This is the OLD Radio 2 he sent into Room 101 which inherited the boring Light Program style. in the mid to late 90's they changed to AOR format or in short playing slightly old pop and rock music

Scandal indeed. He was caught sleeping with prostitutes (caught how I'm not sure). He was caught twice, that got him fired off Have I Got News For You and pretty much ruined his career.

Well HIGNFY was a show which mocked people who did... well, what he did really. Knowing that he couldn't really stay. If you want to see, look up "HIGNFY Scandal Episode" in Youtube, it's a good laugh.

@smaakjeks He didn't get punished for it as far as I'm aware, it's just the tabloids and Ian and Paul refused to let it go until his job was impossible. It should be noted though that the first episode where he was ribbed solidly for a 2 hour recording he took it all INSANELY well and showed a lot of dignity in the way he accepted the lashing he got. That should have served as his humiliation and they should have let him continue.

@smaakjeks The reason he got sacked from HIGNFY was because the scandal meant he became the butt of the jokes and it was sort of counter-productive (you can't make fun of politicians' sex scandals when you've done the same kind of thing yourself) If you watch the last ever episode he hosted, which was right after the scancal broke out, Ian and Paul are absolutely merciless to him, every line is a joke about him.

This programme was made around '93-'94.....way before Paul Merton took over as host. Nick Hancock was fab as host.

paul merton was the sequel if you will to this guy. He is form stoke so he will be jumping up and down at stokes succsessful entry to the premiership.

I prefer nick hancock to paul for he is quite severe and harsh. The music as well is better.

You should watch "Would I Lie To You". There's a few episodes on youtube. Its a panel-game-show-type-thingy (whatever you call them) with Angus as the host from very recently. He's still as funny as ever.
