In Sweden, the monarchy is established for historical reasons... and it is __rigidly__ regulated... The royal house of Sweden may not have any political affiliations nor endorse/express any opinions about policies... Sometimes he forgets this and the media goes crazy on him/them...

If X person would be elected, it is not a monarchy, and the person does not become a monarch, rather a president.

The issue I have with the referendum is the discontinuity. 1-referendum and then closed down forever does not suffice. Referendums must be held on and on and on.

I could settle for a constitutional democracy where the monarch has equal powers and role as to the one in Sweden.

However, I doubt Pahlavi will settle for that and for historical reasons, I can't accept the Pahlavis.
