Did anyone catch the technological mistake in this scene? This movie was made in the 70s but it was set in the far future right? Just before the officer gets choked he says "Dont try to frighten us with your sorcerer's ways, lord Vader. Your sad devotion to that ancient religion has not helped you conjure up the stolen data T A P E S." I seriously doubt in the time period this movie was set in, they would have TAPES for storing data.

Not necessarily. Judging by the third and sixth movie the only people who ever found out he was a Force user were the surviving jedi and maybe the emperors guard. Theres no reason to assume that the soldiers and generals know now, because it might have been more advantageous for the Emperor to be like "im just big brother Palpatine, a normal human doing things for your safety with a force choking bodyguard"
