You should never open a shark egg unless the shark struggles to get out. My bet is this shark never took to food an ended up dieing. The baby shark should have took off not float to the bottom.
@mrspfcbaker He is now over 6 months old and has nearly wiped out all my cleaner crew. very healthy shark around 14 inches long. the egg had holes in it and I have done this around 10 times in my uncles Aquarium. Around 25% of bamboo sharks dont make it out of their eggs in the wild.
he will grow about 2-3ft in my tank. he is ok not yet eaten tho. it can be hard to get them to feed for the 1st time but I am hoping he will eat soon.

Are those reef safe aside from wiping out your CUC? My tank isn't nearly large enough for any shark, but I'm just curious.
