The fact that you hit the target at all aiming with a camera is pretty cool 8-) I feel your pain when it comes to Michigan bugs dude. I know you have to have seen the same mosquitoes I have... you know.... the ones with the black and white legs. (might be the state bird ;-) They are HUGE and hurt almost as bad a a deer fly grrrr hate those. Horse flys you can kill, but those deer flys are wiley and FAST! LOL I'm glad it cooled off enough for you to record a shooting vid 8-)
@squeakswheel ooo, Squeak, that's a tough one. Most self defence guns weigh more than you do, and I'm afraid that picking them up and pointing them in the proper direction might be a bit of a trick for you. If you aren't careful when drawing a pistol out of its holster (you may have seen how my revolver got 'stuck' in this video) you might accidently shoot your own trousers off! Oh, I'm sorry, you don't wear trousers, never mind. :)
My first thought of Ruger revolvers is "ouch", but that's based on the single actions I have (44&357), but the more I looked the more that one looked familiar so I did some digging. I have the SP101 that I don't think I've ever shot (it's all fun and games but someone has to end up cleaning them).
I'd like to try that side angle with my ported Rossi at night, but I think I'd use a tripod. I bet I could do the FPS angle since that's how I did knitting videos.
@Myk63 seriously, an SP 101 that you never shot? I have been thinking about getting one of those as well. I think a powerhouse snubby would be fun. Yeah, cleaning them is NOT like a Glock, thats for sure! Ideally I should have been using a tripod, but i found that holding the side angle wasn't as bad as I thought because at least I was sighting the gun with my own eyes. It was kinda hard to hold the gun and the camera steady though. Good to talk to you again. Any videos on the horizon?
@TheMinisterofDefence I got a bunch of dead guy guns a while back. They were a mess when I got them so after I spent days cleaning without the fun of shooting I really haven't had the desire to get them dirty, especially the revolvers. It didn't help that he was a lead reload freak so the barrels were pretty clogged.
I just put up a short dog video to let people know I'm still alive.
@Myk63 wow, I know that feeling. The first rounds I bought for this revolver were non jacketed semi wad cutters. lead is sooooo dirty. after a couple of boxes of that stuff, I vowed never to do that again. Cleanup is awful and the gun is so nice and shiny when you finally do get it cleaned up that you hate to foul it all up again after that. I will check out your new video!
I expected a 357 magnum to sound a little bit louder, though.. Maybe it was because of those special rounds that you used (I don't know why they'd be more expensive.)
@HeyMajorSeventh Yep, that's exactly right, Adam. In a heavy gun like that, the .38 special rounds that I was shooting, are very light. They pop not much louder than the .22 that I was shooting on another video. Sometime I'll fire the Magnum loads and it should be noticably louder, although I must say that apparently my camera is deliberately designed to gait out (or at least supress) loud reports like gunfire, because I have noticed in all of the videos that the guns seem quieter than real life
@tweetnes wow, you take NOTES! Thats pretty impressive! Yes, shotguns can be painful sometimes. I did a shotgun video that left me wishing that we had done it in fewer takes...lol. Thanks for watching, Tweetness!
great vid... ingenuitive 1st person shooting. I strap my cam to my head or chest ... it doesn't have a view finder. Sweet gun... as much as I hate to admit it, yes the .357 is far superior to the .38. Damn, I said it
@MrJmfitch thanks for watching. My cam is pretty much like a flip cam, and I didnt have any kind of a mount with me, so i thought i'd just give it a try looking through the viewfinder. man, it's freaky because the camera is NOT seeing what your naked eye is seeing and its wild trying to shoot like that. I love the .357 and the .38 rounds, but in a gun this heavy the 38 it feels like shooting a .22. lol.
@ThatWeirdFatBloke we could do a collab video if we could figure out a way for you to do some shooting. we could always use special effects i reckon ! you make some pretty fine effects, maybe you should have a bash at that and see what you can come up with? lol.
@TheMinisterofDefence sounds like a plan, leave it with me and Ill see what I can do. I cant access any awesome guns like you guys over there, but I may be able to borrow something more interesting than just a 0.17 air rifle :)
@TheWestAussie thanks, i've seen a lot of shooters film this way, but it is very confusing to actually do. the camera lens looks way off the sight compared to your eye, its all very wonky. lol.
Great video! I subscribed to you. Please make more shooting videos.

I've only shot a gun once. A ricketty ol' rifle with a bent sight. I was so disappointed that I had no holed in my target!

@SugarInHisBlood a bent sight would take the fun right out of it for sure...bummer.
