@RighToBoarD "Goyim" is the plural; the question should be, "What's a goy?" "Goy" is Hebrew for "nation" and is usually used to refer to a foreign nation or person. It's not inherently offensive but can be used in a negative manner, same as, for example, "She's a beautiful woman" is not offensive, but "Get here, woman!" would be offensive. In times and places where Jews were forbidden from practicing other types of work, and/or were exiled from where they were living at the time, they had to fall back on some source of income and that happened to be moneylending.
