This guy is an architect and I am certain he calculated for seismic activity, but have any of these things been actually built and survived in an earthquake zone?
hi, nice video. Friends and Subscribers welcome if you want to have a look at my Home Wind/Solar Energy stuff. I won a Green Design Contest with my system on Earth Day. Have a look if you like.
like this building ideas! would do the same way! :-))
but never forget, enviromental protection YES!! climate protection NOOO!!
I would build this type, because of saving much fiat money and stay closer to nature. but I don´t fear about co2. because co2 has no (ultraless) effects on climate.(gate)
mostly consists of garbage, so at least that really cuts down on costs of materials. ive seen the documentary and its not so much a money cost, its just that it takes these guys YEARS OF LABOUR to build them.
I dont know about years just recently did an internship with these builders and they said they built an earthship from top to bottom in 2 months!! But Im sure if it only one or two people building it might take years
take no offense but i dont give a hoot in hell about carbon foot print I want free of the Grid...Great idea and i plan to use many of them...im already building passive solar heating pannels made of recycled materials
@centervilletn I fully agree. This whole carbon footprint thing is totally unproven. I like earthships for real reasons: they give you a way to live with less bills, they use up resources that would be otherwise garbage & keep pollution out of landfills & help you become completely independent of the 'grid" as you say.

I'm glad that Michael fought and won. His invention is an INCREDIBLE inspiration.

Poor video quality. And was that a PVC pipe I saw being used for the garden? PCV (#3) is cancerous.

Instead of tires, I wonder if you could use earthbags instead?

I like the idea of Earthships, but, how expensive are they? How much does it cost to build a home like this?

Hmmm they have been built in different sizes as well though. Maybe some are easier to build than others?
2 months eh? Oh man I can only imagine the labour!!! To build one of these babies in 2 months? wow! That's one way to get your exercise!

Interesting video. It's too bad that it breaks off so suddenly.
