    w w w codepinkforpeace com

  • This bitch has the Crazy Eye.

  • That is one mixed up bitch. She needs to smoke a couple more dubbies before her next incantation.

  • How do you feel about the Afgahnistan War, the Iraq War, and the ongoing resource wars in Africa?

  • Left Wing Moon Bat!!!! Worthless piece od shit!

  • I'm awed by your logic.

  • Isn't it something, Annie?

  • wow. she HAS to be wasted.

  • People can be very professional about doing things that should not be done. These, to my mind, include the Afghanistan War, the Iraq War, and all the projection of U.S. Military force which now come under the umbrella of what I consider the totally false and ridiculous "Global War on Terrorism." People can pursue these wars very professionally, but that does not mean that they should be pursued.

  • I would've honked at you too. You were incoherent, ranting about a multitude of things. I'm assuming the officials in that room knew something of what you were talking about, but WTF do you hope to achieve by posting this for public consumption when the only thing that made sense to a normal person is that the military supposedly is taking "immigrants" and "poor" off the streets and shipping them to fight our wars? Even this is off-base, since the military recruits from all strata of society.

  • A more appropriate starting point for some of the more "excited" sentiments or "debates" here, and perhaps one which more closely resembles that which we all primarily swear our oaths, the U.S. Constitution, can easily be summed up as:

"I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it."

-Voltaire, (Attributed); originated in "The Friends of Voltaire", 1906, by S. G. Tallentyre (Evelyn Beatrice Hall) French author, (1694 - 1778)

  • You Tube Voltaire! I love it! Peacemom Cindy Sheehan came down to the San Francisco Board of Supervisors with me about this yesterday, but it dragged on for so long that Cindy had to go to an interview and I had to stay and speak for both of us---in two minutes instead of four. More You Tubes coming, including Cindy, even though she wasn't there. Also just spoke to the President of the Board of Supervisors, who said he'd consider replacing the HONK!!! with something more respectful. Annie

  • TheNewWave27 is right on. If you don't treasure the freedoms that the military personnel of past and present have protected for you, and since you do in fact hate America, then get the fuck out of the here. And take all of the commie pinkos in the Berkley City Council with you.

  • I've been thinking about that Blue Angel pilot who guided the Boeing FA-18E fighter bomber away from the crowds and into the woods, knowing it was going to crash, around Beaufort, South Carolina last spring. He probably could have parachuted out and let the plane land where it would, but he went down with the plane, knowing that there would be no trace of his body left to bury after it crashed into a fiery explosion. I admire the decision, and the courage and wish it were put to better use.

  • We are NOT Communists. YOU are sadly misinformed. And we DO treasure the rights and freedoms the CONSTITUTION gave us, the military has no authority to grant any rights or freedoms.

  • It takes one nanosecond to see that this woman is a liberal whack-job.

Ann Garrison: if you hate the Blue Angels, the U.S. military, and your country -- then move to China, you hate-filled, bug-eyed communist.

  • The Blue Angels disrupt the peaceful, beautiful City of San Francisco, scare children and animals, and achieve nothing except to draw in more young men and women to die in an illegal war. And we are NOT Communists, nor do any of us hate our country. We want an illegal war ended, and the criminals in the Executive Branch jailed.

  • I didn't know afghanistan was an illegal war

oh thats right your narrow minded self probably forgot about the legitimate battles the military people fight. giving up the military will not suddenly cause other nations to not commit acts of war against the US

  • Iraq, I never said Afghanistan. Who's the narrow-minded self who forgets things?

  • Oh yeah, I was on another site....4Peace4All is for YouTube, Splearty is for something else.......same person.

  • of course you never did say afghanistan

military recruits people to fight in afghanistan, not just iraq. if you remembered this, you shouldn't be opposed to military recruiting for the LEGAL war that is afghanistan.... you know the LEGAL war waged against the people that actually attacked US soil.... good god, do you want the US to just bend over backwards for anyone that is displeased with our policies? theres no use in having our own country if that is what you believe

  • Well said, and 4peace4all's suggestion that the Blue Angel's "achieve nothing" (save that which offends 4peac4all), shows a general disregard for the courage, honor, tradition of excellence and sacrifice of the U.S. Air Force.

