contrary to popular belief, they do a fair bit of hardcore physical training, are EXTREMELY strong and rather quick (as you can see)

but sumo wrestling itself does look quite pathetic, lets face it.

these guys have good discipline and stamina, they should try BOXING, i think an ex-sumo who has been trained in boxing would be a reasonable boxer, quick enough and nigh on impossible to knock out due to his weight.

I'm from America, and I while back I read an interesting article about an amateur sumo club near me. The thing is, it had some huge people, and people under 200 lbs. It talked about how the playing styles are different with different people, and described a match between a 180 lb. person and a 300+ lb. person, and how the big guys use force and the smaller guys rely on quick maneuvers. The photo of the match between small vs. large guy looked kinda funny, and the small guy won!
