The tackler(Fijian) has already committed himself when the ball-carrier(Samoan) made that particular pass, so, that tackle could be construed as legitimate. In my opinion the Fijians were abit unfortunate to have lost that . But, a brilliant game, all the same.
Fiji could of won. Fiji always got lightning speed no matter how tall or big the person is. As for the hit yes late hit. This is fijiz sport but for now anyone hold the cup.
Fiji will rebuild maybe when things settle down at home with politics etc... and no doubt they will be dominating regularly in 7s...It's Fiji's game no doubt
In rugby union you also cannot tackle late. This is an extension of the 'only tackle the man with the ball' rule, but if your opponent has passed the ball off a number of seconds before you arrive, don't hit him. Or at least by law you shouldn't.

What a crock of shit, that wasn't a late tackle. To make a call like that at that point of the game is bull shit. That touch judge should go back to school boy rugby with calls like that.
