@TearsOfWar1 I can certainly say that mine two have had great pleasure and comfort from each other, I'd say the biggest downside is the litterbox fills faster, but that's about it ;)
@AlwaysThere4YouX I'm not a ferret expert but I did have a ferret named Lilly up until a few months ago. Lilly herself was about $100 dollars but including litter, food, the cage and a few other things, my initial price was up around $400. After that, you will need to continue to buy food/litter for her/him. As far as sneaking one in, I'm going to say no. Lilly had a very distinct smell, not a bad one, that eventually became pretty strong throughout the house. She was adorable though. Good luck!

Why are everyones ferrets bigger than mine? We have one fat boy, and two small girls who are all very healthy (well, except for the fatness in the boy, sigh) but every youtube video has large ferrets. My girls are light enough to perch on my shoulders.

It could be climate related. I lived in a warmer area before and my ferrets coats were pretty thin all year round. Moved to the cold man did they poof up lol. Girl ferrets are also about half the size of male ferrets.

@Pacfan98 it's quite soft, especially now in the winter time where they're about 2 times bigger, they're basically small fuzzy balls of furry terror, really soft hehe
Also depends on what you feed your ferret. The fur supplement makes their fur very soft but if you give them cat food and no extra vitamins they'll be rather coarse.
@Ferretchannel100 I had one, he didn't smell much, lol, is an animal, obviously if you stick your nose to him/her you will smell kinda weird. He smelled somewhat similar to a dog, but with much less intensity.
The bigger one is rather timid, but have an affection for canned cat foods, while the samller one is inquisitive and reckless, and loves to sniff at my whisky glass ;)

@krew2662 these two are both male, in fact they're from the same litter, so they have always been together. sometimes they sleep apart during the day, but at night they almost always sleep together :)

@xbearcanrockx That is not true at all. Who ever told you that is not smart lol. Ferrets are very playful. I have 4, they all have different personalities. Some bit harder than others but its not to harm you thats just how they play. And every animal bites hard sometimes. I have actually seen cats and dogs get along with ferrets. Just make sure you get a cat and dog that are good incase they try to attack the ferret lol

@Kantasyxx there's those ferret adoption place in my city and there are new ones going in all the time and ones getting adopted all the time. i really wanted one and i was reading this description of one named "Biggie" who likes to cuddle on the couch with u when u watch TV cause he's also kinda like a "couch potato" and i was like I WANT THAT ONE. but unfortunately he was adopted! ferrets can develop an illness that's expensive to treat, they only live 10 years =(

@xbearcanrockx I recently had a ferret for years that passed and she lasted about 8 years and those last moments she had she held on strong! But when we took her to the vet and such it only cost about $120-150 bucks, I think in other places its much more. A lot of ferrets ARE cuddly though, they love attention! :D

@Kantasyxx So I guess it depends on how well u take care of them and monitor their diets. I even got a pamphlet on them and there are soo many rules. u need to ferret proof ur house the same way as a baby. cover the outlets and makes sure the couches don't get holes. make sure they don't chew on electrical wires. you'd have to monitor them 24/7.

Ferrets are like little babies, they need a lot of attention, they are very curious so if they see any holes they wont ever forget about it and always go there until they found out what it is. I usually let my ferrets run free. I dont think giving them fruits is the best, at least i dont give my ferrets that stuff. They can end up getting sick.
@xbearcanrockx Yes thats right, have to be careful. And yeah i dont give my ferrets none of that just regular ferret food, I also dont give them that crappy ferret food that brings pieces of different fruits and such its not good for them
@Kantasyxx sounds like u are very experienced with ferrets. are they perfectly healthy with no diseases? the adoption agency has like 65 up for adoption. most if not all, have health problems. that makes it sound like its a common thing and easy for it to develop. that must make them hard to handle. i wonder what causes these illnesses? bad, habits, accidents or is it all random?
@xbearcanrockx Having a ferret is ALOT of commitment, i would really recommend you going to you local library and lend some books on basic care of mice and ferrets, read them all. Then consider what is the right pet for you, and when you then get it, you will get so much more joy of it since you know how to take care of it.
Cute ferrets you have! I just got mine Thursday, 8-12-2010! She's around 9 weeks old. She gives me kisses a LOT in the face. Over 90% of that is on my lips. She may be kinda rough when playing but she's very affectionate toward me, and those kisses are the way she shows her affection toward me.

