  • They should take the shift paddles out of the taurus and put them in the mustang v6 auto. They might actually be used and appreciated.

  • hey how come after you reversed in the video the transmission looked like it wasnt going into gear so easly?

  • Just drove a rental '11 'stang from Hertz and it's a mixed bag. Off the line, not so quick and the engine bogged for some reason. Handling is nice, turning radius is insanely small. The car must have had the 2.73 axle, as the motor was only turning at 2k at 82mph! Got about 30 mpg on the freeway driving in CT, less when I got on it. On the highway, there is lots of pickup with the revs up and the 6-speed auto giving those revs up nicely. Interior is 100x better than the Camaro I tried first...

  • Well, it's been well over a year, I can only assume you didn't have any luck getting your hands on a 2011 'stang for review purposes.. maybe you'll get a chance with the '12 model, eh?

  • @MikeReiner Apologies for the delay! I'm trying to fit one into the fall schedule, every time I check they're booked. I'll keep at it. I had a '11 GT as a rental car for a couple of days last month when I was out in LA for X Games. It was awesome. If I had room in the garage and the $ to spare, I might just own one.

  • I Wana Maunual Tran Thats American And Manly Lol

  • Stop complaining about it being automatic....What if someone intends to use it strictly at the track? They may want automatic..

  • Oh my god, this sounds amazing. Buying one.

  • would you say that this car FOR ITS PRICE has the best sound compared to V6 camaro and challenger?

  • mustangs needa be manual no exceptions!!

  • @whatdoiputherelol yeah no kidding lol

  • i have got a V8 version of the 2001 mustang it sounds LOVELY

  • The v6 is no longer just for commuters, housewives or young kids who have to pay insurance.

  • 10 people are camaro owners lol

  • technology is a bitch, my 93 formula(LT1 I/E CHIP 160 STAT 3.73's) beat my son's friends(i'm 54) 2011 V6 by a car length(dig and roll)i mean not bad for an 18 yr old LT1

but V6's today are running what alot of older V8's were. time for the old man to hook up that 125 shot lol !

  • Im looking to buy a 2011 v6 stang for this summer im a huge fan of the mustang i currently drive a 2004 40th ann. sharp car but not enough for me. looking forward to getting the new pony and opening it up on some roads!

  • Is the reviewer mute? He doesn't say anything at all.

  • no wonder he is driving an automatic he cant even shift that right

  • @whatdoiputherelol hey im a manual fan, but some of the fastest mustangs(v6's) opted out of manual transmissions for the 4R70W automatic...dont knock a good auto

  • how many MPG did the 2005+ model of the V6?

  • What it boils down to is the V6 with 300 odd horsepower is still a v6 with 300 odd horsepower. Its not a GT, nor does it sound or run like one. It is however a very nice car, especially on the inside.

  • I mainly meant the automatic 2011 v6, its still very very sluggish, especially on take off. Now top speed i have no idea. I'm sure the manual transmission is much more peppy. I like celicas btw wish they still made them. Both our cars are very light and quick on take off. Nothing beats the good ole Stang gt's and the roar and torque power they give. I'll probably go for a new one sometime this year.

  • @jerm26554 a 2001 Eclipse GT can take a 2011 Mustang V6? Maybe a slightly modded one or a GT-S (further up the year model). I'm not wanting to call you out or anything but the numbers just don't match up, though I suppose seeing how the Eclipse GT is a good 1200 pounds lighter maybe, but I still doubt it. Then again my Celica can run down the older 4.0 V6 Mustangs without much trouble so as I said maybe I just need to see this.

  • wtf. A chevy Volt commercial on a Ford video. Really?!

  • @Uniquesilver: You can have your overpriced, high maintenance German car.

  • It's logic to drive the automatic in a MPGOMATIC video , since the automatic get better fuel economy ( in city & highway , not only combine ) than the manual one

  • Every us car is crap. Compare it to german cars

  • woo woo woo wait v6 with gps

  • please tell me that you don't need a manual to have some fun, just a every day driver. to have some fun now and than.

  • Hey mpgomatic

Are you going to check the GT? It would be interesting to see how the efficiency was improved in the V8 Model.

    Greeting from germany

  • I don't know, I have the new 2011 V6 with the auto, and it does just fine. No, it isn't suited for racing, but I didn't buy it for that. But when you want some "spirited" driving in the curves, I've found the right amount of accelerator manipulation gets the job done, and is quite a lot of fun.

And it does shift very smoothly, while being convenient in stop-and-go city traffic. True muscle-car performance, great economy. Not for everybody, but perfect for me!

  • STOP BUYING THE MUSTANG IN AUTOMATIC, YOUR GIVING IT A BAD NAME.

