@ae70gts that's why the spinner looks like it does. I used a starter once. Just the other day while starting my new gas motor. It was faster, but I like hand starting. Maybe I will get a starter some day. But wont do it like this dude...
Holy crap. LOL...that looked like fun while it lasted. Not only are you a very good pilot but also an exellent climber! So, where there any survivors in that crash? LOL
@therealstory1: gas models and electric are virtually the same now days with brushless. most of us old-hand RC pilots grew up in the dark ages of brushed motors though. so we have the mindset of "electrics dont even have the power to take off"... which used to be true.
that being said, i will never own an electric "full size" (.40 and larger) model, i wouldn't mind a little slow flyer to play with at home though. but there's just something about the sound and smell of nitro. cant let it go.
The fact that it remained virtually undamaged surprises me quite a lot, because I happen to know that these RC planes are built pretty light so that they can perform 3D aerobatics. Light structure and quite a bit of strength - quite hard to achieve that combination without any compromise!!!
I've seen 2 planes hit trees (other than this one). Neither of the other two were hurt in the tree. One was damaged during removal. The other one was flown again relatively quickly.
it looks not broken but sometimes those kinds of crashes are worse than a normale one. because u will get it in the air and one of your ribs are broken or cracked so the wing folds or breaks off. and that sucks haha
LOLZ! that happend to my dad with a U.S. Aircore Knighthawk back in 2002, he went up and it drifted off in the top of a tree it was funny watching the tail stick out as the beeper beep, he got knicks in it from throwing rocks at it, long story short he went home and got a chainsaw cut the whole tree down, and i think he packed in since he was there for 2 hours.
damn plane eating trees! I had a hobby-people fw190 .15 size with a .25 on it. An aileron ripped off on a high speed run. Heck the plan flew better on one aileron! Landed it fine. Sometimes you win, sometimes your fw190 make a cracking noise and starts to tipstall and heads and the plane eating trees finish it off. :^)
Hi, a good beginers trainer is a kyosho calmato. It has a 40 size engine, very stable and forgiving. Other ones are thr rising star trainer or ivrine trainer, but my fisrt choice would be the kyosho, even comes with the radio gear..
@bulletbeater231 Very astute observation there Einstein. If you're filming doesnt that mean you're looking through a viewfinder? Still should be banned from your flying club if your safety officer isn't a total moron. Stay safe and watch out for airborne idiots like yerself. :)
nice way to start an engine... well done....

the best part of flying is cllimbing the tree to retreive your plane, rule #1 keep a good 12mtr fishing pole with mods, just incase.
nice vid
keep it up!!

Now thats a good plane, fly directly into a tree and come away un-scaved. Good job getting it down to.

@outbackjack1974

that kit is typically made with light plywood, not that light. he tip stalled into that tree there.

Well at least you were kind enough to hold the camera so the old man could climb the tree.

Sounds like a pretty bad choice of flying area - light poles, trees and traffic!
zipperneck1321 3 years ago
what a lucky escape!! not the best flying site with all those obstructions especially for an aerobatic plane like an extra!!
flys well thou
i had a mini magic extra i put a .25 engine on it went like a rocket until it found some railings !!total right off i was gutted.

That is amazing the plane came out of it without any major damage. When it hit that tree I thought it was toast.
Mine hit a fence going half that speed and totally destroyed it. Looked like a bomb had gone off in a balsa warehouse.
Congrats

hey i got a question how do u land it
suggerbros 3 years ago
2 low 2 the ground it didnt stall its just u didnt rais it at the right time
suggerbros 3 years ago
Looks like you ran out of flying speed while traveling downwind. The ailerons really stop working when that happens and you risk a tip-stall.
xjet 3 years ago
Dude that was so lucky.i put a plane into a tree once, did some damage on the way in,but the most damage was from it falling out the tree.
thisbme 4 years ago
In all fairness, try another venue... trees are bad news if they are withing 300 yards of the landing strip...

don't they have flaps for rc's like in real planes?
