Haven't heard a Korngold piece yet that was not memorable. I think he is more in his element when just a tade conservative. Just a little though.

I love this concerto, but I find it really funny at 5:00 cause the conductor looks like he is trying to fly away. Haha. :)

you don't see this piece done in concert often--that is really too bad. the second movement, which is actually a development of a them from one of my favorite korngold scores 'elizabeth and essex' is particularly gorgeous!

that was truly splendid. The piece is so unique, the chord structure, the scales, the rhythm, everything!!!! The player as well performed beautifully, you can see pure emotion radiating from her playing and from her own self. Truly magnificent! By the way, does anyone know the title of the movie this was originally in?