  • @BAWLS2894 Hey, I didn't buy it, I just drove it. PS: there's a Caps Lock key at the left side of your keyboard. =)

  • @mpgomatic lol

  • @mpgomatic Didn't the reflection of the dashboard in the windshield affect you at all?

  • @mpgomatic Actually, since "many" (at least a noticable amount) of the manual gearboxes seem to be faulty, I think I would prefer an automatic. Shame though.

  • @Woogey213374u Um, your statistics come from where?

  • @CarbineGuy I dont have any statistics, hence the "many". Just look for "MT-82" on youtube and google, you'll find many posts and quite a few horror stories.

  • @mpgomatic You're correct the guys who shout the loudest can't even find a clutch .As I've said before many times- in cities these days a standard is a pain -- and with a coffee in hand you're screwed .

My choice would be a double clutch like in their Fiesta or Focus .with paddle snifters like the Taurus

What a sad decision to put it in a family car the best engine tranny package the turbo 6 with the good transmission ---- and I dont like the shape of that car Who the hell is responsible

  • @BAWLS2894

    Completely all right ^^

  • @BAWLS2894 ditto big time!

  • @BAWLS2894 your a retard. who cares about using a automatic or manuel. it's a cool car to get you to point A to point B!!!!!!!!

  • @jonathannjboy **manual

  • @jonathannjboy hey ricer, stfu kthx

  • @BAWLS2894 is sequential i have one, having first second and third... then "D"

  • Folks buying automatics keep the brand alive. Don't bite the hand that feeds!

  • Comment removed

  • The automatic's gear-lever/gear-selector seems REALLY huge and clunky.. I'm not too sure if I'd like that.

I'm looking to purchase an auto V6 Mustang (not the stick because traffic in Los Angeles is horrendous).

Hopefully if Ford releases a 2012 model with paddle shifters and/or some sort of sequential shift mode, I'll consider it.

  • @chowman29 they probably wont do that until 2014 models..

  • It seems to shift pretty smooth. My 01 Regal doesn't do that :( The Mustang is Okay, but I would much pefer the Fusion or hybrid Fusion. I prefer FWD as well. Fiesta is also tempting but smaller than I'd like, especially for road trips. Another issue is getting in and out of a car and for that, it would be midsize like the Fusion over the lower Fiesta. Comfort is a big issue and I'm over 50.

  • Man, you guys leave cars.com and auto trend in the dirt

  • Does anyone know the total weight of a 2011 V6 and a 2011 GT ? ? (Auto tranny's in both.)

  • My mom bought a stock to the bone auto 2011 Mustang V6 this past month, it's an experience of it's own. It might not be the GT but it's still an experience not to be missed out on especially for the person with the fuel economy and wanting a thrill ride. This car will not disappoint.

  • How much is the V6 with the Sat Nav?

  • can anyone please tell me is it ok to drive mustang in winter?coz i'm confuse. m planningt o buy mustang v6 convertible soon

  • @1tashdor The mustang is designed to be a daily driver. I drive my convertible in the winter. It starts very badly below 10 degrees and snow melts and hardens to ice in spots it shouldn't be... I go around every corner sideways when the roads are slick though. Makes it all worth it.

  • nice ride

  • Interesting, the reflection of the front dash ventilation grills on the windscreen is quite obvious, and it can be very annoying.

  • did u floor that? cuz it looked really weak

  • @knighcs66

Looks can be decieving on video... Even with the automatic, that new V6 stang still runs in the high 13's to a 14.0 in the 1/4 mile. That's quick for a V6.

  • Sorry, I meant deceiving... I was typing too fast LOL.

  • sweet car, i heard the v6 auto is more fuel efficient than the stick version.

  • automatic...lame

  • does this have tap shifting or auto stick for the mustang because am think of getting 1 instead of the camaro. And is it easier to see out of the windows because i no the camaro is small in the inside

  • nice car

  • I love how this V6 sounds almost sounds like a V8 from the inside.

  • quick question. Im planning on getting the v6 premium american club model, but no money for the nav right now. Do you know if they can install it in a few months after i buy the car? and would it look as good as it does in the one youre driving? Or do i have to buy it pre-installed in the mustang...?

Thanks for the video, sweet ride!!

  • @mikrosha dude, lmfao save yourself accouple hundred dollars and just get a GPS....

  • are you guys going to post a 0-60 video for this car?

  • @SCF24 Not this specific car (this video was shot at a press event), but I'll be driving another 2011 Mustang V6 tomorrow, hopefully a manual-equipped car. I may or may not be able to shoot a 0-60 with it, tho ... it all depends if we can find the right stretch of asphalt and some time.

