  • Thumbs up for nice music :D

  • Yeh don't make fun out of my religion

  • sahihai

  • lol wtf is wrong with you pakistanis? Who cares if its indian or paki. fuck you both. Believe it or not, both languages are very similar. Hindi has more words from sanskrit and urdu has more words from persian. So fucking what? You guys need to calm the fuck down and just enjoy. These India-Pakistan arguments are pointless and quite juvenile.

  • @Thelosttraveller1 shut up about my country pak you idiot

  • See my uploads, i have the original music video of this song and its a Pakistani song by Pakistani singer!

  • u stole my samsung mobile from select citywalk 3 years back. i had dis in my mobile, return back the mobile else i'll complain to police and dox u

  • ignore this wozulponz guy he is some indian twat who poses as muslim kashmiri just to create animosity

u will see his comments on many other videos and he always tries to create trouble between pakistani and indian brothers n sisters

  • as a muslim it saddens me that the dumbest most ignorant posts generally belong to fellow muslims.

urdu is NOT RELATED TO ARABIC. its a hindi dialect with heavy influence from farsi and chughatai turkic. needless to say the arabic vocabulary is coming from farsi -- another indo-european language -- which is why neither iranians nor indians utilize the 'ayn (ع) or properly pronounce the Ha (ح) as opposed to H (ه).

Arabic, Hebrew, Ethiopian Amharic = Semitic

    Urdu, Farsi, Hindi = indoeuropean

  • And .....Likewise hinid is a Sanskritization of persian and arabic too, yet distinctly a different language. NO stupid hindi bird brain, I too am from India they do not call Urdu hindi in India... and rightly too, as they are two distintly different languages with similar common words in between them.

  • I think the stupid guy with the Phd, should gracefully give back his fake linguistic PHD wherever he got it from, There is a huge differrence between Urdu and Hindi, the pronunciation of the words are different, the very enunciation of the words are different, the script is different, persianisation like you say in half correct.

  • but... this isnt tom and jerry??

  • ...........ummmmm, that's not Tom!!!!!

  • Thank you for specifying that you have a PhD. They way you write I thought that you have sixth grade level education.

  • I hate the person who created this video. That is why all this problem is caused!!!

  • How cute

  • hahahahaha

  • I hate it when people do this.

This is an Urdu song, a Pakistani guy names Rahim Shah sings it. A lot of people don't realize the difference between hindi and urdu, especially mainstream bollywood movies. people say 'oh what nice lyrics, hindi is such a beautiful language' IT'S ALL IN FREAKIN URDU IGNORANT PEOPLE!

  • @MrsGreenlime Thank you so much for saying that!

And despite what people think, Bollywood movies are in Hindustani, not Hindi. That's why it sounds so much like Urdu. d:

  • Last time I checked, Bollywood is a nickname for the INDIAN movie industry.

And in INDIA, we speak HINDI. You can go and get your knickers in a twist about it, but that's what it is. Deal with it.

  • So what...that's a dumb argument. In America, people speak English. There's Hollywood but there are still movies made in other languages.

I have a lot of Indian friends who don't really understand Bollywood movies and read the tranlation. guess why? because it's not Hindi. It's urdu. The languages are A BIT similar but theres still a major difference

  • Major difference, my arse!

I have a PhD in Linguistics from SOAS, Univ. of London .. & a low-IQ character like you has the chutzpah to teach me about language classification?

Spoken Urdu is not grammatically nor etymologically different from Hindi, but merely a Persianised register of the Hindi dialect continuum. In India, this entire dialect cluster is called Hindi, and rightly so.

Bollywood is not fixated over any single Hindi dialect. Dialects change depending on the location shown.

  • Hey WozulPonz,

    Thanks for this valuable information!

I hope, it will shut up those people who always cry over Hindi Urdu issue.

Moreover, whenver any text ( e.g. letter, notice etc) is shown in Bollywood movies, Devnagri script ( or English) is used ( although some rare exceptions may be there).