  • Scientifikally, the Blue Angels represent the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps not the Air Force, their Jet Demonstration team is the Thunderbirds.

  • Thanks iamtheinsider--an important distinction. I guess what I was trying to say was, "tradition of excellence and sacrifice 'in [all] the U.S. military aviation forces'".

Thanks for the heads-up/clarification but perhaps the larger point that you illuminate is the [expensive] competition and rivalry for recruitment and defense appropriations (in general) among the various armed forces divisions themselves.

  • ScientifiKally?? What does "science" have to do with your statement? Don't you mean, "Technically"?

  • Ah, I see, someone who can't spell, used "scientifically" as their nick.

  • lol-yah "Technically" would be a great "nick"! "Scientifically", (properly spelled) was already taken. So was, "stupidignorantunresearchedfool", so I settled on "Scientifikally", with a "k".

Lately, I find it a hard nick to live up to.

btw, which "statement" by me are you referring to? I've made several...

  • Someone else on here made a statement TO you, starting with your "nick", I saw it too and misunderstood it for a moment. The way the sentence was written, had it been what it first seemed, it should have begun with "Technically, if blah blah blah..." I, too, wondered why you'd spell your nick that way. So, ARE you a researcher, if so, what field?

  • No, it doesn't. The Blue Angels serve the purpose of pulling in more of our children to go to other countries to be killed. I don't care about you feelings on "courage, honor, tradition of excellence......". I consider the Blue Angels to be a noisy and dangerous interruption of my City, one day they WIILL make a mistake and crash into a building.

  • I'm against ALL wars. Opposed to ALL recruiting. And no, I don't want the USA to "bend over backwards", I simply want Peace instead of "War". It's a simply concept, truly. And for your info, if we have to be somewhere, Afghanistan is where we SHOULD be, because Iraq never did a thing to the USA, and we've destroyed their country and at last count killed 1.2M of their civilian, driven out another 4M.

  • "I'm against ALL wars."

    -4Peace4All

And yet it was "war" itself that led you to the small space wherein which you reside--the tiny, precious bit of space which you, alone, occupy and control.

Everything that you are, you owe to war. For your very existence, you have only war to give thanks. War is pure. It's what distinguishes men from beasts. To deny war, is to surrender to all that pervades the infinity of space which surrounds you--and that which lies beyond the confines of your control.

  • WHOA, very strange philosophy "developed"! I'm Buddhist, we don't look at it QUITE like that re the "tiny, precious bit of space" within ourselves. It's about peace, love, compassion, karma. I owe NOTHING to war. War has done nothing for humankind than to murder, maim, rape, destroy, extinguish entire cultures. And animals, of various kinds, have "wars" all the time, obviously you've never studied any anthropology. Perhaps you could try opening up that space within your self, and your mind, too.

  • lol, the "Gong Show". You should wear a paper bag over your head (full-face cut-out of course) next time and post it.

    Great job.

  • Thanks, Scientifically, but could you please explain the plastic bag reference? I obviously missed something. Someone's telling me that it's what you do to say you're ashamed of where you live and what you're responsible for. But the only example they could give was fans of a losing team, wearing paper bags on their heads, and I hate that example, because most of the world is losing. Any other examples that would make this suggestion more logical to me? --Annie

  • The "paper bag" (not plastic), was a reference to the former Hollywood "Gong Show" during which a person known as the "Unknown Comic" appeared regularly wearing a paper bag over his head (two eye slots cut out) and telling one-liners (you can easily search the vids here on utub).

The suggestion was rhetorical, however, should one actually be inclined follow thru, the "full-face cut-out" might be appropriate so as not to pique the ire of the authorities.

  • Note NewWave27's comments above. I'm starting to wonder whether I might be able to get myself assassinated before this is over. I just sent NewWave27's comments to our Board of Supervisors.

