  • I miss living in El Reno. That tornado was a sight to see in person. My description of it was like the finger of God flicking things around. It was my first sight of one in person. You have too see one in person to really appreciate it's awesome power.

  • I went on I-40 to south Oklahoma City and I saw a loves gas station that is gone ans shredded and a phillips 66 sign that is bent and torn from a tornado.

  • The tornado that took out that airport is an anticyclonic tornado (it's rotating clockwise).

  • i remember this, i was like in 6th grade, it happend right after school

  • thanks david payne for scaring the hell out of everyone that day haha

  • @tremer88 he scares the hell out of everyone during every tornado

  • 2012 the song - Harry Loco first time LIVE performance Woodfest Davis , OKlahoma !

  • right on my birthday :(

  • guau¡¡¡

  • That guy need to lower his meds...lol.. F^*(n idiot

  • well, when youre next to a tornado that is heading to a populated area, you have to show that it is dangerous

  • hear that guys a VIOLENT tornado!

pssh.. as opposed to what? you cant shake hands with em.. :)

  • @guitar4life33 Violent tornadoes are tornadoes in the EF-4 to EF-5 range. Of course, the guy yelling his lungs out over the phone is totally spazzing out, and he misused that term, I think, unless that tornado he was watching was an EF-4 or and EF-5.

  • pssssssssht

    I SLAY TORNADO'S!

  • I remember that one i was pregnant with my 1st child,he came6 days later on April 30th that one was nothin compared to may 3rd

  • looks like a cross over of f1 to f2 or

  • You can't tell by size. Tornadoes of similar size to this have been rated F5. However this is a landspout. Those are usually weak though they can do a high as F3 damage.

  • Pshh, that tornado sucks!

  • te only tornadoes that sucks are F0

  • LOL its going crazy he says. That tornado is weak! My house was hit by that tornado and didn't do anything.

  • i remeber this i was at incredable pizza and was pissed off when my mmom made us leave lol i was still hungry >=(

  • i took shelter in that tornado

  • This was a landspout, not associated with the mesocyclone. It originated in the rain-free base, which happens sometimes. Due to flow-patterns along the base, the majority of spouts that originate in this region do spin anticycloniclly.

  • OMFG my birthday is on April 24th im glad i dont live there because that would have been a crap birthday lol

  • I can destroy these monsters...

and want to make my discovering in practice...

  • this tornado in particular is EXTREMELY RARE in the USA. it was spinning BACKWARDS, or clockwise. normally, tornadoes in the northern hemisphere spin counter-clockwise, this one spun clockwise! AMAZING!!!!

  • talk slow....and its not that bad of a tornado

  • hey .... yeah it was any tornado is "that bad" (unless its a total pussy-nadolike an f1)

  • I lived in Piedmont oklahoma and we were almost close to a tornado.

  • Same Here

  • Tornadoes are not this active and viloent in Arkansas. In fact viloent wedge shape Tornadoes, and Multiple Tornadoes on the ground at the same time are rare in Arkansas.

An Event like this one in OKC of April 24 2006is EXTREMLEY RARE for Arkansas.

  • i went into that tornado storm. me and my mom chased them.

  • lol 24 april is my birthday:P

  • @NandoTeamdekkers Mine too! :P

  • lol...west of babcock drie

  • ive never been in a tornadeo where i live never but this one time the wind started blowin hight and the dust was everwhere its was creepy creepy i tell you creepy i personally thought there was going to be a tornado so i started freakin out

  • Pennslyvania, Tennesee, Ohio, and Kentucky have the same tornado frequency....especailly the rural areas.

Pennslyvania is not 'Tornado-Proof'. it never has been. and they are not rare either. as a matter of fact an F5 Tornado hit the state of Pennslyvania in 1985.

Plus some towns in Pennslyvania have Tornado Sirens.

  • I use to call this state ÅSKAHOMA ( ThunderHoma ) because of it`s horrible weahter .

  • I wouldnt put kentucky on the list. kentucky has the same amount of tornadoes as Pennslyvania, Southwest part of New York State & Virgina.

  • maybe how its the conditions it fromed in they weent ideal ??

  • look at the videos like this from the air at the weather channel. thats the new way of chasing tornadoes

  • I lived in El Reno at the time and I had just moved to Oklahoma from Arizona so it was my first tornado so I was defenitley looking to get underground and when I came out it was kind of eerie. We had hail damage to the cars and my door window was broke.