  • @WozulPonz Hi! I was looking at SOAS just the other day. I was thinking about going there some day.

  • @WozulPonz Good point. But I wonder how accurate it would be to call the language spoken back then as Hindi. By 'back then' I mean the time when Urdu first made an appearance in the sub-continent. Would it not be more accurate to classify it as Prakrit? I may be completely wrong but I would just like some clarification.

  • @WozulPonz you are an ass. We speak this language and live in this culture therefore we hold a superior expertise than your foreign phd. Urdu is far more superior and plished language than hindi. Its sad that our goverment intentionally imposes hindi on us through bollywood especially after mid 70s ( as they associate urdu with muslims) Take any bollywood movie before 1975 you will see the difference.

  • @WozulPonz Agreed!

  • @WozulPonz

more tha 50% of urdu and hindi's vocabulary is diffirent so urdu is not a dialect of hindi. urdu has equal contributions from farsi, arabic, and turkish. the word "kismet" is from turkish, the word "khuda" is from farsi, the word "ikhlaaq" is from arabic, the word "kya" is from hindi.

easy man, chill, urdu was also born in northern india under the muslim empire. hindi and urdu are both subcontinent languaged

urdu it can be argued is a language of a the muslims of the subcontinent .

  • To the bird brain, please get your IQ re-evaluated without bribing someone this time. Are you sure

Your brain is not full of the stuff your arse just dished out?. Linguistic my arse. The sound variations between Hindi and urdu are distinctily different, the script and meaniing of majority of the words are different. Some common usage words are simmilar, but it does end there. Pronounce "khafila" in hindi.....its kaafila. And its not k aahn its a KHAN ... if you can understand the difference.

  • @lakerbud

actually the arabic KHA (خ) does not exist in the turco-mongol languages so therefor KHAN is meant to be pronounced closer to K'AAN or C'AAN. i doubt most pakis/afghans were aware when adopting this title.

and a quick history lesson zaban-e-urdu (lit. language of DELHI) is nothing more than the khariboli dialect of hindi. modern day hindi was sanskritized in 1950 but previously urdu was recognized (and to a certain extent still is) as the most expressive dialect of hindi.

  • @WozulPonz wrong. The original Hindustani language was spoken by the mughals and it contained many Arabic and Farsi and Chagatai Uyghuric words. Indians sanskritized it on purpose to make Hindi so urdu is actually the modern Hindustani language.

  • yea its true ...hindi is something else...and thats not tom dude not tom :)

  • That's not Tom, dumbass.

  • Its weirdddddddd!!

  • It is not Hindi it is Urdu.

  • is there any major difference but the alphabet and a few arabic words in the latter?

  • Actually yea. Arabic n Urdu are quite different. True that we share some common alphabets, and the script like many semitic languages. But the grammar, words, usage, pronounciation r all diff.

  • ok, wasn't urdu a language tought in india?...i no bollywood songs aren't sung in urdu (im assuming it's bollywood because that's the only thing i no besides hollywood), but that doesn't mean u gotta get racial (Honeywords: What a display of POOR G/knowledge by Indians )

  • urdu's roots lie in Pakistan. Pakistan is one of the birth places of proto-Asio-Aryan languages. urdu's root languages trace back to Pakistan.

So in that sense Urdu is not really indiginious to india at all just as Turkish is not really indiginious to Turkey it traces it's roots to the Altay mountains in mongolia.

  • as i know from the internet, indians and pakistanis ultimately decend from indoiranian people that used to live between ukraine and kazakhstan maybe 2000BC until they went down to india maybe round 1200BC and mixed with the indigenous people there. That's why indian people are so different, some are very dark and some are almost white.

  • But many Indian people are natives [dravidians]who got pushed out by the Aryans who later came in [as you said ,from Ukraine and Kazakhstan but a long time BEFORE 2000 BC ].The period when the Aryan people came in and settled down is called the Vedic age .

  • Yes, you're right, Dravidian peoples are native to Indian subcontinent. And perhaps it was before 2000 BC, I'm not sure, but I heard that it was not earlier than 3000 BC than the indoeuropean community split up.

