Eh..(I don't mean to offend you) I would be more impressed if this was an authentic city, without all the mods and extra tiles. Mods are flashy, but other than that, they serve zero purpose, unless they provide commercial/industry jobs. I admit I do use mods to provide commercial jobs, but I use the Empire State Building/CN Tower/etc., and the city looks all around more authentic.

If you have the NAM, simply drag a 2x2 circle of road. The 4 corners will turn into a roundabout. 2x2 will also work for streets. 3x3 for one way roads, and 4x4 for avenues but those have to be plopped.

@MrDevilmage You need at least two stations for them to work. The simplist way is put one in a residential area and another in a commercial area.

@86vahe86 I use thousands of add-ons, and thus my plugins folder is several gigabites, No (free) site on the net will allow me to upload something of that size. Plus there are many negative underlying factors with making torrents/downloads of many plugins... call it copyright infringement if you will.

wow i have a lot to learn. i have so far about 8 connecting cities, i have a monorail running through them, subways, and just started a highway between 3 of them, do you have any tips to start implementing commuter rail? it looks incredibly intimidating that's why i've never started it.

In order for widescreen to work without it being stretched, you have to change the shortcut's path on the desktop.

It should look like: "C:\Program Files\Maxis\SimCity 4\Apps\SimCity 4.exe" -l:english -Intro:off -CustomResolution:enabled -r1920x1200

Change those last numbers to your monitor's best resolution. For youtube videos, change to a 16:9 resolution (1280x720 or 1920x1080) for best results.

With the GLR in avenue/road mod, can you still grow buildings (RCI - not landmarks) on them? Also a beautiful city - my cities are always not as nice, as hard as i try! My sky scraper districts always turn into a mangled jungle with some parks.

Simtropolis has the largest exchange, The STEX, with lots of buildings and mods, as well as active forums. SC4 Devotion is home to the LEX, which has a smaller number of high quality buildings. SimPeg is a site that hosts only buildings/mods made by pegasus, and his stuff is used by almost all good players.

Oh, that's simple. There are a lot of tutorials on Simtropolis, but it doesn't need it. Simply download the file (you will need winrar or 7zip to do so) put in your plugins folder, at my documents/simcity4/plugins and put the contents of the rar/zip into the folder and voila! Many larger downloads, such as NAM have installers in the file, which you just double click on to use

Not usually. However, it would probably be best to extract the whole file into the plugins folder

You can also delete the pictures to reduce the filesize of your plugins folder.  That's what I do most of the time.

Ok got my disk and some of the add ons look perfect but some are missing features,like the large rail yard is missing track or is not showing on the screen at all. Some of the buildings look like they are packaged wrapped in brown paper. What can I do to correct this?

Looks like you have some missing plugins that's making the lots incomplete. Make sure you install the dependency files the plugins need in order to avoid texture issues and wrapped boxes.

Maxis made it (4x4 and squished) but it is not to scale.

It has been remade to proper dimensions (3x3 and steeper) which is the one I use. I found it on one of the public exchanges... I'm thinking STEX.

That's a bullet train line, not el-rail. No texture has been made for it passing over GLR-in ave, so it defaults to monorail.

No, I record in 16:9, and that way it shows up widescreen here without any stretching.

Type this into SC4's target shortcut.

"C:\Program Files\Maxis\SimCity 4\Apps\SimCity 4.exe" to -CustomResolution:enabled -r1920x1200

Change that 1920x1200 to whatever your desktop resolution is for normal play. Change it to a 16:9 ratio for recording (in this case, 1920x1200 would be 1920x1080).

That's the bullet train mod, which replaces the monorail. No textures have been made for bullet train over light rail, so it looks a little funky. In time a texture will be made as it is always a work in progress.
