jeez spying on kids like that (i know you just made the suggestion but still...) - why not have multiple cameras in their room, tracking devices sewn into their clothes, etc.?
This question has probably been asked a million times, but I don't want to siphon through all the comments. Does the other computer you're viewing also need this program? Or can you just view any computer?
Thank you great video, I've tried setting this software (Ultra VNC) up at a karaoke bar, so they can control their computers in their vip rooms, but all their computers are offline and the owners don't seem to think they need to be online for the software (Ultra VNC) to work instead they have all their computers connected to each other via ethernet (cable).
so do those computers need to be online, for the software (Ultra VNC) to work?
You're right I have to fix family member's computers all the time and it's annoying trying to describe what to do over the phone. I use CrossLoop...It's like this except they give me an access code each time. This would be more convenient, but our routers don't work nicely together all the time so Port Forwarding isn't reliable (Verizon resets every once in a while because it feels it can.)
I had this working for two windows 7 machines, and now it's not. I have no clue why it's not anymore, can you think of anything I might have missed in the settings?
@silabsofty I guess so. I know some people that use it to watch their kids on the computer. It's important to choose a very good access password so that people don't spy on you.
i wish to teach my brother photoshop, but cannot because of the distance, will this program allow him to watch my desktop while I work so he can see what I do and learn from me?
Sure, you have to worry about port forwarding. If you have wireless or DSL, you'll need to configure your router /modem to forward port 5900 to your computer. Give your brother your public IP address and password.
Thanks, great guide!

In a Windows environment, Teamviewer is much better than any VNC

@SuperMichog The Client and Server need some kind of network. Even if it is just a crossover cable between them. (A network of two)
