  • @CarbineGuy just paid $2500 for one ear local anasthetic, general costs about $500 more, it was revision surgery and it still looks fucked up.....worst thing i ever done

  • @CarbineGuy ur insurance could pay for it, if you say stuff like "kids pick on me at school" "makes me have a low self of steem" things like that, even if they dont

  • it looks great man im getting otoplasty done this tuesday coming up march 9th hopefully it comes out as good as yours

  • I had it done and although it helped my ears from protuding out so far, Now I realize everytime that I am in a picture i can see that my left ear sticks out alot and looks nothing like my right which has a big curve in it and sticks closer to my head.

  • where do i or with who do i need to get in contact to get this surgery?

  • Yeah, holding your ears back is an easy way to see the difference. You should look a lot more symmetrical and overall 'tidier'. I am also giving it serious thought.

  • same i wanted it done since i was little, im only 18 and i really want this, its going 2 make me reli happy, jus trying 2 save up for it, its hard when you dnt reali have no1 by yrside helping u, sumtyms i jus cry :(

  • FUCK I GOT THIS ALL TO COME.

  • I'm also 14 and I just got it done had to wear this bandage stuff around my head for 6 days and finally getting it off, yay!

  • im thinking of getting it done myself - can you tell about your experience & how much it cost etc?? i would love to hear about your experience:)

  • my cat cheek hangs out. Can I get Catoplasty for it?

  • you look great, handsome man ;)

  • I had my otoplasty done 2 years ago and my ears are still a bit stiff and there is a scar. idk if this was my surgeon or thats how its supposed to be. I had a TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE. make sure that they give you a sedative. preferably be put to sleep. I was awake and 100% aware and it was a traumatizing experience. the entire time all you here is this LOUD cutting ripping tearring sound of your skin being cut. its horrible. the pain was unbearable after the anestesia wore out. just be prepared

  • i just had otoplasty done 2 weeks ago and i fully agree with applee15.being awake whilst havn the procedure done is rank.hearing your cartilage been cut with a scaple is the shit nitemares are made of.suggest you get put to sleep for the op

  • where did you get the surgery done?

  • There is usually a period of 24-48 hours of pain to be expected followed by sore ears when sleeping on them for maybe 3-4 weeks after. The procedure took about an hour. Took 2 weeks for my ears to look basically normal again. Had to Wear a Beanie for the first week to cover the bandage. Hope You make the right decision.

  • Hi im 15 and my parents doesnt know but i want to tell them soon that i want to go to doctor so they can check out my ears cause i need to make an otoplasty too. My both ears arent prodtruding its just mostly the left one but the right one needs little correction too..

I really want to know from u guys who have taken this surgery how does it fill like?

    tell me everything about it

how long did it take, did it hurt........

    thank you !!

  • im 14 , i had it done , i was put to sleep wake up with no pain and its been a week now with out a bit of pain , bandages anoying tho !!

  • hey i really want to get this done but my ears dont stick out they are just big about how much did it cost you and did you have to pay in payments and if so about how much were your payments

  • Slippers, I would suggest doing some personal research before worrying about pricing, What you potentially want isn't a common procedure to undertake. So it would be worth knowing every option/surgeon and whatnot available before going any further

  • is ther surgery to trim ears

u know from big to a bit small

  • How do they do local anesthesia? Does it hurt? Is it needles sticking into your ears?

    Thanks

  • Let me answer your question, I had the surgery about 3 HOURS ago.

I currently have a bandage wrapped around my ears and head.

The Local anesthesia made the actual surgery painless except for the injections what is no big deal. The Injections are short and feel like a tiny prick. In the mirror the results appear to be perfect so far. But I'll know within a week. I will be posting up a video sooner than later with evidence of before/after

  • Thanks so much for the reply. Im getting my otoplasty in a week - the local is what I am most worried about. I hear the couple days after surgery suck the most. Keep me posted! You're so lucky to be done!

  • No problem, yep the weekend after the surgery was not fun at all. The bandage became a itchy, but I took it easy, had a day off work. Had the bandage taken off on the morning of day 6, but kept wearing a headband at night for one additional week. Its now 3 weeks on, and it turned out perfect. Alot of people have thought that my hair looked different, as opposed to noticing my surgery.

