does exercise about two hours every other day, even if he didnt exercise he'd be in perfect shape (and he has a completley normal metabolism)

  • Ana is perfect Cenk is a bit ... well lets say... chubby!

  • There are NO OBESE PEOPLE CURRENTLY ALIVE IN ZIMBABWE & SOMALIA - FACT!

Doesn't that PROVE that it's not what you eat....IT'S HOW FUCKING MUCH WE CRAM INTO OUR MOUTHS!

    END.

  • @12235117657598502586 People don't count calories, they eat until they feel sated. Foods have widely varying satiety response. The satiety response is delayed by quite some time, if you eat too fast you'll eat too much.

One mechanism is inflation of the stomach; you want some low calory density foods like vegetables to slow down the meal and provide bulk. Several others rely on chemical mechanisms; fat is pretty good at producing satiety and you shouldn't carefully exclude all fat from cooking.

  • it doesn't matter what you eat. its portion control and EXERCISE!!! stop fatting my country!

  • I used an app to keep count of what I ate. I lived on 1200 calories per day for 6 weeks. I lost 7 lbs. And I didn't really exercise more, took a half hour brisk walk every other day. I did it by eating low calories high satiation food such as squashes and lots and lots of vegetables. And there's plenty of yummy vegetables. I didn't really cut out meat and I ate what i wanted just less of it. drank more water to feel fuller. With the right education and some guidance everyone can do this.

  • You look great, Ana. Your weight appears to be between 118 and 123, on the verge of below average BMI. Calm down...

  • Comment removed

  • ate a burger while watching this

  • Here's the thing, the scale shows that if you are 150 pounds or over, you are considered obese. Maybe studies are saying everyone will be obese just by the pounds scale? If so, that shouldn't be considered obese at all. Many people are born with thick bones and genetics (big hips, butt, breasts, arms, etc)..so it's never good losing so much weight to slim down..because it's not meant for your body.

  • fatty fatty, fat fat!

Oh and Ana is busted from the waist down!

  • Ana is mad at facts, lol. xfD

  • Ok, having lived in both nations for extensive time frames, I'd say 50% are obese in UK while 64% are in US. Simply an opinion of course.

However, I would not blame McDonalds & co, or any food for that matter. People in UK eat often while those in US do the same but on bigger rations. Weight should be an individual responsibility. Don't eat too much, better yet watch what you eat.

  • "Staying in average shape is so unbelievably difficult." No it's not...

  • @drkwhy9 It's really not difficult at all. not sure how it's hard for some people.

  • Most people DO consume more food than necessary OR do things like not eat breakfast and eat lunch at noon...If they ate dinner at 7, they just went without eating for 17 hours...No wonder their bodies store the fat.

It's easy to stay fit. Just eat healthy, eat when your hungry, and watch your portion size. Drink plenty of water, eat breakfast(!) and find simple solutions that involve you being active everyday...example: taking the stairs...pacing while brushing your teeth. Health should be #1!

  • Haha Ana "Treadmill Desk".

  • the statistic used to be that 1/3 of americans are overweight. the statistic now is that 1/3 of americans are OBESE.

    projections, anyone?

  • Damn, they are talking about obesity like it's a epidemic!

  • Families on a budget stock their freezers up with processed food, because its cheep and stuffed with preservatives.

    Organic food isn't cheap.

A small portion of organic food generally has the same amount of nutrition and slow releasing energy (complexed carbs) as 3 portions of processed food.

Besides, our governments want the stupid uneducated people to get sick, because stupid people fund the military.

  • 1lb per week = 52lbs in one year... calm down Ana

  • @m1st3rlak3 you're forgetting that in America, people don't have the patience to wait a year for results. they want everything fast and easy.

  • @Cuddlebunzzzz that remark was so on point that it's sad

  • Ate some pizza while watching this.

  • @Nielsen700 Shut-up. No you didn't. You're not funny and no one pays attention to you in real life.

  • @xCaptainHerox Wrong on all counts there friend. You seem like a cool guy though. Everyones gotta love you.

  • Jeez Ana really takes this to heart..... then at 5:45 she says "carrots are disgusting"?! A most basic food stuff. I wonder what else she finds 'disgusting'? Broccoli?!

Really opened my mind to the problem. You start to think that the situation is harder than it is until you here people say something as absurd as that. Carrots are a BASIC BASIC BASIC raw food stuff. OFFCOURSE!!!!!!!!!!!! you are in trouble if you find such a BASIC BASIC (should be part of 30%+ dinner) vegetable 'disgusting'

  • Step 1: Choke down nasty salads: Check

    Step 2: Run a 5-minute mile 3-4 times a day: Check

Step 3: Walk 5 miles every day: Check

Step 4: Weight train every day: Check

    Step 5: Avoid junkfood: Check

Step 6: Still be a fatass because life is goddamn unfair: Check

Step 7: Try to ignore all the idiots telling me that I'm just making excuses or lying about my eating/exercise habits: FUCK OFF

Step 8: Get diagnosed with hyperplastic obesity: Check

Step 9: Suicide: Pending.... (JK :P)

  • The reason why some peole eat well, do excersice and dont lose weight is because they make muscle that replaces the fat and weighs more. And sometimes people think they are overwheight when they really just have muscle and bone weight, the best way to see how healthy you are is to see what % of your body is fat.