  • yea i lived there at the time i didnt go underground i was with my stepdad in his squad car and we where bout a mile east of it and we watched it. tas kinda amazing. god i love el reno lol

  • Talk to me, Val

  • I lived in el reno at the time. We went underground and when we came out there was a lot of hail damage in our neighborhood. We had damage to our roof and one of the neighbors had their car window broke out.

  • david payne cracks me up!

  • two tornados on the ground at the same time is scarey and it is nice to hear Gary England great weather man he was great when the outbreak of 1999 that spawned that major F-5 tornado

  • I remember this!! I live in Ponca but i remember turning the TV on and seeing this.. And i think they said this was a very rare tornado.. But i forgot why

  • i wonder y they would call it rare 2

i lived in holdenville at the time (its a small city in oklahoma)we have ornadoes like that all the time

  • its rare because it spun backwards. anticylonic, and i was there hehe

  • ohhh i thought anticyclone brought clear weather though

  • The finger of God

  • WHAT?!

  • Your too young to understand.....go away child.

  • I think I heard that line from Twister, lol...

  • Yea, thats where I think it came from.

  • wow.

  • The 4-Warn Storm Team Won an Emey for the covrige

  • The 4-Warn Storm Team Won an Emey for the covrige

  • i live in canada, quebec so here i cant chase tornado =( damn...

  • Wow! I was Interstate 40 last year (07) in Ok!

  • I was out on cemetary road an hour before, if only I had known, would have chased it

  • me 2....i was SO wantin to go chase it

  • They never talked about this one time about a powerful storm in MD. We had about 5 funnels at the same time that never touched i was like "I wish i had my camera" (i was in the car at the time) But it was a huge storm.

  • Okay so I was at OCCC that day...in the library...and I saw this on TV and I walk outside to go to my car...the sirens go off and a guy asked me why they were going off...lol.

  • but to finish TORNADOES HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH GLOBAL WARMING!they are in oklahoma because of the cold winds that blow in from canada and the warm winds that blow in from the tropics.

  • excellent answer charon128!

but what we really need to worry about it global cooling because its coming closer than u think.but they really cant prove that carbon dioxide is causing ozone depletion.CFC's are there because of the UV rays.its just a simple process called NATURE!

  • Of course global warming exists... but if you look at trends the earth has been warming and cooling all by itself for millions of years. Yes some species go extinct, that's just the way the natural world works

  • Excellent video. I wish they had not pulled back the close up after the twister slammed into that hanger though.

  • Wow that's a good video!

  • Excellent coverage!

  • pretty cool that they could catch this while flying.

  • yeah, i live here and they usually always do, its pretty awesome, the piolets always have a tremble in the voice, lol

  • there is no such thing as global warming? what just happened in Antarctica in august? and we found it in November.

  • the global IS warming, but the term 'global warming' has this implication that comes with it that humans were the primary cause of this warming

  • isn't that what's happening right now though?

  • I'm Creek, Eskimo, Choctaw, and Cherokee Indian and have always wondered how the Native Americans dealt with tornadoes.

  • Mad dogz

  • To rallo159 The earths o-zone hole is getting smaller. Global warming is a lie. Al Gore doesnt care anymore flying in the most fuel burning private jet ever built and driving a limo for like 1000 miles in one state.

  • OZONE HOLE is shrinking because flourocarbons and freon has been banned since the 1970s. Global warming due to burning of fossil-fuels is stil real. Free energy is coming. Cheap clean energy is coming. We are building the devices as we speak. Sell your oil stocks, or you will lose your shirt.

  • lol, id like to see pepetual motion come up with in the next hundred hears let alone as soon as you are saying, if their wer acual hols in teh ozone the suns radiation would cook the surface under that hold( witch noone has seen so probably no hols at all) andi dont hunderstand how golbal worming is suposably getting wors yet we are doing more than ever now to stop...

  • Not perpetual motion. Sustainable energy methodologies. The Government controls the populace thru ENERGY. But energy is all around us, ready for the taking. One cubic centimeter of vacuum contains enough energy to boil-off all the oceans of Earth.

  • maby you sould go back to high school and take physics. icase you dit know, a vacume is empty like space, and you people that htink the goverment is hiding things.... buddy the goverment dose not control people, brains do. and that energy around us is not electricity, your body uses it and gets it by eating other things, the higher you go up the food chain the less energy their is.

