A lot are real songs, there's some improv, if you ask me about a particular time frame, I can tell you whether it's an actual song or something I was just making up.
It seemed alright, but I've felt more solidly constructed heads. I know everyone gushes over the Mesa amps and they're supposedly over-rated but it was a very solid piece of equipment. I never took either apart, but as long as it didn't fall from the top of your stack I think it'd be fine.
It didn't come with a real one, but I had an Original Floyd Rose installed. I think I paid 600 back when it was new. Something like that. I sold it for like four something.
Hi, what modul are you using when you're playing the as i lay dying's stuff? GREAT sound, i'll buy one, but don't know what are the better hi-gain moduls
I believe that was the Ultra XL. It was one of the few ones I owned. I liked it. The other one that I really liked was the one they called Treadplate. It's modeled after the dual rectifier sound. The other distorted one I used here was the SL+. It's supposed to be a hotrodded JCM800 sound.
Please, promise me that none of you EVER buy an Randall amp! I just bought Randall equipment for over 2000 US Dollars $, and it REALLY sucks :'( Just trying to help others out... Randall sucks!
This was a decent amp. Plus the modules are a handy thing. All the people that heard it and tried it said it sounded pretty good. It didn't seem to be the most solidly constructed amp though... But that's in comparison to my Mesa which is a very solid amp.
did u try different tube combinations? because I try a bunch of different tubes in mine, and mine sound brutal. destroys any mesa or marshall i know of!! i decided to go with kt88 tubes in it.
what speakers are in the cab? if they're vintage 30's i think i'm gonna go for a randall XL cab since they have the mic eliminator jacks for recording and provide the same sound as your mesa
I had a terrible accident in which I lost 3 fingers on my left hand. Don't solicit prostitutes in Mexico... Long story.
I would say yes, the RM100 would be fine for that kind of band as long as you had the right module. I would suggest the SL+ module. This is actually one of the later amps I had. You should check my older videos and see my 2005 Dual Recto and my video of angel of death.
No, they still come with preamps. I don't play anymore. I think they're a thousand bucks with no preamps and 1600 with three preamps and they offer different combinations of them.
Hey Man nice shredding \m/_ How long you been playing for? Oh Yhea one question, does the rm100 come with 3 preamps or do u have to get the separately? Cheers!
Man, your tone and playing are all wicked. My lead guy is getting a Randall rig sometime soon, hope it sounds even half as good. How was getting that OFR into the KH? A pain?
It should sound good. his rig that is. What's he play? I didn't actually do the swap, I had a guy do it so I don't know. He did have to replace the nut I think. And it was a slightly different design than the licensed that came out so there were a few complications. It wasn't bad, but I liked the EC better.
That pulled off the AILD tone pretty good. Good low end grunt with clarity. So was that the Ultra or SL you were using during the first AILD run? Also, what was your tuning for that video?
I believe it was the Ultra XL module. The tuning was drop C. So drop d one whole step down. The speakers are the stock ones. I believe they're V30s. And thanks for commenting.
dude, you play by far much better than i do, and im happy with my playing, why? because when i compose the music to my band i feel it and each song by itself and its SOUND means just everything, now, if i can give more of myself and be a better guitarrist to make better songs well that would be excellent, my advice is just know who you are as a guitarrist, don´t try to be anybody else, look for yourself in your sound and your notes. nice playing, and very nice amp im thinking of getting one.
and about your comment about you not getting better, Alot of players hit a plateau when they play, but practice and time will get you past that before you know it. Keep it up man you got skills
hey, im thinking of getting myself an RM100, and i hae no idea what the factory set modules are, i think that the sound you got from the SL+ was awesome so wold it possible to get one which comes with that?
is it possible to have 2 channels going at the same time?. i wanted an adam jones setup of mesa tones and marshall together without 2 heads and stereo cab hassle.
I'm not sure which whammy harmonics you're talking about, but probably not. I never learned too many tricks with the whammy bar so I doubt it. But the tab around 2:10 is a song that I think is called Confined by As I Lay Dying. There's obviously open 6th strings in between each 5th string note. And the 5th string notes are 5 7, 8, 10, 8, 7, 3, 5. Then the second part is 5, 7, 8, 7, 8, 7, 3, 5. You can probably figure the rest out.
I just figured out the harmonics you're talking about. During the clean riff, right? I just made that all up on the spot, but no. That was just me holding notes at the twelfth fret. So, you could easily hold those with your left hand and vibrato them rather than whammy. BTW. I reap souls? I'll take that as a compliment. And thanks. I've been really depressed with my playing (I'm just not getting any better) and it's nice to hear something positive.
BTW the ultra XL your using sounds nice, what did you think of it? I'm looking for something to play things like Slipknot. Would you recomend the XL for that or something else?
I'm not too familiar with Slipknot, but of the modules I've played, I'd say the recto/treadplate/whatever they're calling it now module. It's a great module. Sorry I couldn't be more help. I thought the ultra xl module was ok, but I really liked the SL+ more.
I own an Rm100M, I only have the xtc module tho....only one they had instock. I would love the blackface, Ultra Xl and 1086. They are great sounding amps. I'm in the process of ditching my gt8 cos I love tube preamps. Thats why I was wondering about any stomps cos thats damn nice sound you had going.
the only thing I'd suggest buying is maybe an eq. I posted these vids to give people an idea of what it sounded like when I was selling it. But I have an MXR-10 band eq that can coax even better sounds from it.
By the way, thanks again. Have you played the 1086? I played it a little and didn't care for it too much. But again, I played it at the store and let the store guy set it so I haven't messed around with it.
Just straight in. The pedal I step on there is just the footswitch. I wanted to start on the Ultra XL module and make my way to the clean each time. I obviously forgot at the beginning. It's a good sounding head. I sold it though. It lacks something I can't quite put my finger on. If you're looking for a phenomonal value, that's it though. Great head for a great (used) price.
That's a Randall RM100 just like I mention in the description. The modular tube preamp head. I bought it used for around 950. The cab I bought new a few years ago and it costed about 920 bucks after tax. What do you think of it?
Floyd Rose 1000 series Brigde or Floyd rose Special brige?
