I love NAM, Its such an amazing pageant and it is teaching me so many life skills. I feel more confident and poised. I can't wait for the pageant here! Im so exited!

i just got my open call letter. I was nervous but im relaxed now. i've done my research, so i know what its going to be like. i suggest to those who are nervous to do the same. The girls who have posted vlogs of their experiences are very helpfull! And yes its's expensive. It's a business. We live in a world of capitalism. But don't let that discourage u if u want to participate!! Yes, this is my first pangeant.And I am very excited.

Ok so I received a letter last week and I'm up for it, but do any of you guys know if it's actually free like the letter states, or do we have to pay for everything?

@coconutcake16 What it means that it's free is the open call is free then to be in the pageant in $440 and optional contest are $50 each.

its not a scam around 300 plus the additional money for the extra contests you want to participate in, for example i believe 30 for each. They have best talent, most photogenic, best actress, and stuff like that. Im not gonna lie its expensive.You pay for your own room at the hotel and for your trip to the city its been hosted. You pay for your own dress and all that. You also have to pay for your food, things like that make it costly.

Omg ,I"m signing up for Miss newyork pageant. Im am very confident it will be fun even if I don't win.I cant wait intill Ill meet the new people ! What is very weird is that the same thing happen to me I got mail. Nobody reffered i to me. I didn't even know we had Miss new york. But I am happy I know now.My mom said this alot of money but I had to beg 24 hours.

I already did this I participated for Jr. teen texas 2006 and it was a fun experience. You guys be graceful and when you do your interview just be polite and graceful. most of all have fun!! =) expensive though lol

I just signed up for the Open Call at NY. First time doing this. Advice?! And I dont even know how i got this letter. I didnt refer myself so..idk who did. Im not a girly girl either. I have no idea how to do make up.

i absoultly LOVE this pageant....everything about it has made me a better person. i have a lot more self confedense (im a bad speller) i have made so many friends too......i still talk to most of them. if anyoneout there thinks this is a beauty pageant.. DONT its totally not! sign up and have the best time of ur life

yea a lil bit....but the pageant is fun! i do alot of opional things in it so it costs more for me...but i think u would enjoy it alot...i do! i do the ohio one. everyone is soo nice there and you have alot of oportunities to get awards..i'd try it if i was you
