By some strange twist of fate, people plant all the marijuana seeds when they are done smoking, and this produces so much oxygen that everyone gets cured of cancer and the new world order carbon tax is rendered ridiculous because all the Co2 was absorbed by the plants. Then we discover we can terraform the moon and building transport rockets is cheap and easy, so we start a new generation.