But, thanks for the info re the original Gong Show. Someone else assured me that the paper bag was supposed to suggest that I'm ashamed to live here, in San Francisco. Seems it's been employed in some anti-war protests I missed. Peace out---AnnieGetYourGang

  • You SHOULD wear a paper bag on your head. You should be ashamed of yourself since you look and sound like a complete moron. But maybe you can't help it: Liberalism is a mental disorder.

  • I'm not a liberal.

  • No, you're not a liberal because liberals are merely left-wing loons who have a mental disorder.

You sound more like a Marxist Bolshevik and highly likely a member of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union.

  • And you came to this conclusion HOW? Ann does not have a mental disorder, and she most definitely is a liberal, right along with me. Neither of us are Marxists or Communists, nor a "member of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union".

  • Hey, Kevin; i must know you from some Bay Area organization; it seems like I recognize your e-, but can't place your face. Last night at Cindy for Congress campaign headquarters, I kicked off a petition drive to get an initiative on the ballot that would make Fleet Week and the Blue Angels unwelcome in and around the City and County of San Francisco. I'll be at Cindy and Sean Penn's event at Unitarian Universalist on Franklin, in San Francisco, at 5:00 P.M. on Sunday to collect signatures.

  • Liberalism is definitely NOT a mental disorder, but making comments like yours IS. Ann is anything but a "moron", and that stupid comment about wearing a paper bag is beneath contempt. She has NOTHING to be ashamed of.

  • I think Scientifikally was kidding about the paper bag. It seems to be a reference to the old Gong Show. He's generally been quite supportive here, though I don't quite understand his remark about the "4 dead in Ohio."

  • Neither do I, and I just challenged him/her to explain how I'm an "absurd, half-cocked, rabid....." etc etc.

  • Annie, levity and anecdota are often "misjudged" in print.

My suggesting that "Ohio" be played back in place of the "gong" was a tribute to the students who died--a reminder to the city council (some who may not remember), how recent generations suffered in the struggle to "be heard".

The suggestion by another here that I find their deaths "amusing" would be insulting if not for its absurdity and perhaps belies an underlying propensity toward unnecessary, non-productive friction.

  • Yeah, I was a little confused but figured you;d been interpreed wrongly. I filed my ballot initiative about this Thursday and was on KTVU today, but haven't been able to get it up on the You Tube yet. I'll send it to you if you want to send me your e-. It's a cinch from KTVU. They make it really easy to e-mail a segment.

  • I have noticed that the San Francisco Bay area produces the freakiest bunch of America haters in the world...worse than France even. The Berkeley city council's resolution against the Marine Recruiters really turned out well for them, don't you think?

    Signed. Sacrificing for your freedom

    From Baghdad, Iraq

  • The debate about the war(s), or the Blue Angels--or the Berkley City council notwithstanding, the adjunct point Annie illustrates is the "gonging" of citizens who speak in a public forum regardless of the topic or grievance.

Perhaps a more pleasant, subtle, ring tone is more appropriate--(lol) or maybe the distorted-guitar intro to Neil Young's classic, 70's rebel ballad, "Ohio".

  • I went down to speak to the Supes again today and it was so exhausting that I didn't even have the strength to yell "HONK TO YOU TOO!" at the end. But, at least that made me resolve to remember that every effort to speak to these people should end this way till they replace the "HONK!" with something more respectful of us, the citizenry. -Annie

  • I guess you find it amusing that 4 died in Ohio, shot down by inexperienced and freaked-out National guardsmen. One of those 4 was a dear friend of mine. I can't seem to find anything funny about it at all, since she never had a chance to live a full life because of some idiot's "order".

  • "I guess you find it amusing that 4 died in Ohio..."

Rather, I find it amusing that you're a "peace advocate" while shooting from the hip with that absurd, half-cocked, rabid judgment.

    You need a vacation.

  • What are you talking about, or do you even know, "Skientifikally"? What "absurd, half-cocked, rabid judgment"? Why don't you explain it to us? I don't GET vacations, I work all the time.

  • Well said jimboking. Thank you sir - for serving our country!

