I don't know if you agree with me, but... I can stand Monika's voice but there are some things that prevent me from replaying the songs she sings in:

she is inconsistent in her pitches and styles: one second I hear the "whiny" vocal and a second later the "nasal or running out of breath vocal". If she crams all possible styles and pitches into one song, it makes none of it unique to the song. Besides, I think that a soft voice goes better with Sirenia's songs.

I think a lot of people prefer Aiylin over Monika simply because of one reason. Her appearance. Our world has become so incredibly superficial that music is ceasing to be a matter of talent and sound and that is a real shame. In my opinion, Monika's voice has a higher vocal range and it is more appropriate for this music genre. Aiylin's voice is a bit too soft and childish and it does not give off the powerful and dark feeling Monika's voice does.

Eh. I may be basing it soley off of wiki, but the wiki article for Sirenia says they have never had the same vocalist for more than one album (until now with Ailyn) so I don't exactly understand the comments from people saying things like the last singer was great when she had to go people didn't like it, cause the current singer is the ONLY one to actually stay for more than one album.

It's the same problem Nightwish has: the old singer was so awesome and then she had to go. the new singer doesn't fit the traditional style of the band.

It makes me so sad to see that such things always happens to the best band!

..Who knows...MONIKA is a GREAT SINGER I THINK some people is used to some kind of artist or voice and they want EVERY singer to sound the same..I often read comment like She is not like...blah blah..the other has a better voice, is more beautiful, have a better gothic look, like her hair, ETC....they FOCUS ON COMPARISON and that´s a mistake. People should just listen to EACH artist style and make thier OWN opinion NOT FOLLOW THE CROWD that CLAIM who is better than who...

I'm new to the band as well. But I think Henrietta is the original lead singer and monica is the new lead singer. Not sure why they switched. Many miss Henrietta.

I was checking Sirenia Albums since At sixes and sevens, then Elixir for Existence and Sirenian Shores. But with this voice, it sucks, this song is amazing, but it would be perfect if Henrriete would still be with the band.
