It is a matter of space. The Japanese had no choice but to rebuild Hiroshima and Nagasaki, the Japanese have very little inhabitable land - about 144K sq miles, the US has 3.7 million sq miles. Our choice was to sprawl-out and leave the "great" cities behind, because we could, this sprawl cost us all, big time, in terms of urban decline and increased taxes to support the sprawling new (and now aged) infrastructure. The sprawl was (is) unsustainable, and we see the impact of that now.

It is a matter of space. The Japanese had no choice but to rebuild Hiroshima and Nagasaki, the Japanese have very little inhabitable land - about 144K sq miles, the US has 3.7 million sq miles. Our choice was to sprawl-out and leave the "great" cities behind, because we could, this sprawl cost us all, big time, in terms of urban decline and increased taxes to support the sprawling new (and now aged) infrastructure. The sprawl was (is) unsustainable, and we see the impact of that now.

yep. the cardinal who was put down for "holocaustdenial" in early 2009 is right. most people in camps died from mid 1944 to early 1945 from typhus and starvation when the german economy broke down due to allied mass bombing of the german infrastructure.

However that's bad enough and it's still a holocaust. But I don't see why it gets any special attention more than the 3.5 million killed in India by the British, the 30 million Chinese who died around 10 million Russians 11 million germans etc. And to go back further 44 million in slave trade (that does get attention though) and 55-100 Million Native Americans killed in South, Central and North America. THAT is a holocaust and genocide.