  • And lest we forget--a special note of recognition, gratitude and solidarity to the soldiers sacrificing in the war which even Ron (Dr. "No") Paul (aka, the "forgotten" candidate), actually voted "yes" in support of:

    Utub: "Going Nowhere - Afghanistan"

  • We don't hate the USA, quite the opposite, we want our troops home alive and whole, and hopefully without PTSD for the rest of their lives.

  • SO GLAD someone is standing up and telling the Supervisors what the Blue Angels are really doing in San Francisco. Something else they're doing--scaring and pulling up bad memories for thousands of SF residents and visitors. There are people here who are refugees from war, and veterans of war, and even 9-11 victims who are badly affected each time the warplanes--and war is NOT patriotic, by the way--go over. It's time to join civiization and stop. And I come from a military aviation family.

  • The Blues have never attempted to hide the fact that their main function in the Navy is recruiting, it's on their website and in their own show narration. They take pride in it. They don't recruit for the war. They recruit for the Navy. They happen to enjoy showing the people of this country (including SF) their dedication to professionalism and excellence. If you have a problem with the war then protest the war not the VOLUNTEERS that defend your rights

Also, I agree that the gong is harsh.

  • It's amazing that the entire rest of the country seems to understand that the Blue Angles are about military recruitment; the recruiters who come here don't wear military uniforms. But, nevertheless, this city has still been hugely oblivious about this since the Blue Angels began coming in 1981.

I admire volunteers for valuable public service. My only problem is with the imperial super-rich recruiting nd sending them to die in imperial wars.

    --AnnieGetYourGang

  • You are welcome to your opinion, Annie. However, you should understand we do have an all volunteer service. The poor, and immigrants you speak of have a choice. The military offers benefits which every veteran who sacrifices deserves. We make this sacrifice of our own free will. I'm a minority, and have served in the military for about 12 years now (marines and air force, reserves and guard). I've received a college education, virtually for free. I made my choice freely, as do others.

  • I must also state that, air shows serve 2 purposes. Chiefly, yes, as recruitment tools. Like it or not, whether there are wars or not, the military needs good, quality people, of all economic strides (majority of the military do not come from poor/minority groups). But also, it is to display the hardware tax payers pay for. Again, like it or not, a good majority of Americans want to see what they have paid for, and displays offer that opportunity.

  • Strange that I just picked this up, nine months later. I've known people who made the sacrifice of their own free will, as did Casey Sheehan, although he tried to insist that he was a mechanic, a non-combatant, just before he was killed.

I'd love to see some sort of public service that offered college education as its reward, but I'm hugely opposed to the Iraq War, the Afghanistan War, and the U.S. war on Africa, waged with proxy African armies, and U.S. military bases.

  • Heya Annie,

I think that's the biggest disconnect between those that serve and the civilian pop. There is really no such thing as a "non-combatant" role in the military. We all know that, although there are those who try to fool themselves (or their families) to make them feel better. There are jobs where your chances of having an active combat role are less than likely. But a mortar round or IED doesn't care about your job. Everyone knows the risks, and they do.

  • ... all that said, I definately think there should be more services to reward citizens, ESPECIALLY teachers! Teachers should be allowed to continue their education for free, in my opinion. Someday (not in our lifetimes, though) there will come a time where people will see the futility in fighting. But, I knew this when I was a young 17 year old going into the Marine Corps, and after my last deployment, there are people out there who don't care about our policies, and have their own agendas.

  • The "imperial super-rich" like Daschle, Oprah, Steisand, Sarros, etc.?!

    You phony imperial slut.

  • What sort of professionalism and excellence are you referring to? Professional what? Excellence at what? Thanks for your agreement about the HONK.

  • Merriam-Webster:

    (A) Professional: 1 a: of, relating to, or characteristic of a profession b: engaged in one of the learned professions (1): characterized by or conforming to the technical or ethical standards of a profession (2): exhibiting a courteous, conscientious, and generally businesslike manner in the workplace

    (B) Cunt: 1. Usually disparaging & obscene 2. Ann Garrison

  • You really ARE quite the nasty one, aren't you? There's nothing disparaging or obscene about Ann, only about your putting that totally unnecessary "comment" in. Well, at least we know you can sort of use a dictionary, since you got the first definition correct, (A) above.

