Be sure to check the quality of your "Export" settings. When I render "Video" I usually use "HD 1080p" AVI. Most of the time I render out an "Image Sequence" with a .png file at a setting of 1920 x1080 or higher but then you need editing software ...I edit in SONY Vegas Pro.
Hey Small, I haven't heard of VUE, but I have heard of LW3D. As I recall that's a pretty high end program. Wow you think Daz 3D is that much more powerful than iClone? It's not a very expensive program, and also doesn't seem to have as much options and stuff, as iClone. I've been looking at Google Sketchup and it seems like a really cool program. Sounds like you can even convert stuff into 2D images, which would be cool cuz I'm doing some 2D animation. Anyway, your stuff looks great. Keep it up!
Hey Small, yah by backgrounds I meant like building exteriors, landscapes, etc. I've been looking at their website and it seems like a damn solid program. Been trying to decide if I want to even attempt going the 3D route. There are a few good choices between iClone, Poser, Blender, and maybe Daz Studio. Trying to figure it all out =)
@Matsuemon13 Yes on adding buildings exteriors terrains and such. I use VUE to create terrains & LW3d.
I do enjoy iClone but I'll be the first to admit it is the buggiest program I have ever used and it's operation is pretty wacky. But it renders fast and with work can look pretty decent as you may have seen on my other videos on my smallwstudio channel. Poser & Daz are very high-end programs and will look much better but it will take forever to render unless you have a VERY powerful 'puter.
Wow nice job! I thought both the animation and the graphics/render were very good. Did you use a premade set piece that you bought, or did you design it yourself? I can't remember, can you design your own backgrounds and characters in iClone(4)?
@Matsuemon13 Thanks! Most of the props were built in the free program called SketchUp. It's kinda funky but easy to use. You then need the program from iClone called 3Dxchange to convert the SketchUp model to an iClone object.
In iClone you have a lot of pre-built shapes which can be sized, surfaced and pieced together to make models by they are simple shapes.
If by "backgrounds" you mean skies, clouds or pictures of city-scapes then you can add these in iclone. You can modify the avatars a bit
iClone 4 Pro is really my first experience with iClone. I'll be the first ti admit it's a blast to use, having come from Lighwave 3d and VUE, which I still use and are very serious high-end programs. But there are still a lot of buggy things going on in iClone that drive me nuts. We always hope the "next release" will fix things.
Thanks! Just starting to learning iCLONE. It's fun but still working trough the issues. I'm used to Lightwave 3D but iCLONE is kinda fun if not as full featured.
Thanks for the kind words. Just starting to figure iCLONE out. I see a lot of things that don't measure up to my "serious" programs like Lightwave 3D ,VUE and Poser but it soooo much fun to see really quick renders that with a bit of tweaking look pretty good. And SONY Vegas Pro helps a bunch too. I have more stuff if you search smallwstudio on YouTube as well.
how do you make the render and shaders
and how did you get that camera
so how can i get this quality

@Matsuemon13 VUE is very high end but they have some low-cost options search e-onsoftware.
Daz is very much a character creation/animation program. I myself wouldn't use it for all-round animation work but some folks do I'm sure.
By the way I really like what you are doing with the Animator program very cool classic 2d stuff!
