  • AHAHAHa 0:23 FUCK YOU ! :D

  • I LOVE IT!! MUSE I LOVE YOU AND IM SO DRUNK RIGHT NOW.. AND U SOUND SEXY... i don't care if my hubby don't like you.. im listening to u tonight... ahh

  • 0:23 ~ Matt is silently saying "Fuck you all"..... xD

  • Have anybody noticed some guys legs? i mean on 1:09, 2:24, 2:54,3:22 and other moments

  • 2:07 "I love you, man... you're my best friend"

  • Incase anyone ever forgets why Muse is your favorite band...just watch this

  • @ninjabanana1 He so stole the song from himself lol

  • Matt's so weird...totally love it

  • i love it how the textures super thin in the verses, then in the chorus is all heavenly, in a way. its such a fucking magical song

  • it was all the drugs they did :D thats why they where crazier <3<3 haha when they recorded this song on shrooms :D

  • I love the way Plug in Baby has evolved over the years until its release on Origin of Symmetry. But i really wish it had stayed this way, the ending is so amazing, i mean it is on the released version but this.... it's just too incredible

  • New album kind of grows on you and there are still the screams and shut on the new album, ops and absolution as well as Showbiz are my favorite especially hullabaloo set gig and cd

  • @ninjabanana1 OMFG it's true, its him!

  • I think I may have found my new favourite version of this song! :D

  • Hahahaha. Middle finger

  • I think he should use the same vocal effect nowadays as he does from 3:14 till the end

  • @bobek3x

You can hear a bit of the delay effect in the studio version of for example guiding light..

  • @hondansr91 Yeah but I mean he should use it for PIB live instead of the weird fuzzy effect he uses now...the delay really makes it sound really REALLY epic...I'm starting to like this version way more..it has a lot more feeling and emotions..

  • @bobek3x

What he used for the studio version and forever since is a fuzz factory, which he has built in in almost every guitar he owns. And yes, i agree with you, the old versions are awesome, they are longer, and I really like his high vocals, but I really think they changed it for the better, for example the intro, when the drums and bass kicks in much later than the studio version, and also the ending..but that's my opninion, we both know muse are legendary no matter what :)

  • 2:06 I wanna HUG!!!!

  • Wow. This sound with only 3 people. Amazing or what.

  • It's official. Muse are the greatest band ever - their security use water guns.

  • @GOR225 3:33 have some of that!!! :P

  • 3:31 water gun? :D

  • Anyone else prefer this to the OoS version?

  • These lyrics have been changed from the other early versions lol. You closed your eyes baby. You're gonna break my compromise. Don'tcha know, that I'm changing and cleansing everything to forget your love. Come on! God is in me Yeah, yeah. God is in me in unbroken virgin realities. I'm tired of living. Yeah, yeah. Please don't break us, please don't take my love. And I've been in trouble but you're gone. Ahh ahhh. Oooh, and I've seen your loving, mine's gone. And I've seen your loving, whaaa!

  • Beyond cool!

  • It's so cool!

I mean, seen Matt so young an looking kid like, but heard him with that gigantic voice!

    This version kicks ass!

  • WAYYYYYYYYYYYYY BETTER

  • LMAO 0:06..... FUCK OFF _|__

  • from 3:02 onwards, his vocals sound amazinggg! :D

  • LOL Water GUNS !!!!!!

  • The Guitar is a Yamaha Pacifica 120SJ, I think the Mansons were based on it.

  • Really? I always hear "And I feel broken next to you" in all three early virsions I've seen..

  • lol matt is so adorkable in these early vids. luv

  • on the upper right corner says "plug"...lol

  • Unbwoken virgin wrealities, so cute!! (Also, I think he says "God is in me").

  • Does anyone know if this entire performance at Astoria can be bought on DVD, because each song they played is a masterpiece, and should be available?!

  • the guitar is like a tele-manson :S

  • Posted a comment on this vid 2 years ago :P Jesus, were is all the gain in the amp! Its gone missing :P

  • pause at 0.25!