I'm so relieved that it worked out. Going to post a video tomorrow morning!

  • How did yours go?

  • great, no problems. Only thing is I have these non-absorbable sutures that I have to get taken out tomorrow and I dont see how they are gonna do that. The sutures are tiny and my skin is growing over it. I went to Costa Rica to have it done...cost 1000 dollars.

  • I`m glad everything turned out well for you, but I wouldn`t trust anyone out of the U.S.

I`m 38 and I`m still working on getting mine done. It seems the more I wait the more it effects my self esteem and my mind. whenever I`m out, I automatically start worring about people looking at my ears, I feel like a dog with his tail between his legs. I gotta get this done soon, now it`s just not a physical thing but a mental thing as well.

  • I know what you mean. After they get done - that will all be a memory and you will totally forget about it.

Dont write off Costa Rica - I went by myself and Im 23. The hospital there was the most state-of the art hospital Ive ever seen. Only cost me 1000 dollars. Food, hotel, air (roundtrip) was another 1000. Much cheaper...

  • Can you give me all the details, what the doctor`s name is, what hotel you stayed at, etc.

  • man i feel the same thing , umma get it done next month , wish u all the best bro

  • Thanks man. How old are you? wish you all the best too bro.

  • im 22 but i heard alota shit man , and i wear my hoddie all the time and people think im trying to be black lol

  • wassup dude u look great , but i have aquestion do u feel ur nose look different now cuz i think it its

  • i am 13 and thinking of geting mine done.

ive had long hair since i was 10 cuz i hate my ears so much. this video has helped my desision so much. im going to the doctors to talk to him about it. is there anything that can go wrong that i need to worry about??

  • dude i have like the same ears as you use to have. and im very self conscous about them but my parents dont take me serious....

  • My advice would be, save up little by little and have it done. But in the meantime just enjoy yourself and don't worry about it.

  • what an amaing difference!!

  • got bandages off today!

quite painfull for first 4 days, just uncomfortable for next 3

    pricey, $2,500AU

    TOTALLY worth it!

  • and reply me also doctor plz

and i wanna ask u elias wt about after otoplasty wt's yr friends say & ppl u know becuz i'm hesitant, afraid and nervous

  • hey umm , i had otoplasty 2 month ago, and now its about the pain, it stil hurt ...it hurts when i walk fast or shout or u know, and i just wanted to know till when this pain goes , my doctor said it goes with the time ( like onther one month ) but i just want to make sure from you cuz ur proffisional and thats why i always ask you so please repley me ...thank you :)

  • waiting 3 month and make it in march 2009 or make it on the time in december 2008 ?????

  • i'm going 2 make this surgery after 3 month in december 2008 but i took Course of Accutane 4 acene for four month i finshed it in june 2008 then i took only one medicine box 4om accutene 40 mg 4om 1 september to 20 september but in accutene instructions it's say i sould wait 6 month after course of accutene finished becuz it's not allow make any plastic surgery on face like laser and Peel the Maii becuz it's may cuse Scars in face and slow in Healing injuries. so wt should i do ????

  • Just had mine done 1 week ago but disapponited with results. The upper inside of 1 ear is bigger and straighter than other. I thought it was swelling at first but the surgeon said their was some swelling but it would not change the ear significantly. This has puzzled me because the inside of the ear was not like that before. How long does swelling take to go down. I hope the surgeon is wrong and it goes down but im worried now as my ears do not look the same.

  • how much does this cost? i really want mine done.

  • In most of our patients, 95% of swelling is gone at 6 weeks making the ear look virtually normal. The best is to continue close follow up with your surgeon as it is difficult for me to to provide medical advice and guidance over the internet.

  • its me again , i hope im not disturbing with my comments n questions, umm its been month and my ear still swollen from the upper side and my doctor said i must wait 2 month and will see what will happen, how long it take for the swollen to go ? 3 months ? or 6 ?

  • Totally worth it Matt. It looks good and natural. I had mine at about that age but I was awake under a local.

  • thanks man :)

  • Dear Elias225 -

it is unusual for the ear to look normal the day after otoplasty. Usually, it looks already much better than before the surgery but will need time for healing. Because you trusted your surgeon with the procedure, you are probably best off trusting his judgement so soon after. Best of luck!