  • I'm not quite sure how to respond to this. I thought it was pretty apparent that the members of the Blue Angels (and the rest of the military) are constantly striving for an unattainable perfection and excellence. They know that it's unattainable, but they still get up everyday and try to do their job better than they did it the day before. This endless dedication is the main strategy units like the Blues use to inspire young patriotic Americans to give their country the gift of military service

  • What job?

  • RE- iamthensider/annigetyourgang discussion:

Annie, if you're open-minded and want to learn more about the concept of professionalism in the military, I recommend the very well-written and sober analysis of Col. Anthony Hartle in Moral Issues in Military Decision Making (ISBN 0700613218). In addition to addressing the concept of military leadership's ethical responsibilities in war, it also devotes a full chapter to the concept of professionalism and how it works in the military.

  • darnitalltohell, don't bother. She clearly hates the military and would rather live in a USA with no Armed Services. She will never understand what it means to serve this country and be a part of something greater than herself. She will just stay in her little corner of the world and live out the rest of her sad life of hate, ignorance, and ungratefulness. Don't waste your time on her. I know exactly what kind of person she is and I will keep on defending her right to stupidity.

  • Count me in on not wanting a military in this country or any other. I know Peace is an extremely difficult concept for so many of you warmongers to understand, but that is what we want. We do NOT hate, it's against everything we believe in. Annie doesn't HAVE a "sad life of hate, ignorance, and ungratefulness". I believe you must be talking about yourself. And the military does not defend our rights, the Constitution does.

  • Annie I'm not going to go down this road with you. I know what you're trying to do. I just want you to know that despite your vapid disapproval of the military and the brave volunteers who stood up and took an oath to protect and defend this country, I will still suit up every day and follow the orders that come to me. If you hate me for that, well I feel sorry for you. Thank you for exercising the rights I defend for you, it makes it all worth it.

  • I do not hate you in the least. I've give a great deal of thought to the Blue Angels pilot who crashed the Boeing FA-15E bomber he was flying in the Blue Angela Air Show recruitment effort in Beaufort, South Carolina, last spring. He could have parachuted out to save his own life, but instead he guided that plane to a crash in some woods to spare civilians, knowing full well that there would be no trace of his body left even to bury. That was heroic. Write back if you care to understand more.

  • Hey Annie, the Blue Angels are F/A-18's not 15's. Judging by the comments on this page and the other videos of you opposing the Blue Angels its pretty clear that most of the people disagree with you.

  • Loud nasty jets suck!

Peace should be the only motivation in world politics.

War should always be the last resort.

The Bush administration willfully lied to the American people so they could have their glorious genocide in Iraq.

Shouldn't they be taken to task?

  • Thank you so much. I was gettin' killed on DIGG, but the comment just before this was the first I received on the You Tube from a military enthusiast. So nice to get your support just a moment later. Africom, the plan to build permanent mjilitary bases in every African country except Egypt, is about the imperial wars for Africa's vast mineral wealth, especially that of the Congo, which is probably the most mineral rich region on earth. Thanks much.

  • What idiocy. The Blue Angels are great, the armed forces have a right and a duty to recruit -- and they don't recruit only the poor, either. American soldiers based in Congo would, if they took any action, undoubtedly SAVE lives. This woman is obviously pathetic.

  • In the bay area the vast majority of their recruits are either poor or illegal immigrants looking for citizenship.

The Clinton welfare reforms have created a so called "poverty draft".

  • You rock, Ann. My bro. in law leaves SF when the Blue Angels come because the noise gives him migraine. What about all the people who can't afford to leave for the week? Last time I saw/heard the Blue Angels, there were people with PTSD ducking for cover. It was terrible.

  • That's funny. Down with the honk!

  • right on , Ann--screw the honk! and screw the blue angels!