  • @killerkite333 , loooooooooool!!! =D

  • haha nice bass effects chris :P Also, doesn't matt always look like he's flipping everyone off when he plays this song?

  • 3:33 security guard with a water gun...?!

  • yeh, it's for the crowds, better than avenged sevenfold..they used a jug on us :(

  • at 1:24 i understand the first few times i listend to it: "Dom is in me!" OMFG hahahaaa looolz^^ what did understood?! :) ;)

  • SHIT! you´re right!! when I first read ur comment I was like wtf!? haha, but I can actually hear it now! good ears you got! you should listen to some of the reversed Muse-songs some people have made here on YT and try to make out new verses and stuff, like hidden backwards lyrics, it´s good fun!

  • thx for the compliment!!^^ luv :) "DOM IS IN MEEEH!!"

  • he says god is in me

  • i know--- i just thought so! >:(

  • @BELLAMYandHOWARDfan god is in me, and im in virtual reality

  • @TandBcomedycreators yes, i know!! :P "god is in me" and then you are wrong! It is "in unbroken virgin realities"!

  • @BELLAMYandHOWARDfan look up "plug in baby demo" click it and click more info. its "god was in me, and im in virtual reality"

  • @BELLAMYandHOWARDfan I understood it too thats funny

  • @BELLAMYandHOWARDfan Dom is in meeee, in unbroken virgin reality

haha it does tells the truth

  • sooo cuuuuuuuuute!!^^

  • 3:00- the end was one of the original endings of the song. This ending went, "Please, don't break us, please don't change. My love. And I've been in trouble without you! Aaah aaah! Oooohh! And I've seen your loving! Mine is gone! And I've been in trouble! Aaah!" The other version would go, "Your truths are coming in and I feel broken without you. And I've been in trouble, baby it's right. Oooh and I've seen your loving. Mine is gone. And I've been in trouble, whaaaaa!" Check em' out!

  • Plug In Baby's come a long way ^_^

  • wht happened at 3:31?? 0___o sooooo cute!!!^^^^

  • omg I mean maybe that moment isn´t so special to everyone but for meee OMG haha, I mean just look at the desperation he expresses at that moment!! It´s right after the "ooooo"-part lol he sings something like "well I" or "when I" with that trembling highpitched voice!! dear lord, such a wonderful moment! watch it again and you´ll notice...I hope! haha...but the WHOLE epic feeling starts already at 3:05 but reaches it´s peak att 3:31 and onwards in my opinion!

  • LOL! I´m totally obsessed with the 3:31-moment! I don´t know how many times I´ve watched it!! It´s just something with the desperation Matt expresses in his voice and bodylanguage...epicness when it´s at it best!

  • I freakin burst out in TEARS at 3:31 and cried like a baby to the end of the performance...and then some more!!!! god, one of the most beautiful things I´ve ever witnessed/heard!

  • Oh wow, that was awesooooooome!!! I had chills and goosebumps, and this wave of emotion came over me,especially when he goes into his falsetto, omg,Beast!!! I just gotta say,Dom is one kickass drummer, omg,he's drummin his heart out,the sheer intensity on his face is just well,I'm speechless, one of the best performances I've seen, everrrrrrrr!!! ^__^

  • 1:06 i though matt was gonna randomly stage dive :L

  • This is probably my third or fourth comment on this video...

And still, I say the same thing...

This is the best I've ever seen/heard this song played...

    Simply amazing.

  • epic

  • nice trousars

  • lovin th jazz hands xD

  • Just to throw in another idea ha, in XFM interview about the making of origin of symmetry he said it was about giving up everything for music, most of all people and relationships.

  • was this just before getting hies manson guitars?

  • 3:04 0n is the most intense thing ever

  • actually 0:00 is the most intense thing ever

  • why?

  • Comment removed

  • Damn, did you just meet matt of all of em?

