  • what were you using?

  • @4321fisherman i think i was using a slash bait from rapala

  • theres tons of tarpon down there right?

  • thats the coral reef canal?

  • you gotta lower your rod tip whenever they jump..otherwise they will cut you off or throw your hook...it already happened once before to me on a huge tarpon in the everglades

  • actually what happen was that i was trying to relocate myself being that i was in such an uncomfertable position,i had him hooked for a while and as soon as i got the camera out it just popped out (remember i was using just one hand) i'll get him next time

  • that's exactly what happened to me...not to mention I was on top of a ledge on krome and 8th when a trio of scavenger tarpon came swimming by and one of them ate my shiner...fish jumped twice and on the third jump it tossed my hook..all because I wasn't using a circle hook and because I kept applying pressure on him during his jumps which is a no no

  • @lrave001 Having a circle hook has nothing to do with the ability of a fish to throw the hook. If you used a J-hook with a good hookset, it will hold just as well as a circle.

  • That looks like 8 st and 137 ave. This is the reason why I use 30 lb braid. You never know what your gonna get!

  • lol,that was perfect man!

I like how you film your urban fishin man.I was down in homestead httin up them largemouths today.