  • Study theoretical math. For the last 75-years, it has indicated the vacuum is MASSLESS CHARGE. Natural-processes like BALL LIGHTNING cohere zero-point-energy. Read EH Lewis,TORNADOES AND BALL-LIGHTNING, ETRAORDINARY SCIENCE Vol VII, No.4, pp33-37, SX Jin, H Fox, CHARACTERISTICS OF HIGH-DENSITY CHARGE CLUSTERS: A THEORETICAL-MODEL, Jrnl of NEW ENERGY, Vol1, #4 pp5-20.

  • all you have is therys, non of witch is proven. space is a vacume. an vacume is empy( nothing) no lighting not free energy sorce. and the funnything is that you preaching that free energy is come, but what about solar power, thats a renewable free sorce, is the goverment hiding that one too? NO the truth is fossle fules will never stop being used untill we run out.

  • If you read theoretical-math, you would know that the vacuum is seething with more potential energy than our wildest dreams. Electromagnetic-waves cant propagate thru space without a medium to do the waving. The Ether, which pervades all space, is the medium responsible gor gravitation, and inertial G-forces. Read Winterberg, F: MAXWELL's EQUATIONS AND EINSTEIN-GRAVITY IN THE PLANCK-ETHER MODEL OF A UNIFIED FIELD-THEORY, Z Naturforsch, 46a, p 551-559.

  • you want to talk about g FORCE, OK anything with mass creats gravity, sice their is no mass in most of space, their is no gravatatianal pull, and wat your saying is that my vacume is creating energy when it is on? no i dont think so it consumes energy. and will you stop givim me pagenumbers of books i dont have....

  • I learned that actually the hole gets smaller and then larger with the changing seasons.

  • THANK YOU!!!

    Al Gore is a liar.

    Global Warming does not exist.

I promise you. I have proof to back it up.

  • Gah you should've seen the May 8th and 9th tornados a couple years back...those were nasty and I live pretty close to the OKC limits.....

  • lol its all global warming...get use to it couse ur all going to see more!

  • hippie

  • I remember this on tv... it was cool. =D

  • I live in Oklahoma

  • A rope tornado? A Wimp, A WIMP, I tell you!

  • I really want to go to Oklahoma city. But I Don't want to expirience a tornado in my future.

  • Then don't come between March and June. Although a few years ago we had a tornado in November, I think it was an F2 but I don't remember.

  • My folks lived in Oklahoma City for a little while. it is a BEAUTIFUL city with a lot to do. I loved it.

  • Mostly where most tornadoes happen is in "San Fransisco" form what i hear off

  • Most tornadoes, do not occur in San Fransisco. They almost always occur in the Tornado Belt. Which is near the center, more plains part of the country. Oklahoma, occurding to Wikipedia and NOAA Corp., has the highest amount of tornadoes per year.

  • i don't give a dam!

  • why are tornadoes such big bullies?! :(

  • was that F2 tornado?

  • oio itso difficult

  • I WAS IN THAT FUCKING TORNADO!

  • wow, ur survived. nice.

  • me 2 will i live in el reno

  • i sat on I40 and watched this tornado

  • i remember seeing this on the local news!

(i live a county east of el reno)

  • wow this is so amazing what the weather can do and thanks for sharing it with me god bless and peace

  • David Payne and Mike Morgan are the best. David is one storm chasing guy!

  • We have very few SHEAR WIND GUST *Tornadoes* im in AZ

  • the guy on channel 4 sounds like he is in the tornado ;D

  • Nah not this time but he was inside a tornado about a month or so ago. It set down right on top of him, thank God it was only a little EF-0

  • david payne is my idol, lol. i storm chase for REACT but he is the best.

  • ONE of the best, if not THE best!

  • Storm chasing is so crazy fun... I love it and I also get so excited like David did! David is also funny if you watch his morning weather report at 6:30.

  • i think David likes his job

  • I used to live in OKC and I miss David Payne getting so excited during all the storms/tornadoes he chased..... He was awesome!

  • That reporter on Channel 4 maybe getting excited but its really just an adrniline rush. Kudos to David and all you David haters suck!

  • Eep!

  • This ain't real... Is It???? o.o

  • yeah it is. and that's not even a big one.

  • for those of u who saw it in real life were u scared?

  • i never see tornadoes man id love to see one though u just dont get weather like that in nova scotia canada

  • that was like a mile from my house, it was so amazing. I remember the wind was blowin so hard and it was raining and we were out front of our house watching every move it was makin, what a great night.