  • Who cares really about the meaning of their songs, They're just great songs!

  • He didn't write this song on mushrooms and the song isn't about nothing. The song has two meanings. First about computers taking over the world, we would be control of things with our minds (telekinesis). The other part (also the new versions) are about his guitar. Basically how it makes him powerful and invincible. No one would be able to stop him during "his battle". It's very interesting to speak with someone like Matt. Definately read up on Muse before making things up.

  • Actually if you do read him, Matt said in an interveiw that he wrote they wrote this song wile they were high on mushrooms and that they all ended up naked in a jacuzzi and he fell asleep in it and woke up deaf in one ear, he said they then worked on it and it came out like this

  • Of course that's what the interview says lol. Except after speaking with him myself, I'm going to go with what he told me. I did ask him about the interview you mentioned though and he said that he was kind of caught off guard and it was directly after the show back in 2002. He did not ever tell anyone he was on mushrooms lol. So he says anyway, but I believe him. I think if you knew him you'd probably understand.

  • Actually, he said he forgot what the song was about. Those two meanings were just theorized by fans.

  • jackle9 is probably lying to impress. If you had proof i'd believe you.

  • I have the same guitar! woooooh! Its great to play it jsut need other pickups!

  • See lamo

  • monkey413654654246 here, posted a comment 1 year ago, and I still listen to muse everyday cuz they fricken rock =D

  • He wrote this song on mushrooms. It's not about anything.

  • Thats just a silly rockstar stereotype. And even when a song is written whilst high, it doesnt mean theres no meaning to it. I heard Matt say in an interview that it is about his body (his plug in baby) seperating from his mind.

  • He's also said it's about other things in other interviews, and by now he admits he doesn't know what it's about. I think it's safer just to come up with your own meaning for it.

  • Well the songs does have a meaning behind their lyrics, but some musicians like to write lyrics who can have more than just one meaning behind them. It can be about alot of things, some says this song was about his guitar? Some about Internet Porn?

  • his voice is so beautiful here..

  • check out the pants

  • UNBWOKEN VIRGIN REALITIES!

    <3

  • hahaha half of this is in french

  • no it isnt? what are you on? can i have some?

  • that is like the most epic-est ending ever!!

  • the complete song is about putting love into something... err... that has no soul like a teddy bear or something like that (today maybe a computer).

  • He wrote the words to describe his fascination with his guitar. As a musician, your media is the only thing that is a constant and never fails.

He also created the guitar riff while on shrooms :D

  • i have to try shrooms!!!!!!!

  • lol how do you know where you in the room with him when he was taking shrooms?

  • we can't really be sure, he got pissed off with people asking what songs were about, one time he said Plug in baby was about genetically modifying a puppy!

  • Lol, that is pretty entertaining. It makes the most sense when you consider them about his guitar, but I prefer the genetically modified puppy idea!

  • what s that mean unbroken virgin ???

  • its unbroken virgin realities. i dunno what you do you think it means. The song as a whole is just completly randomn i think it was made for you to come up witha reason or meaning behind it.

  • :25 LOLLLLL

  • hell yea muse kicks ass early, old in between muse is and always will be the best!!! :D

  • you mean like origin of symmetry tour or absolution tour?

i my favorite gigs to watch are absolution tours

  • origin but still i think showbiz was amzing but absolution was also good

  • yea i think they had the most energy during origin tour

showbiz they were still getting comfortable on stage

brilliant live at any point really

  • ypu u got that right ;]

  • Except BHaR in my opinion. Twas boring and not 'rough' enough.

  • Freakin' awesome ;o

  • even in the year 2000 muse were better live than any other band

  • @alyfuturepilot **bester

  • por k3 kambiaron 3sta plugin baby p0r la k3 grabaron 3n studi0, 3sta mas xida 3sta

  • escibe bien!!

  • lmao.. itsays plug in the corner

  • best live of Plug in Baby

  • its a yamaha pacifica mate ;) lol, tho he probly did base his mansons on this shape?? :)

  • The very first Manson...

