  • nah. sorry, this isnt plagiarism

  • I wanna fuck that mustache

  • Look at Chris Martin he is truly magical

    Lol! XD

  • sorry, but the similarities are so small. there are so many other songs where the melodies are similar, and with so many songs and melodies already written over hundreds of years it is almost certain that more and more melodies will become more and more similar to older songs. this is a shame, of course, but you cannot accuse coldplay (of which i am not even a fan) of 'stealing' an entire song. maybe 1 or 2 bars of melody are similar, but the songs are completely individual in their own right.

  • Well, I'd have to say, if it is a ripoff, at least it's more original than Vanilla Ice's ripoff.

  • i fucking love this

  • Somehow i like this MUCH more.... UUgggghhh if only i wrote those songs....

  • son bandas qe ni dios conoce

  • Creaky Boards are great. They got two albums, check'm out

  • All Coldplay fans chill down. There is NO fucking way anybody can deny the similarities in the tune. Big deal, Chris Martin stole a bit of this tune, so what ? Coldplay have been known to steal bits and pieces from here and there, not that I'm condoning it, but they turn them into unmistakably original tunes, thats the point. Look at Oasis, they rip off bits and pieces too, but they are completely open about it. The thing that irks me is that Coldplay denied this.

  • Coldplay was in London during this performance and had already written Viva La Vida. This appears to be just an unfortunate coincidence and I am sorry that you felt the need to try to discredit such a successful group.

  • Hummm looks like somebody has a lot of free time jajaja

  • whats funny is that joe satriani sued coldplay for stealing the song from him. he won. fuck coldplay.

  • The song is literallycalled the songs I DIDNT write :D hahah!(:

  • this song cannot even compare to viva la vida , no lyrical similarities nowhere near the musical flow and feel of viva la vida , this band should commit suicide because of how shitty their music is

  • @someguyonline666 The melody is strikingly similar though. Give it up.

  • Sorry man...your song cannot be compared to Viva: it's much worse. I here a few bits of melody that are like Coldplay's song, but it's not enough to be even close to plagiarism. Also...why is the sound quality so bad here? You'd think a musician would know how to make sure the audio stream isn't so shitty.

  • *facepalms*

    Nobody stole anything

there may be a bajillion different musical combinations of notes, but its not that unlikely that 2 (or 3) sound similiar

  • having gasses come out of the pelvic area in the Coldplay video was bad design.

  • sounds nothing like viva la vida, there's only a zilion of songs so it's kinda hard to never sound like someone else. cause 5 notes are about similar doesn't mean it's stolen from another "song" (creakyboards you can't sing fir sh*t)

  • Actually, both you AND Coldplay stole it from Schmoyoho!

  • ... um yeah... coldplay had already recorded a demo of Viva La Vida before you first announced your version of the song.... AND chris sang it WAAAY better sweetie!!!... You might want to get you FACTS right before you go ACCUSING people of somthing they didn't do... ESPICALLY IF THEY SUNG IT BETTER! :) No offense or anything..... :)

  • Michael Gregory pwns you. And his song is better. What kind of dick just straight up steals music and then has a pissy fit about somebody else stealing from you. If I were you, I'd just stfu and appreciate the irony karma bitch-slapped you with.

  • Good, video, alhpugh i didn't see some similitud, in the beggining yes, but after is change totally.

  • this guy really has the gall to suggest that his song should be on an itunes commercial? haha, grow up little boy. coldplay is 100 times more succesful then you ever will be

  • I think that Coldplay must have heard the Satch's song sometime in their life. Whether they deliberately copied it or subconsciously, we'll never know.

  • Pinche ridiculo con su bigote falso valla y chingue a su madre nada que ver su cancion toda pinche fea con viva la vida pinche mamon estupido.

  • "Oh my god, oh my god!" yeahh that was really gay

  • IF you wrote this melody and similar sounding song before coldplay came out with viva la vida then you weren't smart enough to get it copyrighted before posting it somewhere that they could hypothetically "take your idea" from. so this is either a really bad joke or you just got screwed and can't prove it. either way neither situations are that interesting because they happen all the time. move on!

  • There are twelve musical notes.... it's not identical just a bit similar, could very easily be a coincidence.

  • This is so damn lame!

  • michael gregory wrote the first version you'll see the video if you look up michael gregory+coldplay+creaky boards

  • That mustache is incredibly distracting.

    And sexy.

  • i didn't think they sounded that alike?? :/

  • Do 1,500 people really not get that this is a joke?!

  • You suck and you are ugly. Stupid plagiarist. Get some talent and write your own song.