I hope not, I plan to have a dog, a cat and a ferret. But I won't be able to deal with the ferret trying to kill the cat, not cool. I would have to keep them in separate rooms, give them their own rooms and spoil them :P

@xbearcanrockx That is not true at all. Who ever told you that is not smart lol. Ferrets are very playful. I have 4, they all have different personalities. Some bit harder than others but its not to harm you thats just how they play. And every animal bites hard sometimes. I have actually seen cats and dogs get along with ferrets. Just make sure you get a cat and dog that are good incase they try to attack the ferret lol

but after watching "Marley & Me" i am sure any dog can be messed up like that so how do we train them and get them to listen. i take pets over kids, but i believe they can both make you go crazy...

@Kantasyxx there's those ferret adoption place in my city and there are new ones going in all the time and ones getting adopted all the time. i really wanted one and i was reading this description of one named "Biggie" who likes to cuddle on the couch with u when u watch TV cause he's also kinda like a "couch potato" and i was like I WANT THAT ONE. but unfortunately he was adopted! ferrets can develop an illness that's expensive to treat, they only live 10 years =(

i heard the people who feed their dogs the kibbles aren't any healthier than the ones who feed them T-Bone steaks. so it's the same. what about mice? i think they're pretty cute, I'd just be concerned of them trying to escape the cage, my mother says they have teeth that can bite through the metal cages =\

@xbearcanrockx I recently had a ferret for years that passed and she lasted about 8 years and those last moments she had she held on strong! But when we took her to the vet and such it only cost about $120-150 bucks, I think in other places its much more. A lot of ferrets ARE cuddly though, they love attention! :D

but what are the chances of them developing the illness that makes them lose all their fur that makes them look like a naked mole rat ?
that's why I wouldn't get a white one, they'd look old and dying when they're really not.

@Kantasyxx So I guess it depends on how well u take care of them and monitor their diets. I even got a pamphlet on them and there are soo many rules. u need to ferret proof ur house the same way as a baby. cover the outlets and makes sure the couches don't get holes. make sure they don't chew on electrical wires. you'd have to monitor them 24/7.
what about food, is bananas bad for them?

@xbearcanrockx Yes thats all true. Ferrets are like little babies, they need a lot of attention, they are very curious so if they see any holes they wont ever forget about it and always go there until they found out what it is. I usually let my ferrets run free. I dont think giving them fruits is the best, at least i dont give my ferrets that stuff. They can end up getting sick.

So if fruits make them sick then it's probably best to stick to the pet food they are given.

@Kantasyxx sounds like u are very experienced with ferrets. are they perfectly healthy with no diseases? the adoption agency has like 65 up for adoption. most if not all, have health problems. that makes it sound like its a common thing and easy for it to develop. that must make them hard to handle. i wonder what causes these illnesses? bad, habits, accidents or is it all random?

@xbearcanrockx Having a ferret is ALOT of commitment, i would really recommend you going to you local library and lend some books on basic care of mice and ferrets, read them all. Then consider what is the right pet for you, and when you then get it, you will get so much more joy of it since you know how to take care of it.

Cute ferrets you have! I just got mine Thursday, 8-12-2010! She's around 9 weeks old. She gives me kisses a LOT in the face. Over 90% of that is on my lips. She may be kinda rough when playing but she's very affectionate toward me, and those kisses are the way she shows her affection toward me.

A few years ago a couple went out for
dinner. later that night the babysitter called and asked if she could pit a sheet over the clown statue in the kids bedroom the father said "get the kids out of the house and I'll call the police , we don't own a clown statue" it turned out that the clown was a murderer that escaped from jail.