  • hey , umm i want to ask u something - i'v already done my surgery - its ben 2 days and just yesterday the doctor took of my headband ( headband for oneday ) um its my right ear and my ear is unnormal i mean its not the right position and the doctor said it need a week to look like a normal ear but i see videos on youtube that their next day their ear is normal , hows that ?? its there somethin went wrong w/ me ? please repley me im worring ( sorry about my english ) ..thanks

  • My ears were blue and red for about 2 weeks after I took the bandage off I had worn for 10days. They stay swollen for a while.

  • i see, but how long this while ? i mean cuz my ear still swollen from the upper side ..so how long it takes to back to normal ? 3 month ?

  • It will go back to normal. After 6 months you won't even be concious of it

  • 6 month ? or 6 weeks ? cuz in some videos ther say 6 weeks or 3 month but now my ear look normal but there is a little swollen but its okay ...thanks anyway ;)

  • Hey I had Otoplasty done about 2 weeks ago. I look totally different from what it was, but i'm still not satisfied with my results. I want them to be closer to my head than they are right now. What would you recommend ?

  • Dear CodeExploit -

I would recommend to wait for a minimum of 6 weeks before judging the outcome. Talk honestly with your surgeon about your concerns. In case revision surgery becomes necessary, wait at least 9 months from the time of your first otoplasty.

  • hey umm i have a question -- im gonna make my otoplasty surgery in 16/7/08 umm so its soon and my doctor , he said he have new way of making it -- this way is - that he dont use knife , he dont cut the skin , he just put seam, stitch and its under the skin so u cant see it - umm so i wanted to ask u if u recomend that way of operatin... he said its better

  • How close can you get the ears to the head?

Can you recommend a doctor in Chicago?

  • Placing the ears too close to the sides of the head creates an unnatural-looking deformity that is not better than protruding ears. A natural look is the goal of otoplasty and can be realistically expected with this procedure. I would look for an experienced facial plastic surgeon in your area.

  • Can you tell me how much it may cost in Ontario, Canada?

  • Unfortunately, I cannot comment on the financials for otoplasty in Canada.

  • it costs around 4000 to 5000 in ontario but if you are under 18 its covered by OHIP.

  • Good for you Matt no offense but, now you look like someone to take seriously. Im 37 and i find people take wise cracks at me still and dont take me serious, girls seem to walk away not giving me half a chance. so im also getting that surgery soon

  • how much does it cost dude ?

can u give me a range or somethin' ,

    thnx ,

  • the fold looks fucking ridicules for me

  • The normal ear has a fold in the cartilage called the antihelix. This is commonly absent under-developed in patients who seek otoplasty. As a result of the otoplasty procedure, our patient has now a natural appearing ear fold and a better positioning of the ears.

  • ummm i have a quistion, .. there is no way that this surgery could be faild ? or the ear get back to the way it was after couple of years ??

  • The goal of otoplasty is to reshape the ear cartilage. We perform this reshaping with sutures convincing the cartilage to take on a new shape (for instance, a fold). Sometimes, small segments of excess cartilage have to be removed. Although any surgical procedure has its risks, failure of otoplasty should be an extremely rare occurrence.

  • thanks for explaining man.....and u look good now hehe, now u can have a lot of girls lol...

  • where is this doctor?

  • i had my otoplasty surgery when i was eight years old, i am now 17. i cant believe how amazing your ears look after just six weeks!!! i had alot of complications, i had blood clots in both ears and had the bandages on for 3months, and had bad scarring for years afterwards. but i know how you feel about wanting it done, im so glad my parents let me have it done at such a young age because i got bullied as a child for it :)

yeah, so just sharing my experience over this :)

    tina xo

  • based on my research, i found that most of the treatment is addressing the antihelic fold that is flattened or not present on the ear. my question is: what about my ears that actually have this "normal fold" and yet are large?

  • You may have large ear bowls, a.k.a. cavum conchae. This is the concave part of the ear between the antihelix and the ear canal. In approximately 50 percent of patients, the size of the cavum needs to be reduced. In the presence of a normal antihelix, this maybe the issue.
