You scared me at first, I thought this was like another Expertvillage "disaster-waiting-to-happen" video.........difference is, at least you know what your talking about. Good stuff!
fantastic!! I was just wondering what this process was called, and stumbled upon this vid, as i was looking up another vid..harrrayyy!!!!!!! thanks! want 2 try that!
Thanks! I thought it could be sucked closer to the form myself. It was his first time but yeah, process improvement was needed. Thanks again for the info!
You ALMOST got it right! The thing to do is place the frame over the form with the styrene on top, heat the styrene with your heat gun uniformly. When the plastic is heated, turn on the vacuum quickly while continuing to blow the hot air over the plastic until it totally conforms to the shape.
Also, the peg-board should have many more and smaller holes in it, so that the plastic will be able to be sucked right down to the base of the form. Or lay window screen beneath the form you're molding.

I learned that you had to throw the plastic in your "convection oven" to melt the plastic. Would that catch fire?
