I love the matter-of-fact attitude of this poem, and the lack of sentimentality in the delivery, or maybe it was the other way around. :-) The postcard/pretty moment metaphor is excellent. You must have worked long and hard on this one to achieve this paradoxically uncontrived feeling, and I am most favourably impressed!! Once again quite glad I decided to sub. Wouldn't have wanted to miss this.

Yes, it's very interesting to hear yourself say your poems. At least for me, they sound so much better when said out loud. I said mine for the first time at a Poetry Slam the other day and was surprised at how they sounded.

Agreed! I performed poetry for the first time in December and was so surprised by how it felt. I think I write to speak more often than to read, and I'm loving the new medium!
