Sometimes I really wish they'd just do away with the songs, but this was an awesome episode and between this cute song and "too many dicks on the dancefloor" this is probably the best song episode that they made, outside of the episodes in the first season where they used their best comedy material. These guys are brilliant, but if you think they're better live then you ARE the character Mel. Their songs are much better mixed for the shows, regardless of which came first, the song or the show. I can hardly get through a whole song when they're sitting on stools on a stage.

Personally, I think some songs are better live, and some are better on the show. Example: I LOVE the show's version of "if You're Into It", but I much prefer the HBO live version of the "Hiphopopotamus vs. the Rhymenoceros"..I didn't care much for the version on the show.

Season 1 songs were written way before the show even got produced. They wrote the stories around the songs. Season 2 was harder for them because they wrote the songs around the stories. They basically went through they're back catalog of songs in season 1, giving them a challenge to be more creative this season. With that said, they missed a crazy opportunity to use Bus Driver's Song in "New Zealand Town" :(