  • YOU SUCK. You and ur band will never be famous. Coldplay is 44390493849083498340834085083902805484259859843958594859 times better, YOU SUCK.

  • @MackieBoyPT neither of them made the song...michael did

  • @beany4000999 You know that video was a joke.

  • Coldplay front man Chris Martin admitted in an interview with rolling stone, "We are not great song writers, we are just great plagiarists". This is not the first time they have been accused of stealing music too btw. I like Creaky Boards version of this song better anyway, Coldplay sucks balls.

  • YOU SING BAD MAN,COLDPLAY IS THE BEST!

  • your song its stupid,COLDPLAY IS THE BEST!

  • seriously tho , how many songs are out there, 2 are bound to sound firmiliar =\

  • yeah theres a good reason viva la vida was a lot more succesful.

  • chris martin grew a moustache

  • funny that joe satriani made his song first... i guess this guy stole first

  • completely different

  • As far as I can tell the only real difference is that the Coldplay version is actually good.

  • Wake up people.

The vocal rhythm in the two songs is different. The vocal melody in the two songs is completely different.

There are two notes that sound the same in each song. If you think that the vocal lines are identical then you need to give your ears a good clean.

  • All you people having a go at creaky boards! They dont even play anymore and andrew and darwin are now in a Freaking AMAZING band called Darwin Deez with there own music that hasnt been stolen yet. So shh ;)

  • @likeastarbaby HAHAHA. Listen to it. Again. You are right, there are millions of artists. And songs. This band ,"Creaky Boards", wrote one. And somehow, Chris Martin of Coldplay wrote a song with the same melody. And the same vocal melody. He just added an orcheastra, and some new lyrics. This is so open-and-shut its pathetic.

  • hahahaaaaa what a douchebag, well done on getting the attention you desperately wanted.

  • THIS IS PURE THEFT. IM SORRY TO SAY THIS. Its one thing for the musical melody to match, but THE ENTIRE VOCAL MELODY TOO? come on ppl, this is fuckin ridiculous. i always think that when ppl make these accusations, if the feeling of the 2 songs are different, its ok, because songs can share chords/progressions.

BUT CHRIS MARTIN REPLACES THIS MAN'S WORDS WITH HIS OWN. ITS SICK.

  • @melodicdreams88 THERE ARE MILLIONS OF ARTISTS CURRENTLY ON THE PLANET. this is some unknown american band. how on gods earth would coldplay have even heard his music, LET ALONE STOLEN IT. aswell as millions of artists in the world there are BILLIONS of songs, what are the odds that 2 are going to be vaguely familiar?why would coldplay steal this anyway? they can make up their own songs perfectly well, and seeing as this song isnt very popular why would they WANT to steal it, lol

  • well chris' voice is better than yours and i like his version of "your melody" a whole lot better. so i dont really give a shit

  • all i know is they stole the song from michael gregory. so serves them right that cold play made more money from it. ahaha long live the gregory brothers learn how to write you own song andrew

  • Let me add that I think it's possible that the likes of Satriani and others could have heard the cat Stevens song, as I stumbled onto this chord progression and similar melody on my own, so i thought. I was a big Cat Stevens fan, and I realized I probably heard it before. It is really what you do with it to diversify. The more interesting thing is your lyrics for the bridge, that is just down right creepy, tapping into god consciousness a little bit. Clairvoyant, some music shamanism going on

  • I like your song the best, but I doubt even the Cat Stevens version is all that original. There is only so many ways to go, I think artist tend pick out the same melodies that stand out when contrasted against certain chord progressions. Almost every song I've written sounds like another song in the first few years I started writing. It occurred to me that it was me. I think no one stole it from anyone. I think it's just a low level melody, that beginners a like can stumble onto on their own.

  • I prefer your version.

  • Oh yeah, nice job retracting your allegations, btw this video comes off as extraordinarily pretentious, regardless of allegations, the way you wrote what you did is just wrong. Your song is pretty catchy though...oh wait, I said it before, Cat Stevens

  • These songs are very, very different. The coldplay version only shares like, one note! Now, one, the Coldplay song finished production before this one, and two, both song either stole from Satriani, Verdes, or Cat Stevens, which were published from latest to earliest in that order. As far as I'm concerned, everyone hears music, Cat Stevens is fucking HUGE, and everyone stole it from him some way or another. These guys are just okay btw, Coldplay shit's on them all day long

  • You deserve your shit to be stolen if you can't manage a decent audio quality. Sounds like mice dying every 5s...

  • Coldplay are shit. That's called theft by the way.

  • get over it, coldplay is better anyway.

