normally he reviews stuff and it sounds better than you could ever get it to sound at home, mainly cause he never tells you how he gets the sound or what he is playing through. In this video you don't want to sound like him haha
I hate to say it but, this video is misleading Fishmans true ability. I don't know if it's his guitar, his settings, or if he's tone deaft, but this demostration sounds like crap.! I have never played any of these pedals but I know that Fishman has a great reputation in the Acoustic arena - I owe a Fishman Loudman 100 Acoustic Amp and LOVE IT..! I also owe a Zoom A2. 1u. Acoustic Modeler. Based on this video, if offered all 3 pedals in exchange for it I would flat out turn it down,
Wow bad sounding audio demo. The effects may be cool but with that tiny squashed guitar dry tone you would never know it. I like it when he says a little finger picking then proceeds to NOT finger pick at all lol.
Nice effects if used at a more subtle settings..But at intense settings it mains a lot of the quality. Very pricey compared to othe options though..The man just has to many highs and should back them off and compensate some of the brightness with mids and it should sound fuller..It sounds kind of scooped..
The thin tone is not caused by the Fishman gear. For example go to the fishman site and listen to the demos there. It's either due to a direct piezo out with no preamp, or this chap liking that sound.
In the past us Acostic players had to use Electric Guitar processors, not so nice. These units really are nice....
Hmmm, the chorus and phaser could be better. I was just thinking that electric acoustic guitars are awesome because you're able to make music that sounds very "epic" with it, as in the fantasy adventure kinda epic, but they sound natural too, so they'd sound really cool for movie themes. Woulda worked great with LOTR.
I realised this after listening to "high hopes" by pink floyd.
I have the Fishman reverb pedal. Its awesome. For an amp i have a Fishman Loudbox 100 and a Taylor 410 CE. All these combined give an awesome sound. Well worth the money. Dont cheap out! buy good gear or you won't be happy with what you get.
I find I can't tell what the pedals sound like at all from this video, the audio is terrible. The only way to get any idea of what these pedals do is to go to a local dealer and try them out! then you can try any guitar they have in store or your own and any amplification type they might have on hand.
I won't doubt that the afx reverb is a nice pedal, but that really plastic acoustic guitar sound absolutely kills my ears. If anyone knows of a review for it that features a more natural smooth sounding acoustic, let me know.
Man that chorus, tremolo and phaser sounded terrible (at least to my ears) but the other effects were great. Still... I prefer as natural a sound as possible. It's my personal opinion so thumbs-down my post all you want...
are they kdding me? putting 3 COMMON effects in 3 different pedals? lol.... what a joke.... mo' munny mo' munny' mo munny... i dont hear anything here you cant get from other pedals sorry
I really like the AJ-500. Very nice. All solid woods. The masterbilts are really great guitars. I think Epi woke up with the success of that line. In the "Under $1000" class, they're right up there near the top! I hope you like your guitar, bro!
It looks to be an Ephiphone "Masterbuilt" EF-500RA. I've never played one, but there's no way Ibanez acoustics are worthy of the win, as IanKusekSoloArtist says. All Ibanez acoustics I've played sound like trash...plunky with no sustain. Simply unacceptable for an acoustic.
I agree completely. Ibanez acoustics do not provide a crisp, clear, natural acoustic sound. They are meant for more rock/pop acoustic sounds. A Gibson is prefered but the EP Masterbuilts aren't bad. Alex Lifeson from Rush played a Masterbuilt on the Rush In Rio DVD. Although, nothing beats a Martin for pure, natural acoustic tone.
Whoa... Gibson is preferred, but Epi's aren't bad?? I own an acoustic guitar that was praised by Acoustic Guitar Magazine as being "for the discerning player." It's not a Gibson, Epi, Martin or Taylor. It's a Crafter TCM035. There are MANY good acoustics out there. You won't know if you don't give them a chance. Good luck Jack.
even tho his guitar sounds pretty thin i do really like the look of it. and ive played epiphone masterbilts before and they sound great so maybe his in particular is just a bad pick or his amp settings a bit out of whack
I was just thinking the same thing, It doesn't have a very good balance of high and low, it's all high and thin... The effects are nice though. That's the theme of the video right? lol
it sounds like all the frets on that guitar buzz

checked out the prices of these . 160 british pounds each over here . so to buy three is way over the top !
there are sing units out there for accoustics at a third of the price and offer more a lot more features plus being able to record clean to your pc .

the phaser sounds useless. seriously.
although the rest of the sounds out of those pedals sound pretty cool.
one last complaint. the guitar sounds really thin. dont know if its the amp, or the pedals, but im not liking it.

yea phaser on acoustic kinda defeats the point. i doubt any1 would use that
