The fact of the matter was its not the hardware thats the driving force of the market. Why do you all think theres SONY pictures and Toshiba first introduced DVD and Philips introduced CD roms? Its the entertainment and media thats driving the market besides food, real state and fashion. Only the gullible spenders of 1st world countries such as US believe about outdated hardware. Its them why there are slave labors in China and dumping site in africa
I just dont get this. Most cellphones, PCs, laptops, mp3 players and other electronic devices including consoles are built to lasts. Except 360s and new model PS2s but Wii and other old consoles are. Well except for apple products. I have a prescario laptop that only have 80 GB of hard drive and still functioning. I mean seriously we have custom made pentium 4 pc and still functioning. Or US citizens are too gullible and brain dead to listen to advertisements?
@nwonow2012 you never will then.. everything you said ive had more than one of, why because it broke like it was planned too. ps are made to last 3 maybe 5 years max theres no money in it.. if it never breaks.. they need us to come back for more
@themainman2008 I'll clarify what Im saying then. Im saying about majority of products including electronics and gadgets. Not only branded products such as apple, acer, hp, asus, etc... Some not known products are built to lasts especially assembled desktop pcs and other compaq laptop like what Im using now. And about consoles I did say old consoles like the genesis, SNES, NES and others. I even said that new ps2s breaks easily.
its simple and will never change like terrorism its was made by the government cause it all starts that someone needs a fuckin job so they dont die and end up poor so they have um make bombs and then the bombs need to be used to keep the demand up so they attack the east and they attack us (9.11) so we raise are defense more people get jobs and then we go to war to fight them more people get jobs and u all say y dont we just not do that well if we dont do that thousand will die FUCK THIS WORLD!
Cyclical consumption as a bottom line is literally pissing in your own bed. Most animals know better. Because Democracy has been corrupted by greed i.e. capitalism, we now have a planet that is struggling to support our species and has begun to become inhospitable to our well being. When the bottom line is money, the system is dysfunctional. Period.
Obviously there are lots of problems, but the solutions are not coming from dismantling the system, they are going to come from within the system. Only capitalism unleashes the kind of creative energy necessary to address the problems you are addressing. Use capitalism for renewable energy, recycling, and other green living initiatives and see what will happen. If you force things what you get is dictatorship, with revolution all you get is anarchy, both of which are hell for everyone.
In America, capitalism has people believing that jobs are more important than our health and our environment. They say, Dig Here Dig Now! I say using renewable energy is not profitable, corporations wouldn't be able to convince people to pay as much as they're paying now for energy that doesn't take much effort to collect and redistribute. Limited resources is the ultimate bases for which the elite resume control, it is a reason we still us money.
@UntilWeTurnBlue what part of America are you talking about? North America, South America, Canada, Brasil, Argentina, Mexico, or do you mean the United States OF America? There are other countries in America besides the United States, beware of linguistic imperialism, they say estadosunidense in South and Latin America for a reason...
united states...like it says on my channel. By saying "In America" I was hoping to sound someone sarcastic towards those who I was referring to. In this case I was thinking how they live in a different reality. Maybe I should have capitalized all the letters and added an exclamation mark.
@yolenin1 -- (cont'd)... and everyone else is going bankrupt. We're there. This system HAS TO BE dismantled, and the sooner the better. The destructive attributes of a monetary system are unsustainable and inhumane. It's the root cause of all the problems we're facing today. This outdated system is collapsing on its own, but we have to let it go before things get much worse. And that's the direction we're headed. Please take a look -- watch?v=kVPz7uXLZtI -- Thank you.
@yolenin1 -- Capitalism unleashes greed and corruption. Look around. This manipulated monetary game leads to people fighting and taking from each other, which leads to one war after another. Do you understand the consumption-cycle, how it foolishly wastes our resources and trashes our environment? Bankers and Corporate Interests have taken over. It's a monopoly game. And you know how a monopoly game ends? When someone has all the money and properties... (cont'd)
@yolenin1 You can't profit from sustainability and abundance. To make a profit your goods and products must be scarce, real or faked. So what you are saying isn't true. Our economy is build on infinite growth on a finite planet. That doesn't work and will not ever work. You can't make money if things are abundantly available and doesn't have a cyclical consumption factor in it. It must be scarce to keep the price up and it must be sold again within a reasonable time to make a profit.
@yolenin1 Indeed the most valuable resource is the human brain. However capitalism and any other ism are not sustainable. Energy for example, we won't exploit geothermal power because that would be destructive to our current economy. We need oil because it's scarce and not renewable (sustainable). That generates profit because the prices are high when it's scarce and you need to consume it regularly because it's not renewable. So we need to change because there is no planet B.
And intrinsic obsolescence is a good thing, that just means that we are creating better products over time, just look at the advances in human well-being over the past 500 years, standards of living, health, communication, transportation etc.
And as for cost efficiency: if people want to buy a better quality product, they will pay more money for it-the producer can pay higher wages or use better quality products, and this happens quite often. You cant blame the company for consumer demand.
Funny, all of the furniture in my room has been with me for at least 20 years, it has never broken. And i think lots of electronics are scrapped after a while because of improved efficiency, imagine us using one of those computer from 20 years ago, or talking on one of those cell phones the size of a purse...there is lots of waste, but also lots of advances in human well-being. And as for not wanting to cure cancer-that is idiotic, talk to the people doing cancer research before saying that
@nwonow2012 im sorry u said u don't get it .. And then.. that everything lasts .. But thats false that's not true init