  • @mpgomatic i see, well keep the great videos comming! quick question, it terms of overall drivability, which car would you prefer? This or the new camaro?

  • @SCF24 new camaro is same as the old one, just a new year

  • @SCF24 0-60 5.1sec

    1/4 @ 13.6

  • Man y buying a sport car automatic that's dumb lol it would b way better if it was manuel

  • Is this with it in sport mode?

  • i would love to see a 05-09 4.6 v8 against the new 2011 v6. greatest race i say.

i really feel bad for people who bought the 2010 mustang gt, they thought the new facelift was special, ha, they didnt get the 5.0 though.

  • @313foxbody420 The video is already on YouTube. The '10 GT won by a car's length, but it should be noted that the '11 V6 had stock 2.73 gears, as opposed to the optional 3.31 gears, which the GT also had.

  • @313foxbody420 don't feel to bad, the 2010 GT is lighter than the new 5.0 and 05-09 v8 mustangs, and more affordable in comparison.

  • "[The Mustang] sounds like god. Shouting" - Jeremy Clarkson

  • i lvoe your vids and this car

  • @ghost1103 Agreed

  • How is the ride quality? Are bumps in the road subtle or obvious?

  • SO how did this v6 compare to the 2010 mustang v6 that u tested?

  • @BIGC3002 The '11 V6 is a huge improvement over the earlier engine: more powerful, more fuel efficient. Hoping that we can get into a manual V6 at some point this summer ...

  • @mpgomatic Same here

  • @mpgomatic i dont like a auto on a mustang manual is the way to go

  • @mpgomatic it has a nav system? canadian models with a v6 don't even have nav as an option

  • @BIGC3002 i got my 2011 manual a month ago and its so much better than the 2010 i tested last christmas. i can't stop speeding lol, got a beltronic v995 for insurance. the cigarette lighter slot is right on the dash, kinda made for a detector if u ask me

  • @mobius0311 Thats exactly how i would get this mustang if i got one. Haha, i bet and yea, the cigarette lighter IS in the perfect spot. I really want one now

  • @BIGC3002 0 to 60 in 5 flat, gf timed it in several tries. get the manual, gets to 75mph in 2nd gear @ 7000 rpm. and yes, ppl gawk at it and putting punks in their suped up civics and tCs is therapeutic. not being racist bc im chinese, kinda sucks that i have to put my fellow asians in their place w/ american muscle lol

  • @mobius0311 Holy sh!t. Thats really fast for a v6, especially one that gets 31 mpg on the highway. Haha, i bet. I use to like the 'ricer' cars like civics but then i saw the light and realized that american muscle is better

  • hows your 0-60?

  • If you could at all, could you see if the 113mph speed limit posted by car and driver is real or not? I have one of these on order and am going to severely disappointed if it is true.

  • @gunzkevin I would love to test that ... on a closed course, of course ...

  • @mpgomatic of course... would this be something that you would be capable of doing soon? And if u can just reply to a comment or pm me a yes or no that would suffice rather than having to wait for a video, but a video would be nice too. None the less, great videos, keep it up.

  • @gunzkevin Nothing definite or immediate, unfortunately. There's a chance that I'd have the opportunity at an event in October.

  • @mpgomatic Oh well I get mine tomorrow so maybe I will post up a video. Maybe not of top speed just yet, got to get past those first 1000 miles before any serious videos.

  • @gunzkevin I have seen a dyno test that went well above 113 mph. While this is a new concept car in performance, my 2005 V6 will do 120 mph with the 4.0L 210 horsepower engine. We're talking about more torque, more horsepower and weighing very close to the 05-09 models. I'm sure the car can do more than 113 mph unrestricted regardless.

  • @runrhino06 I know that the car is capable of well over 113, but if there is limiter (which there is according to C&D) then it won't be able to go over the 113 limit without a tune.

  • @gunzkevin Its real. A proper tune should be able to fix that ;)

  • @gunzkevin Why would you need to go faster than 113mph? Even if it's true, you can disable it easily with a tuner.

  • @ambientflier 113mph isn't that fast at all. I just reached that on my trip from minnesota to fargo while fooling around with a z06. I obviously got my ass handed to me but I wasn't even contemplating winning. And yes as I have commented before, I know that with a tune I could go above the limiter. I reached 113mph in 4th gear at around 4.7k rpm, so the car obviously has a lot more potential.

  • The 3.7L V6 isn't even direct injected. Imagine the extra power AND MPG if it were direct injected.

Of course, I think they're saving that for the 50th anniversary Mustang for both the V6 and V8, and slotting a 2.0L EcoBoost as an entry-level model. A 40 MPG Mustang with tons of punch? I'm drooling.

