If i'm ever at an airport and see a squad (don't know what they're called) coming home like in this video, I will be the one starting to clap because it will make them feel like they did a good job keeping us safe. God bless the troops currently and non-currently serving! You guys are doing an amazing job!
actually this has happened to me when i went on leave and traveled through atlantia and when my unit came home from deployment we went through dallas a ton of people stood and claped i mean it was amazing and shocking.... youll never feel a greater feeling of thanks than you will when you are walking through the airport and it is almost like a never ending wave of clapping it was awsome
I have been a firefighter for 16 years now & whenever I see a military soldier he gets a thank you & a hand shake. You guys are the best & may God Bless & Guide All of You
i wonder if they used real soldiers in the commercial, that woulda been cool.... my husband serves and one of my army wife friends got a standing ovation when her hubby walked through the airport hall he kissed her and ppl started clapping... wish everyone could support our troops like this :(
this makes me cry everytime i see it. no one even seems to care that they are fighting for our freedon any more. i mean seriously, people need to give our troops any credit they earn. if it wasn't for them who knows where this country would be. heading to hell a lot faster than we are now. any time you see a soldier think about the family they are leaving behind to serve a country that half doesn't even care what happens. THANK YOU TO ALL SOLDIERS! GOD BLESS THE USA&ITS TROOPS!
Brokensyn779...i agree with you. I'm in the marine corps, and its gotten bad how America will put down there own kind like that. only you and your squad will know what you did for them. not everyone can be a soldier like us. I thank you for what you have done. and in my eyes, you will forever be a hero.
On my flight home from buring my mother. I was in line with a troop just getting home. I shook all thier hands, and hugged them all, and thanked them for thier service. Also told them of my time in, all of them thanked me back.

done for us. I live in Colorado Springs where we have the Mountain Post, Schreiver AFB, Peterson Field, The Air Force Academy. No Marine Base, But they are all MINE, because they all belong to us. Keeping each of us safe from harm
every day. I am PROUD of each of them, God Bless Them All
This does happen - every time a plane lands in Bangor, Maine! I can tell you as someone coming home from Bosnia at 3:00 a.m. US time, I was floored to the point of tears that people would care enough to wave flags and shake our hands. They welcomed us home! We were handed cell phones to call home free of charge. The grill was open for burgers and cold milk. Whatever the past may or may not have been, now is now and the troops are supported.
brokensyn779, things did get better, and i do believe this happened, maybe rather rare, but it did, because not all are such as you say sir, and the few, hard to find, but i believe they do exist, because you're one of which, the honorable soldiers. THANK YOU. (i may not worth to say this honor forward you, sir)
I was able to witness a scene like this a couple of years ago during a layover in Atlanta. As the soldiers came out of the gate, everyone stopped what they were doing and paid attention. Moments later, someone started clapping. Then, everyone was clapping for these guys just returning home. It was an awesome sight. I'm not in the military, but I still salute these men and women for their service, especially when they come home.
This is what happened to my unit when we came back from Iraq while we were in Ireland. The Irish civilians all stood up and clapped for us and thanked us for our sacrifice. Another country showing appreciation for our countries sacrificing soldiers. It was a touching moment. It made us proud to be who we were. I just wish we could have gotten a standing applaud when we got back home.
@kuelexx im from ireland,,and iv been in shannon several times when us troops have passed thru,,and allthough 99% of irish people are totally against the war,,they support the soldiers as we know what it is to loose our people in wars,,after all we fought the brits for 800 years for freedom in ireland,,we know u guys a just doing ur duty,,the same as the afgan guys are doing theres(allthough the taliban are not the future the afgan people need),,so just keep the heads up guys,
I was stationed in the U.S. from 1979 to 1981 and at that time You, the American people villified the guys who served their country. President Reagan changed all that, thank God. Gave back the pride they deserved, Unfortunately 911 occurred and really made the U.S. sit up and re evaluate their relationship with their Armed Forces. God bless all the Guys & Girls who serve their countries, Brit & U.S.
May he watch over you, Always, & for those that have lost a loved one, Remember them....
I've experienced this at Atlanta International Airport. I remember having goosebumps and a big smile on my face. When you see troops and veterans thank them. It means a lot to us! I remember every single thank you!
Very inspiring tribute to our soldiers men and women. GOD BLESS U.... COME HOME SAFE... THANK YOU FOR ALL U HAVE SACRIFICED TO GIVE US THE FREEDOM WE ALL DESERVE.....
This is a unique commercial for superbowl. It really touches your hearts. I know a nunch of soldier's. Most people don't give a shit about our men and women who made sacrifices to our country. One the soldiers I know he doesn't have anyone but me. His dad died of high blood pressure, and his mom died of breast cancer.
This is brilliant. God bless to all our troops..British, American and all the other nations, who ever and where ever they are from. that made me cry and it still dose everytime i watch it!!! It's awsome!! I want to join when i get older and knowing that'll be me, i cry!!! God Bless!!!
That's what it's all about, that's why a lot of people say "Somebody's gotta do it". Were supposed to be America and care for each other and earn the right to call ourselves American. I know that when i grow old and think about the things i did in my only lifetime, ill be proud to say "I did my part."
this happened for me when I got back from Iraq... choked me up a little
also the reason bud aired these kinds of commercials were to show tribute and respect while not trying to get a financial gain in return. Look up the budwiser tribute to 9/11. Only aired once, but beautiful.
no words were said. the actions of these people said it all. i would do the same.its because of him/her that makes it possible for everyday life. When i worked at the local snackbar, i ran into an armyman. He ordered his food, and i said i would bring it to him. i shook his hand and thanked him. i asked him how often he got that. And he said not very often but when he did it felt great. keep that in mind and thank a soldier the next time you see one.
On a day to remember, make sure you if you watch this today that you share it with everyone you know. Put it on your Facebook and MySpace. I thank everyone who put their life on the line to protect the freedom and life my family and I am able to enjoy.