  • Freddie Mercury has returned!!

  • darwin deez!

  • ok so your voice dips down a bit as does the lead singer's for coldplay, but then it goes up and his doesn't. i mean it's similar for like a second, but so are millions of songs.

  • @Ising4u93 I agree. And I like the Coldplay version better any way.

  • The ironic mustache is irritating

  • well if ur gonna make this claim then Joe Satriani can claim that YOU stole his idea as he did Coldplay. so if ur saying u wrote this melody before Coldplay, but Joe Satriani had this melody way back in 2002, then we can all say YOU stole Joe Satriani's melody. anyways, i don't think Coldplay stole anything. i think all of u guys just coincidentally had the same idea without being an influence to another. it happens u know.

  • Coldplay is the best ever !!!

  • Similar at best... still Viva la vida kicks this songs ass.

  • I agree Michael Gregorys was better.

  • 1:50 for those who didn't get this was a joke.

  • i like michaels better much much better

  • lol the songs aren't THAT similar and i bet the creaky boards got alot off attention now from this whole affair.

  • coldplay lolz...totally ripped radioheads entire show. and cant bother to pay these poor dudes for writing this song. hope the poor dudes get paid.

  • @abramasada How stupid can you get. Coldplay is NOTHING like Radiohead.

  • Similar, but not more than a million other songs.

  • i like creaky boards version more, coldplay turned it all synthetic and crappy...

  • Who cares. This Creaky Boards song is utter trash... so they should stfu!

  • yeah, they are so many notes you can play on a keyboard, guitar, drums, bass, etc...but there a billions and billions of ways to arrange them together differently. If you honestly can't believe that this was stolen then I suggest you get a reality check. And if you think you wrote something that sounded similar, then I suggest you realize the odds of two different bands writing the same song (not even possible).

  • they sound similar, but live with it, there's only 7 notes on a keyboard, and no matter what order you play them in, you'll get something that might sound similar to someone else. music isn't new people, it dates thousands of years. a lot of songs carry the EXACT same melody but with sometime different lyrics, time signature or different key. if they have a lawsuit about this, it'll get thrown away because its just ridiculous! lol.

  • @mikemacjunkie1 12 notes

  • @jordanhawkey12 whatever lol. i play everything by ear. a lot better then reading music imo. it makes it a lot more challenging at time to find the right chord, but its fun to figure things out by yourself then just read someone else's interpretation.

  • Both songs are generic pop songs in their melody. I'll be honest and say I've written a song that sounds like that too....as did Vivaldi almost 300 years ago.

The chord and melody structure of both songs have been used for centuries......and certainly in today's pop world, you can spot incarnations of that structure in 100s of songs.

  • This isn't really close except for like one line of the verse. The tones take too totally different paths. there are similarities like in old songs to new songs but wow, the lyrics are totally different expect for the pitch in one of the verse progressions.

  • This all doesn't matter, because Coldplay ripped Viva La Vida from Joe Satriani. His song came out long before either of these.

  • @diriven yeah 2004!

  • @BigBoss1819 Exactly, ha 4 years is a pretty long time :p

  • What the hell?! What kind of world do we live in when people aren't afraid to steal from a man with a mustache. I think the problem was Andrew didn't have that mustache when Coldplay stole it, because if they did Chris Martin would have been terrified of the stache and wouldn't have done it.

  • >: ( You didn't write it, Micheal did! :P

  • Coldplay had a released a demo of Viva La Vida in March 2007, that "show" was in October 2007 dumb asses

  • @chapintex1 Buut, micheal wrote his in 2006.

  • @Lh932 are you really this stupid or do you just play stupid on the internet? This video is a "spoof". Coldplay was charged with plagirizing joe satriani's song, "If I Could Fly". Joe won and coldplay paid him an unknown amount of money to settle out of court. Joe gave the money to one of the charitys he's involved with.

  • What a jealous dick. And his mustache is ridiculous.

  • sibilance...

  • No one probably copied anyone, it's just generic.

  • Thief. And I'm not talking about Coldplay.

  • Hide your kids, hide your wife, and hide your husband too cuz they're copying errbody out there.

  • You're a fucking idiot.... Cold Play didn't steel anything. Viva La Vida sounds nthing like this RUBISH!!!!

  • @boss5468 you sound retarded

they were even sued for palarigrisim you moron

  • @11joshman 1st off. I wasen't addressing you so Mind your own business. 2nd Coldplay was NOT sued by Creaky Boards, this Idiot songwriter for the band was trying to get publicity, he later retracted his accusations. It was later found out that Chris Martin had recorded a demo for Viva La Vida a year before this song was even released. So before you try to argue about topics you know nothing about, do some research, otherwise it makes you look a Jack Ass!

