i was sitting behind the photographers at this fence and one showed me the pictures he took right before her fall. over the very first duck dobbin jumped huge, which put her off balance and unsettled her, but she managed to hang on. but given that she was already unsettled between jumping over the next two ducks and her tack breaking she came off. it didn't have anything to do with her speed or her approach or riding ability, she simply had some bad luck.
@flyforevercardinal I always wondered why the hell she fell of here, i've watched it sooo many times and have never been able to figure it out. I had NO CLUE that her tack broke XD
In order to come even close to the optimum time, you have to haul ass. I am not a good enough rider to judge somebody at her level, but she looks fine to me, just a weird accident. I'm glad she and dobbin came out of it okay though.
I was at the event when this happened, did see the full round. Speed is necessary- that is why they called the second day of the three-day event "speed and endurance day". None of us ride at the CCI**** level. We shouldn't be talking badly about someone elses riding here. That always upsets me. We all fall. We all make mistakes. We all love our horses. Just watch the videos and stop judging people!
No I didn't watch her full round but do I need to? It's not necessary to watch the whole round for someone to see what is going on in this combination. You sound dumb.
acctually, if you watched the pace of the riders that went clear and safe, and compared it to hers, you could see that she was going way to fast, esspcially to a water jump!
im sorry to say that you are wrong. 1. I saw ahe was't going to fast. 2.Its crosscountry its alittle thing we like to call "you have to go fast" and 3. you don't know everything. Trust me im almost done my training for XC. my trainer theached me everything.
yea, and I am an eventer, and groom for eventers. I would know how a cross country round is. If you watched her, compared to others, she was aproching jumps to fast in my opnion.
Yeah, you don't event like these people...you NEED speed in higher levels like this to even make it over these jumps. Speed and power. And honestly, what does speed have to do with her falling off...? She got left behind because her horse mi stepped, or caught of guard. And you or me or other people are not to talk about her fall, only she will know what truly happened.
I know, and speed has everything to do with it! If your horse is going to fast, it can't judge distance right, therfore jumped early, making her not get in her correct position. and watch other rounds from this day, people were not going as fast as her and made a perfect clear round
yea. Good eventer go fast. Plus good eventing horses go fast. You see yea you might groom lower levels of eventing but the thing is higher eveters like here have two thing most inportant in cross country. 1. getting over the jumps 2. getting over the jumps at a great time. trust me my trainer is in the high levels like this. I help her at the shows. Like making sure her horse is groomed.
the speed for Rolex is 570 mpm & I'm pretty damn sure she wasn't going faster than that. her horse looked balanced & good going to the first 2 duck things, he just left out a stride, it happens, & as an event rider, you of all people should know that sometimes the spot we see & the spot the horse sees is different & sometimes the horse will go for the spot he sees which is appears to be what happened. plus she didn't get a DR card so obviously the TD & jury didn't think it was too fast.
guys, its called she got left behind. Look at her on her lest duck in the water, she got left behind. No way was she going to fast. I was there, watching it, she was at a GOOD speed. She got left behind, lost her balance and fell. I was there watching in person. She was going at a good speed.
Cross country is based on time. you have to go fast. and it wasnt that she couldnt control him, it was that she got left behind and wasnt ready for the second jump. it had nothing to do with the fact that she was going to fast.
that doesnt matter if your an event rider. She is way higher in eventing then you, shes know a shit load more the you, if she thought she was going to fast and wasnt going to able to make this, she would of slowed down. So be quite and leave it along. You're not the rider, you don't know her, nor talk to her, so you don't know the realy story. So what if she was going to fast, its XC your supposed. So really shut it, and let it go.
not she wasnt going to fast there was on stride left to get to the duck. the horse just took off early and she got unseated.
and why are you critisizing someone who is competing at this level??
so what if you grrom eventers i am a grrom for someone who does precinct george in dressage but i dont go on dressage videos and say that are doing everything wrong do i.
i love your videos but i hate when ppl do cross country riding espcially when they both fall and then they just get right back on the horse and they dont even check out the horse
love your horses thoug i think that you are an amazing jumper!!
Yeah, its scary when they fall and dont check anything on the horse. Like theres this on horse that was at the rolex and the rider hadnt noticed till this line that her horses leg was bleeding, but there were only 2 more jumps left. But yeah.
Aww thank-you :)! i don't own any of them, i just ride them !
it is Corinne Ashton and Dobbin- I have still photos of this from the other side and I looked up the number- she was 47- you can check it out on the Rolex website.
she got left before the jump. the horse took the really long spot and she got unbalanced. that was the girl who's tack broke and her saddle slid. she had no way of staying on.
haha ya i was thinking that too:p i guess she jsust got left behind, and got unbalaned or something and just slid off, but i dont understand how she would seeing she slid off pretty slow...:\
Oops, took a big spot. Did the stirrup leather break?
