This could be kind of scary. I like the idea for consumer technology but it could be potentially disastrous/deceptive on a mass-scale (like making a hologram of an alien spaceship to scare the living daylights out of people, which would be advanced psychological warfare)
That's impossible! that looks like cheating us! i saw a hologram display from Japan, but it was sucks. it was principle of raser and it couldn't change into the colorful display! but look at that hologram display we watched! WOW! i think the generation we predicted has already came! And i think Japanise technology is being ruined! Also the robots! Ah! the reason i'm swearing Japan is i'm a Korean American!
Talk about scarring people with holographic monsters, lmao i mean even if aliens do exist an come to earth later on we can give them a run for there money by generating a giant godzilla size hologram an with massive speakers yelling leave our planet or else lmao once making the hologram they will make some kind of silicone robot to be in the circumferential zone of the hologram an with a little memory card of human emotions an reenactments robot prostitution we be born future is coming lmao
@maggru91 they can already do that, but public dont have access to it. its actually really easy, some secret tech has been admitted to being more advanced than some of the alien movies u see haha
MIrror effects on glasses are NOT FREAKING HOLOGRAMS! This has existed for over 30 years. The freaking Haunted House on Disneyland has this. They are going on the WRONG direction.
As an idea is quite good but I don't think, personally at least, that I would like to watch a movie that way. Who wants to watch the actors in such a way as if we'd go to watch them on-stage?!?!?! And I mean in general a movie with these awesome special effects and stuff. Same thing applies for the case of the Sony's 360 TV as well. As for me, I'd rather stick to and hope for the auto-stereoscopic technology WHEN it comes to the CES shelves. Please tell me if someone disagrees with my opinion.
this thing does for holography as television did way back when it was invented in the silent era, then over time it improved to 3dtvs, just like this will improve over time
its reflecting the image off of mirrors; it does look a lot better then those awful movies that require glasses with different polarized lenses, it look like a moving flip book.
Lol, it's these kinds of videos that separate the just "a High school project" commenters from the 'wow this is amaaaazing!" commenters. Not that this doesn't look nice, but ha, I remember this big cylinder the size of a basketball with a crt, etc set up inside...it was a product that was purely devoted to projecting a holographic image of the ring from LotR--yay skymallll!
Add the sony kinect functions and this could become the new evolution in desktop computer display. Although the computer display from the movie Avatar remains to be the better way of presenting a real 3D display.
@DigitalSkyline Once saw an arcade machine with simiar dsplay, but the top was spherical, was a sword and sorcerer type game, and think it was a taito
@enotdetcelfer it looks like that on a camera but with your two eyes open next to it, it really is impressive... a telepromter is not quite the thing...
@drappke It's mostly illusion.. "holographic" is just a name. Real holograms/3d let you see different perspectives by changing your viewing angle. If you notice, everything is usually spinning. Watch when the camera is moving but the image isn't spinning and you can see that the view of the object doesn't change. They use the angles of the reflections to keep the image in place, but you don't get a different view. Like the "hollow face illusion", the direction of image travel is just reversed.
Nvm, yeah it's just reflected glass. There are ways to create a hologram by colliding two beams of light of the same frequency to create a picture, was hoping this was it, but it's not. :( I agree it sucks
for all people out there...holograms in mid air doesn't exist...it's impossible to stop light in mid air

slickdickdafoola 1 year ago
i did this when i was 10 for Halloween.
All you need is:
A Window
A piece of plexi glass the same size as your tv/monitor
a monitor/tv
Just adjust the monitor/tv's settings to contrast 100% and brightness 100%
Place the plexi glass on a 45 degree angle tilting towards your window
then just play a video with a black background on the screen ( look on youtube for halloween holographic window display)
If you want place and object behind the plexi glass for a better effect.
Your Done :D
