Using a aiw9800 pro, watch live tv and play Half Life2 while running a torrent on my wi-fi box. Run the modern games on my soon be upgraded system, e6400, 9800gt oc 1gb, 3gb ram, 1.25tb worth of drives.
This card was the fastest at the time, but it was still inferior to the 9800 Pro. It cost more, it was insanely loud, consumed huge amounts of power and weighed so much that it sometimes broke out the slot. My friend had one and needed to tie it to his case with string so didn't fall out.
This card is probably the biggest f***-up nVidia ever produced. It was rushed out to meet the new cards from ATI and failed miserably!
The FX5800 Ultra was only marginally faster with AA and AF turned off than the Radeon 9700 Pro when it came out but when you turned on AA and AF the Radeon 9700 Pro destroyed it. As soon as ATi tweaked the 9700 into the 9800 it was over for the FX5800. That and it's loud fan made sure that it wouldn't be on the market for very long. In short, the FX5800 Ultra was a complete failure. The replacement FX5900 and FX5950 cards weren't that much better. The whole FX line was a joke.
if i remember corectly the gf 5800 ultra was vary big and loud,it sounded great on paper but didnt perform that great.you should have compared it with the radeon 9800 pro,the main rival to the 9700 pro was gf 4600 ti
The Geforce FX was great for his time, but now he is going old, many fx 5200-5700 doing her work every day in a office computer, many of us had one in the computer, this cards are not gaming cards, but the fx 5800 Ultra is euqal to the radeon 9700 Pro , not a crapy GPU, for the time it was a very great GPU ..:)

5800 Ultra was proclaimed as not very satisfying by NVidia it self, therefore 5900 ultra was intorduced which was faster and most important quieter.

Ati cards raped these fx-series nvidia cards back then. 9800 pro might be the best graphics card ever created. That beast ran new games for so long.