And by the way, Veda (knowledge) in Sankrit = Wiedza (pron. vee-ad-sar) in Polish. Despite 3000 years of isolation - still similar.

  • Pakistan wasn't even a country until 1947!

  • India wasn't a country until 1947 either! It was millions of different indepdent countries. SO what's your point?

  • Hello moron...those different independen countries are reffered as India even before 1947..the Alexander time and even before...look at the history and epic movies.....its not like pakistan :-) which came into existance all of a sudden in 1947...hope u understand now....

  • epic movies dont reflect history. The name "India" was brought by the British to name the region. If you hate them so much why do you adopt the name given by them nigga? That's why half of "India" wants to break away so they can be free again. Pakistan on the other hand was the Sindhu(Indus) civilization in 300BC just like Iraq was the babylonian civilizaton so looks like Pak has been around much longer than India so sad for you

  • oh yeah? Wait till Baluchistan,NWFP and Wazirstan balkanize. Indus Valley civilization is Indian civilization. Browze the history books , that may help in jogging your memory. Its your invader ancestors Ghazni and Ghori made what you guys what you are.

  • really? if our ancesters were the invaders why do you call us "indians"

    Wait till Khalistan becomes free.

KHALISTAN ZINDABAD! Gandhustan murdabad! Gay hind!

  • i was kinda scared to click the reply button, thought that my computer was gonna blow up

  • hahaha LOL

  • i know there is no use of arguing with morons like you...but i wanted to set you right....India, or Hindustan, was named by the Greeks after the Indus valley. Its dominant civilization was Hindu and Buddhist....learn the history....it was not named by British.....

one small suggestion....keep you mouth shuit..if you don't know the facts...its really smelling bad...stop talking non sence...look at the facts, search some reliable sources on internet like wiki, answers, columbia encyclopedia

  • using wikipedia as a source shows how poor your knowledge is. wikipedia can be edited by anyone

  • neither was India....technically, Pakistan was a free state first. Our independence day is a day before India...

  • Being racial is indeed condemnable. Putting the facts wrong is also condemnable. So, calling a language, Urdu as Hindi, which it is not is ALSO condemnable.

Urdu has persian script and contains words (written and spoken) in arabic, turkish and persian way. Today what you call Hindi is 100 % Urdu minus typical Sinsikrit Words interspersed amongst Urdu Words.

Your Hindi (heard only in media) = 80~90% Udru + 10~20% Sinsikrit

This very song= 100% Urdu (Rahim Shah's song)

  • so now u will say every indian hindi song is urs. damn it man urdu is also an official language of india.

and if u say urdu is derived from persian then i can say many words of persian from sanskrit.

so dont bring urdu , hindi, sanskrit, persian over here.

    just enjoy the video

  • Though Urdu is widley spoken IN India, I dont think its an 'offical' language of India. I *think* the official lang is probably English . . . or smthing else. However I MAY be wrong.

  • Theres nothing 'racial' or racist in pointing out a cartain language is actually this and not that. Yea, urdu is 'taught' in India, like many other languages are taught there and everywhere else. Btw, MOST bolly songs ARE in urdu, with a few multi-lingual words thrown in here n there.

  • Its Pakistani Song by Rahim Shah about three or more years ago. ITS NOT INDIAN.

And the language is URDU...NOT HINDI

What a display of POOR G/knowledge by Indians

  • Urdu's roots lie in Pakistan. Pakistan is one of the birth places of proto-Asio-Aryan languages. Urdu's root languages trace back to Pakistan.

So in that sense Urdu is not really indiginious to india at all just as Turkish is not really indiginious to Turkey it traces it's roots to the Altay mountains in mongolia.

  • What the fuck?!?!? It's not hindi!!!

  • With all due respect, nothing to get all potty-mouthed on. You can simply say 'its not hindi' and that will suit ur purpose, without having to swear.

  • I like swearing and i'm gonna keep doin it !