  • No one has ever become obese buy eating fruit and veg. Put the burger down and go for a walk.

  • @biain93 If it were that simple, NO ONE would be fat. :P

  • @Godbreaker15 It does once it riches a critical mass.

For an example Aids; in certain parts of Africa means the average age is ~14 there is almost no labour available to grow the economy. Growth is killed of before it even begins. If you don't have Aids, which statically most do not , Aids still MASSIVELY affects your life and regulations on contraception from the government would be welcome by anybody with any sense at all.

  • Ana is suddenly a fat apologist now?

Anyway, if you eliminate refined grain and sugars then teach people how to integrate some semblance of fitness into their lifestyle, this will not be a problem period.

People need to reexamine their definition of the word 'hard' in the context of eating well. Sure eating primarily fresh foods is 'harder' than just opening a bag of chips and shoveling them in your face, but it's still not hard, especially considering how important it is to one's health.

  • Pixar must be psychic, because Wall-E is becoming true!!!

  • Don't tax the rich, tax the fat :)

  • Natural selection has caused genes responsible for withholding fats more common in humans. As Hunter-Gatherers we faced a time of feast and famine between kills. Those with the ability to consume and retain most fat from feasting would ahve greater chances to survive through the famine to the next feast. There was a great doc o n it by BBC.Its in the genes, but working out can control it. There is no magic pill solution.

  • @sushanalone While I don't disagree with that, I think that puts too fine a point on it. Some people will misinterpret that to believe they have no choice.

All life faces pressure for food. All animals if given the chance will over eat. What needs to be said to people more than anything is that these tendencies can be changed by habit. There are large differences in obesity between countries that have the same cheap food and the same genetic stock.

  • don't get an office job

  • Yes, don't eat processed foods. That'll keep you thin, while you're eating 10 tons of food a week, as long as it's all natural you won't get fat.. You've gotta be fucking kidding me.

  • Ana`s an idiot. 500 calories is do able, stop bitching. Cut down 250 calories by eating and then do some cardio for 15 - 30 minutes which burns 250 calories. There you go your down 500. Not that fucking hard unless your a fat lazy piece of shit.

  • Ummmmm, it will be worst that that. The middle class and the poor cant afford healthy food. Sad that the healthy food is the most expensivle..... $6 for McDonalds or be a smart shopper and locating the healthy food which cost much more?

  • Errr... Why was it worth mentioning that he ate carrots? Seriously?

  • An average full time job is what, about 8 hours? And you need another 8 hours of sleep a day. Give yourself 3 hours(me personally, 1 hour) in total time to prepare food. You have FIVE HOURS left in your day to go jogging at least 30min-hr, and do whatever it is you need to do. This includes sitting on your ass! The problem is, people sit on their ass for 5 hours...

Preparing your own food is also waaaay cheaper. If you're gonna eat fast food, you should minimize it to once or twice a week.

  • @totalminus forgot to add in travel time..haha subtract an hour :)

  • @totalminus What I like to do is prepare my food for the whole week on Sunday. I have mini-frig just for these meals, to keep them out of the rest of the family's frig. It only takes about 3hours to cook everything.

I mostly eat beans and other legumes with lean meats. Low fat, moderate carbohydrates, high protein. Its worked greatly for me. To cut down further on my bodyfat percentage.

  • People also shouldn't go by weight, just by Bodyfat Percentage.

I had a doctor tell me once, without looking at me that I was obese just becuase they saw on the chart I was three hundred pounds and that she estimated me to be over 37% bodyfat.

I laughed in her face, took off my shirt said where's it hiding. I'm not ripped like a pro bodybuilder but I had her do a body fat percentage test and it estimated me down to 15-19%.

So, track your progress by bodyfat percentage not weight.

  • @Geylgamesh

I see what you mean. I was 165 pounds and out of shape about 3 months ago. Today, I'm still the exact same weight but built with lean muscle and way less bodyfat.

  • @totalminus And the problem is most people pay attention to the weight and not the fat percentage and how they feel. They get discourage when they don't see the numbers dropping on the scale(sometimes going up due to muscle density increases due to exercise).

And I'm glad to hear you've had great success with your changes, just keep on it and never look back.

  • You know, its also about how you spread out your food in meals.

I eat 7times a day. 6meals and a light snack at night. I divide the calories between these eating times so that I only eat as much as my body can burn, also eating m ore often but in small servings speeds up your metabolism.

Another thing you can on top of this is a take a quick 20-30minute walk in morning before you go to work short after your breakfast meal.

This also boosts your metabolism for the rest of the day.