iam currently serving and when i deployed back to the states for R&R this actually happened in the atlanta airport THANK YOU'S FOR YOUR SUPPORT--ARMY STRONG
christ,in the 75th ive seen a whole lot of my friends die and all the hell of war and im still in the service yet i figure if i die that means another man who could've been in my place wont die. God bless America...
This is by far my favorite commercial of all time. I first seen this video because we had a family friend that was in Iraq, and his father sent it to us because it meant so much to him.
The reason this wasn't aired is because this never happens, except in the fantasy world of television. I'm in the U.S. Army as a Blackhawk Crewchief and plan on serving for 20+ years, and yet when I went home to see my family after training I was called a murderer, baby killer, and rapist (not by my family of course), them not knowing I'm married with a daughter of my own. I wish I could look forward to comming home to this, but fact is... No one is even going to notice my squad and I.
Actually, the sad part is our military does fight for the losers who protest. It is the blood of patriots that allows morons to have that freedom to criticize.
Actually this was aired. Not to dismiss the terrrible accusations of what people called you, totally uncalled for, but it was a superbowl commercial I'm thinkin 3 years back now or so. I heard many great comments on this when it aired back during the superbowl. It definitely should happen more often.
This commercial was aired a few years ago during the Super Bowl. I'm sorry to hear about your horrible homecoming experiences. But I did experience this at Atlanta International Airport. I remember having goosebumps and a big smile on my face. I was going back to Iraq after a two week leave.
sorry you never got the welcome home you deserved but i saw this happen at an airport in charlotte north carolina last year when i was going on vacation
@brokensyn779 But we dont do it for the praise ... Staff Sergeant Low USAF Para -Rescue You think whenever I get back from missions I get called a hero now I dont do it for money or pride ... We do it cause no one else will we do it so our children can go to the park and play and not be afraid we do it for everyone ... you get called names they just dont know how it is look at all the comments your getting tell me they dont care ... lets end with a .... Hooo ahhh!! brother
Apparently it did aire once during the Superbowl, but never again. People complained Budweiser was being too political so they yanked it. Damn shame. Kudos to you for serving your country.
This commercial aired on the Superbowl one time and was only meant to air that one time. the war was not expected to last and the beer company was making a sincere statement. all the troops were active military. It has formally been renewed due to the popularity from such things as this. I know because I am one of the people applauding in this spot.
Hat's off to Budweiser. Let's hope that the Belgian company InBev doesn't buy them.
I got a welcome home similar to this. Dang it's hard keeping a straight face in an airport when this happens. I also didn't expect the handshakes that I received in an airport like Minneapolis/St. Paul International--two cities that are far left of center. We may not agree but we have to be careful what kind of example whe show our children. Love your flag. Disagree when you must but always love the USA
i plan on enlisting after college. first off im willing 2 go fight so that other people dont have to. the thought of my 10 yr old brother or my friends going off 2 war is unbearble 2 think. so i've made the choice to take thier place. i really dont care what ppl think of my decision. so dave if u want 2 sit on ur computer and be a little ignorant shit head so be it, i just hope one day you'll relize why soldiers fight and why ppl choose to enlist and fight
Ah I see, another arm-chair philosopher? I bet you are a know-it all who has never done anything worth mentioning in his life. Have you ever served in Iraq? No. Whiny little bitches like the punk who made the last comment and you just continue regurgitating what CNN tells you and be thankful its people like us who do travel to Iraq to ensure you have the right to make an ass of yourself.
I thank every person that serves in the military I would be in the mall and I would see one and I would stop and thank them

And now you patrol youtube making sure the truth gets out....give me a break. If you are in this commercial I played in that superbowl

Budweiser has been bought...I hope they stay pro-American. I was wondering why are they the only company to do such a touching tribute?
NJburbsSeeker 3 years ago
This is the respect that OUR troops deserve, damn all the bashers. They are fighting for our freedoms, You gotta love them for that.
waterdogtx915 3 years ago

but i dont get it, what does this have to do with budweiser? 0.o

Calling someone a pussy just because they disagree with you goes a long way to show your intelligence level. You must be from West Virginia.

Ah I see, another arm-chair philosopher? I bet you are a know-it all who has never done anything worth mentioning in his life. Have you ever served in Iraq? No. Whiny little bitches like the punk who made the last comment and you just continue regurgitating what CNN tells you and be thankful its people like us who do travel to Iraq to ensure you have the right to make an ass of yourself.
rickims63 3 years ago
FYI I am writing you from Iraq right now and I graduated 4th in my class Summa Cum Laude (GPA 3.98) and no, I am hardly from West Virginia.
But thank you for your ASSumption and trolling troop tributes to feel like a big boy.