  • Hey Dan, I like these new little tidbits. Ever think about about doing a little commenting on how the engine feels during or after you punch it? I am very interested in ford these day with their new engines and cars I really want your opinion on the interior fit and finish and overall build quality. The last ford I drove was a mountainier and that thing left a bitter taste in my mouth with fords.

  • @flatblackstrat Thanks, FBS. I had a camcorder during a press event and thought it might be worthwhile to capture some footage, as there isn't much in-car stuff posted on the 2011 V6 Mustang yet. I didn't have enough time to do a proper job shooting around the car.

Ford's interior fit and finish has come a long way. No doubt about it, these are the nicest Mustangs to date, very solid. The '11 V6 has much more punch than the '10 ... nice smooth growl. Mazda, er Ford, did a great job with it. :)

  • Actually the 2010 GT only won by 1 1/2 car lengths(max) against the new V6. So you could imagine with a few bolt-ons and a tune that it will be a tie.

  • @LogoRifle Plus they were both autos. If the V6 had the manual 6speed, plus the 3.31 axle it would have been an ever closer race for the 2010 GT to walk away from!

  • what's the point of this video? what are we watching? a hairy middle aged man driving an automatic rental mustang like an 8-year old girl?

  • @Paris0410 correction an automatic rental Mustang that get's 31 mpg highway and does the quarter mile 13 seconds @103 mph.

  • @heysexy18 yes, 300+ hp with 30+ mpg, it's sweet. but that doesn't make this video any better. it does NOT tell me anything nor show me anything. oh no wait, it does show numb arms on a steering wheel.

  • @heysexy18 Aye, and this one was a press car, not a rental. Looking forward to getting into a manual '11 'Stang down the road and shooting some beefy footage. Maybe I can cajole them into letting me take it to the dragstrip ...

  • @Paris0410 Gee, thanks. Whaddya want me to do, shave my arms? It wasn't a rental, BTW.

  • @mpgomatic sorry. plz don't take this personally. all i want to say is this is not a good position mounting camera. and if you decide to shoot a video without narration or multi-scenes, you'd better do it on track ,or at least show the speedometer and tachometer like you usually do. I get nothing from this video man.

  • @Paris0410 I hear ya. It was a question of "do I post it or not?" I couldn't rig up the camera like I do for the 0-60 runs. With any luck, I'll have a V6 Mustang to shoot in the coming months and I can do a proper job of it.

  • @mpgomatic to be honest, i'd say no. if half year ago, probably yes. now there are tons of 2011 mustang reviews on youtube already. if you don't do it early, do it differently. looking forward to your upcoming one though. good luck!

  • @Paris0410 Thx! Our reviews are different from the crowd, no doubt about that. We spend real time with our review cars and roll up the miles for real world results. We avoid doing one-day "reviews" ...

  • my brother works at a ford dealership and he drove a 2011 gt and he did a burn out in 3rd gear, lol every 1 at the dealership were shocked at the power

  • sucks to anyone who bought the 2010 mustang

  • @vipermoon64 That's for damn sure. I feel sorry for them, but then again, didn't they know about the new engines that were to come out? I guess they couldn't wait for the new body style. Oh well.

  • @ricepaddy69 i dont think the people who bought the 2010 mustang once it came out new about the new engines the following year. but ya, i also feel sorry for them

  • @vipermoon64 Yeah, you're probably right. The early birds had no idea about the new engines. I was thinking of the later buyers (within the last 3 months or so).

  • @ricepaddy69 ya it really sucks a lot. they missed out on great sound, way better fuel economy, and a lot more power

  • @vipermoon64 Oh man they did. I wonder how many 2010 owners have traded in or are thinking about trading in for 2011 models.

  • @ricepaddy69 they probably are even buying the engines from ford and putting it in their 2010's

  • What a difference to the old 4.0.

  • @Intechdude300

Are you kidding me?? The new V6 is equivalent to the old GT.

There's a video comparing the new V6 and the old GT. The GT wins by about 2-3 car lengths but the V6 pulls ahead at higher end speeds because of their new standard 6-speed transmissions.

  • @lilaznmage15

What did I say wrong? I'm comparing this run and the huge difference in sound & speed with the run MPGomatic did with the 2010 4.0 V6 run, Thats if you haven't seen it.

Read carefully next time. U probably understood (What's the difference) which is a totally different statement.

  • @Intechdude300 Ah, my mistake. Thought you posted "What's THE difference"

  • @lilaznmage15 Where's the video? thanks.

  • When I see this car, I wish I didn't live in the snowbelt. I would love this thing.

  • automatic transmission suck unless they are duel clutch like the dsg in vw. The torque converter just sucks power away from the engine

  • The best pony car, right here in this review.
