  • Is possible to make an .exe for run this itself?

  • @ngst74 I don't know how, but I will look into it...

Or if anyone has matlab and knows how to create an .exe from a .m, please get in touch...

  • @dannydeviltube Wait a minute this is in matlab? Can I get the .m file? I'd love to check out the code. =D

  • @bjrcboy yes, in matlab... m file now on internet (see info section). good luck!

  • Awesome program! It's really nice to see the polyrythms of 3 and 4/petal antispin flowers. It's hard getting the spin points and the speed right. It's also a great idea to have it go semi/random since it will do stuff we might not have thought of otherwise.

  • so is this gen for sale?, i would love to stare at this thing at work for a wile. could u make it a screen saver

  • I would love to have this basically as my screensaver =) (the random gen that is, not the video).

    Grand work!

  • this thing is insane

i wish i was as good as the computer...lol

  • Dude, this is nuts. It's working on polyrhythmic butterfly flowers and what not. It's going to be fun to figure out, but I feel like having a computer generate things for us to figure out takes the fun out of sitting around and discussing technicalities and breaking new ground with other spinners. Cool stuff regardless! :P

  • Wow, this blows my mind, using computer programs to come up with various combinations and possibilities! I mean, this is pretty next level, amazing stuff man.

  • this looks like fun to decipher!!!

  • good work! A really cool idea!

  • This is astounding! There are some really funky variations I'm trying to wrap my mind around that you illustrate here. Is there a way you can give a breakdown of each pattern arrangement? It would be greatly appreciated :D

  • Though, this is a step in the direction I've been taking with aligning all the different types of timing vs direction vs driving style mash ups that you can come up with. I can't wait to see more!!!

  • I'll have a go at giving you a breakdown of the patterns: 1: Antispin, butterfly, flower: 2:3 polyrhythm 2: Pause one hand at 6 O'C for one hand spin 3: Carry on 4: 3 Beat antispin fountain 5: Pause one hand at 12 O'C for one hand spin 6: Carry on 7: Moving an alternate butterfly around (aka hands together, one antispin one inspin, both poi do 3 spins to each hand spin) 8: Pause one hand at 6 O'C for one hand spin 9: Carry on 10: From here it gets a bit messy....
  • And as for more, I might post another video soon, I've updated the algorithm a little. But hopefully I'll be able to translate it into something web friendly, so you can see the generator at work! It does some funky stuff.

  • That waz pretty awesome... Do u use the same program to generate these as Alien Jon does??? I wish i had the know how to make some of these simulated poi patterns... Can u do all the patterns you show in this with real poi??? Seem like it would be really really hard to time a lot of them... If u can do them though then u are nuttier than squirrel turds :P Well done with this though and hope to c more in the future!!!

  • I don't use the same program, although (perhaps obviously) I did take inspiration from his animations.

    I made this in Matlab...