  • 1 pound a week is great; that's 50 pounds a year!

  • Getting in shape is hard, but absolutely worth it. Most people just don't know what to do, or don't have the motivation to commit to a healthier lifestyle.

  • Maybe a quarter of fat people of some good reason or excuse to be overweight. Sure some people have genetics/ whatever reason for being fat, but 75% don't really have an excuse.

  • Stop drinking Coke in gallons...

  • @ThatLonelyLoner Mostly right, except the modern medical literature shows that it has little if anything to do with calories. That's mostly a myth based on the lipid hypothesis.

It has far more to do with what we eat, rather then how much.

Namely carbohydrates, which are not native to the human diet, being consumed in far excess.

That and all the surgery junk we eat.

  • We need to make a fat tax. Tax people based on how overweight they are.

  • @cornllama2 tax the people for whom the society is working, not the people for whom the society is failing. It is bad enough that fat people will live shorter lives, they don't need to be punished on top of that. ps. I'm 6-2 and 210 lbs. I could stand to lose weight, but am pretty fit.

  • @HeronimousPhunk It encourages fitness.

  • @cornllama2 It punishes people already suffering. Its like putting drug addicts in jail. This does nothing to address the problem of drug addiction. If being healthy and living longer doesn't encourage fitness why would more expensive food?

  • Cenk ate carrots! Thumbs up for him guys!

  • Ana is 100% wrong on this. It is very easy to stay healthy in today's world. But nobody bothers. Too much effort and $.

    1. eat tons of fruits & veggies every day

    2. lean meat only, no fast food, limit take out

    3. get soda, chips, & candy out of the house

    4. avoid corn syrup/sugar, hydrogenated oils

    5. eat organic to avoid pesticides+antibiotics

No need to cut calories. No need to go to the gym. All it takes is a healthy diet so you eat the way we ate 100 years ago.

  • @dmcarefuldriver You are one of the few here with the correct approach. All those still adhering to a calorie excess/deficit model are defending an out dated idea equivalent to electrons orbiting the nucleus. It's was a simple model but doesn't hold up to clinical study as evidenced by an ever increasing weight problem we see with the 'western/processed' diet along side an overall reduction in fat intake, boom in fitness centers and mass marketing of 'low fat' pseudo food. • That should be Cenk's slogan if he's running for President, "I EAT CARROTS!"

  • Cenk, Come on, I remember reading a few books were humans had to survive dinosaurs. "and lo, the DNA had been reclaimed from the 'squito within amber."

  • Remove all the processed food isles in grocery stores and close all fast food restaurants and our problem is solved.

  • The sad thing is that most people don't have to eat less, they just have to eat healthier. Go for a walk or a jog.

Unfortunately there is a lot of unhealthy food and it is cheaper and easy. Cut down on it gradually. (you don't have to give it up.)

Buy some rice, meat, vegetables, and seasoning, cook it, It is cheap, easy, and only takes like 20 minutes.

You don't have to starve to lose weight, you don't. I am student with no money. Eat canned fruit for snacks. Cheap, easy, and healthy.

  • @danteslight con't

Also, try to do something fun for exercise, you don't have to go running, or do push ups or an exercise bike.

Find that boring? Try sports, kayaking, or sign up for martial arts.

Have more sex, it burns a lot of calories too.

Most people do have time to do something like this at least twice a week. While that is not ideal, it is better than doing nothing and will help you get into the groove of things and want to do more.

You don't have to become a vegan workout freak

  • All of us fat asses in the USA are going to knock the earth off it's axis, and cause the earth to wobble as it rotates.

  • how about you everyone stops eating mcdicks and sonics everyday and cook some HEALTHY food from HOME. even if you dont lose any weight and remain "bigger" at least your arteries wont be clogged with burger grease and you'll definately feel better without having to lose any weight. here In Canada there are very few people you see that are obese and are gross to look at and were attached to these fat asses and have just as many fast food places, so Americans have NO excuse

  • Lol amazing how hard it is for North Americans in general but the rest of world is like "-_-"?!? I'm Canadian it's amazing how all the people I know with "poor" genetics yet eat mainly fast food and do fuck all, all day long. Fucking weird!!!!

  • The problem is there's a bad stigma attached to exercising and eating healthy, exercise can be fun and eating healthy doesn't have to be expensive and tasteless!

  • The problem lies in the grasp that big pharma has on our food industry. Of course we're going to be obese...they're purposely making us sick with franken-foods so that we can spend money on medications to relieve the symptoms. Homework assignment: research how many Monsanto big wigs now sit in congress.

  • @jtho155 Finally a wise being that sees the (obvious) connection between the junk food industry and the medicine industry!

  • A pound a week is very significant! That's 50 pounds in a year. More important than that serious sum is that if you can sustain that kind of slow steady weight loss it will be based on a significant increase in fitness. The challenge is to remain fit, to remain physically vibrant. Stop crying and find a boyfriend who can help you sexercise. it part of a healthy lifestyle!