  • nah its a yamaha same shape though

  • It would be awesome if they did a studio version of this early version! It would be fantastic!

  • Oh my, Dom's tough :)))

  • JAZZ HANDS :D

  • One of his bests! Different lyrics! "You closed your eyes baby, you're gonna see my compromise, don'tcha know that I'm changing and cleansing everything to forget our love, come on!" "God is in me in those broken virgin realities. God was in me, yeah yeah!" The ending was very well done and he had some different wording there as well. "Please, don't break us please don't change my love, I've been in trouble without you!" That was pretty kool!

  • I don't think all of that is correct, but damn these lyrics are so much better than the album lyrics. And that build-up at the end.. Woah. Best Muse performance ever, of any song. I love this so much.

  • I promise you it's correct. I have all the lyrics to the all of the older versions of their songs. Including: Plug In Baby...4 versions to that song. Crying Shame has 4. Fury has 4. Futurism has 2. Starlight has 2. Too many songs to list!

  • Well I can't make out all of the lyrics you wrote down, but I believe you :P

  • Sunburn has also 2 versions or maybe more.

Can You PM me all older versions of lyrics (excluding Starlight)?

  • god! theyre so awesome...

i wish they will come to israel.. man, this is my dream.

  • omfg i love the last time he dose the riff hahahaha astho hes never played guitar befor hahahahah LOVE MUSE!!!

  • The ending is so climatic

  • agree

  • best version of my fave song what can get better ah yes its at the astoria aswell awesome

  • Man, this is the best version ever.

  • I know, I only listen to this version now if I ever feel like listening to plug in baby :P it's incredible.. whole of their astoria gig is the best tbh

  • Fans have to admit that Muse used to be way more unique and emotional then they are now. I mean just watch them play this entire vid. It gives me goosebumps really.

  • Yeah. I kind of wish they'd do less 'HUGE BUDGET! LASERS! CRAZY EFFECTS'! stuff and do more small venue shows. And I don't mean arenas and stadiums. I mean little venues that hold 300 people that would sell out in 5 minutes haha :D

  • Something smaller, indoors and underground would be awesome but I think that's all over.

Muse were so rough until Black Holes & Revelations. A shame. Absolution album was less rough already, but they really made it come to life with their awesome live performances. BHaR has none of that. I mean it's like popular BHaR songs just don't fit with older Muse work.

  • @CitizenErasedRulez I don't agree, if you look at the videos Muse is already pretty polished by the Absolution Tour.

  • @manco82

I agree Absolution Tour was already different. But it was still rocking. Matt sounded awesome. They turned the bass way up. Matt sounds boring now and more 'nasal' than ever. He can't go as high anymore. And in general I just feel like they perform with less energy and it just sounds worse. I don't listen to new muse concerts at all.

  • I ♥ love museeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Dom is immense in this video!

and this early version is amazing, and at the astoria! :D

  • does anyone else love 0:42 with a passion? awesome performance, proves how long muse has been amazing

  • Yes! Too awesome haha xD

  • Mind you, this slightly different then the Origin of symmetry version. This was played 2 years before the album was released.

  • the early lyrics are interesting.

"God is in me", right? ... strange stuff!

  • I think the "God is in me" stuff is very good, better than the later album version actually.. :)

And this is the best muse performance from muse before origin of symmetry imo.

  • Yeah I agree, this has to be the best version of plug in baby, it just seems so atmospheric and has so much soul to it

    Quite epic!

  • yea i think thier preforming tecnique had gotten better since this preformance. Muse is like the best live band EVERR!!!

  • There's something about this performance that I keep coming back to, I just love the way he sings it, and the echoing effect makes it so atmospheric.

  • lol its a good song the bass is a sound for background.

  • ahh!

what beautiful falsettos at the end :]

makes me all fuzzy inside ^____^

  • I like how no one has ever heard of this song in the video, nowadays people are goin mental to that riff.