  • relatively small twister in my opinion but im stil jelouse i dont get to see one

  • wow. i wouldn't get that close to one. I would be in a shelter underground or something safe like that.

  • i remember kotv here in tulsa goin over to watch it

  • it must suck to live in tornado alley tornados rarley happen in ontario canada where i live

  • My dad, took my brothers and I to watch it.

Shortly after were taken away by DHS...

  • This was less than 3 miles from my house.

    Awesome!

  • awsome!!!

  • wow, i still remember watching this on t.v when it happened!

    Thanks for the upload!

  • OMG this freaks me out more than UFO's

  • man you couldn't pay me to live out there, it's bad enough here in Florida!

  • glad I live in oklahoma city.. They rarely hit the NE side if ever.

  • OMG! i remember this. It was so scary.

  • Tornadoes freak the shit about me

  • That airport in the vid is something I drive by all the time!!! They still haven't fixed those hangers!!

  • I remember seeing this on tv it was kinda cool.I swear Gary England sounds really hyper and the other guy too

  • sounds like the reportor has never seen one before,,,,

  • kaay i love tornado's jsut keep 'em safe and make sure no one gets hurt :)

  • Tornadoes rock!!!!

  • I KNOW!

  • How is it funny???? You know what this one time there was a tornado warning and the alarm went off and there wasn't a tornado.

  • " Oh no! A tornado! " Says the reporter!

" Aw man this is bad... " Says Boss

" Lets hope people die so i can get more ratings! " Says the reporter.

They've done that before and i have a feeling they've done this here too.

  • ill like to see a plane to fly in one that woulkd be funny

  • lol they didnt issue the tornado warning till it was already on the ground lmao nice, its a tornader its a tornader moron

  • i fucken hate the press they so fucken stupid in situations like this and the words calm down dont and fucking moron dont mean jack shit to them good video though i will say that

  • I live 10 miles from this location.Watched it live on TV.

  • I remember hearing about this.. The tornado was rotating Clockwise.. and as we all know.. tornados in the northeren hemisphere rotate Counter-clock

  • someone pissed off mothernature

  • This is funny!

  • man that is so beautiful but scary.

  • must be scary to live in tornado alley

  • i saw ground video of that is was amazing

  • Excellent news coverage of these storms

Even news teams can become storm-chasers, trying to get safely up close to nature's fury.

I bet storm-chasers are having a banner day of documenting multiple tornadoes.

The twister that struck a local airport, in a way, reminds me of the F-2 tornado on the ground in Fresno, CA, that caused some mimor damage to the Fresno Air Terminal and surrounding buildings, back on 2-19-80.

    Totally Incredible!

  • i cant be botherd to wait for it to load but I like the mans accent

  • Wow. What a beautiful - yet freakin' scary - tornado. Thanks for sharing this!

  • Tornados are freakin' sweet... when there not harming anyone of course.

  • WOW! That is scary! I'm glad we don't have tornadoes in Vermont! Were there any fatalities? I hope not.

  • Whoah, thats scary. I've almost been in a tornado =[

  • I was in the airport at this particular moment and I survived, the airport didn't =)

  • I have always wanted to be a storm chaser but I'm scared to death of storms...man the power of storms are just amazing

  • The people who comment on these message boards always seem to have a third grader's sentence-writing ability.

  • I concur.

  • THATS CRAPY

  • Oh, yeah. I remember that. I wasn't too far from there. It was awesome!! My dad and I were like: HOLY SHIT!

By the way, News 9's camera's were hell of alot better than that shit. :P

  • I think that would have been a f-2 or f-3 the first one anyway, it was kinda small

  • I was thinking of becoming a storm chaser I was wondering how much they pay you to be one. Tornados and storms never fail to impress me. =D

  • hahahahha. i live in yukon, oklahoma and el reno is only a couple miles away from my house.... my and my friend went storm chasing but didn't see this.. it went back up before we got out there. :(

oh and to will1265, we also have a miami in oklahoma as well. pronounced differently, but there is one.

  • Damn these guys wont let each other talk. One sounded like he had a frog in his throat the other sounded like he had a penis in his mouth.

  • Laugh out loud.

  • There is NOTHING funny about it. The only funny thing here is YOUR NAME!

  • Ecen if destructive, torandoes and thunderstorms always interested humans!

  • im sorry for my earlier comment this isnt the same tornado im i thinking of