  • I lol'd. Chill out people. Art is all about being influenced and ripping off of other artists.

    So chiiiiiilllllll.

  • omg, get over it, how many people have ever heard of this band?

how many have heard of Coldplay?

I personally like coldplay's song better, and if anyone thinks that the people who did this are actually upset over artistic integrity, your wrong, they wanted money, Mullah, Denaro, they did this as a publicity stunt.

  • @bobthecrushr dickcheese

  • @bobthecrushr Not to be picky, but it's dinero. You kids today and your hooked on fonix spelling style...

  • @jenwa02 ....I thought I'd probably miss-spelled it

  • @jenwa02 I also hate to be picky, but since you set the tone...it's phonics, not fonix, or phoenix. Probably shouldn't be calling the kettle black when you're the pot!!!

  • Coldplay ripped off the music from a shitty PSone game made in 2002. Sven-Goran Eriksson's World Challenge to be exact.

  • @danegel Tell me more! Is the gameplay+ingame song available anywhere?

  • Yes, if a crappy mobile phone recording counts. Let me load up...

  • that darwin deez in creaky boards?

  • No Creaky Boards copied Joe Satriani

  • the intelligence of the youtube community amazes me

  • Michael Gregory made you who you are you douche. Now stop playing this song unless you give Michael the royalties he so rightfully deserves.

  • Coldplay and Viva La Vida are still better

  • Michael's version is the best of the 3

  • @StatusEffect Easily.

  • the correct definition of irony lolololololololol

  • you stole this from Michael Gregory and you know it!

  • u didnt write this song u fucking asshole.

  • WOW to the people talking about Michael Gregory.

He did not write this song, it was a joke.

The video was meant to be funny. As in a spoof of this one.

  • @try2stalkme ye but he sings it better lol.

  • @try2stalkme and 28 other people didn't actually read the narration that went with the Gregory video.

  • @try2stalkme ..... I think we all get that

  • Fuck cold play im jewish u wanna fucking conquer jerusalem wit christian soldeirs u can do it over my dead body

  • @1997sinner you are a fucking retard you know that? you do realize how stupid it is to not like a song because its talking about something that happened about a thousand years ago that had absolutely NO affect on you? are you really that stupid or are you trying to act stupid for attention? besides, the crusades didn't really affect the jews as much as it did christians and muslims. get a life

  • Comment removed

  • @abhorsen29 You are completely ignorant. You do know that the Crusades were about the "Holy Land", which the Jews and Muslims alike fought for passionately.

First Crusade: Persecution of Jews in France and Germany

Second Crusade: Persecution of Jews in France

Third Crusade: Severe Persecution of Jews from Phillip August

The Jews fought side by side with Muslims to defend the Holy Land.....

Or is hiding in a Synagogue and having it burned down over your head your idea of not affected?

  • Michael Gregory is the one who really got burned. Screw Creaky Boards and screw Coldplay.

  • @shibbyguy420 Michaels video was a joke, idiot.

  • FUCK...YOU!

  • coldplay is amazing, creaky boards is okay, that wasn't chris martin he lives in london, and ive seen tons of people who look like him.

  • coldplay song has MUCH BETTER and intelligent lyrics...yours is stupid...

  • Lol creaky boards suck anyway, they probably won't get that far as a band. =P

  • you ruined Michael. fuck you to put it lightly

  • @metlheaddrummr It was fake. Both of them posted videos exactly like each other. This video was posted before Michael's video by a couple days but they are exactly the same and Andrew is in one of Michael's recent videos which means that even if it was real, they got over it. But the fact is that it was basically a publicity stunt.

  • his teeth look like shit

  • I personally don't see the similarity in the melodies at all... Sure the chord sequence is the same but I could name probably hundreds of popular songs that go C D G Em all popular music uses the same basic chord structures... the fact of the matter is with the incredibly limited number of notes in western music things are going to sound similar by coincidence. Thats what this is - similar, not the same.

  • Go see: Coldplay VS. Joe Satriani

  • bueno si coldplay copio tu cancion realmente te la mejoro eh deberias agradecerles.

  • YOU SUCK.... chris martin had a demo for Viva La Vida before your dates listed.... ... Go Fuck yourself....

  • what the fuck?!!! there is no similarity at alll this is just a publicity stunt, go get a life you retards

  • Jesus, if people really believe this to be plagiarism, im speechless. I cant tell a similarity between the two, but i can find a difference; Viva la vida is 10x better.
