Great solos alto and tenor sax player! And once the song got going, the bass player was very stable. You guys did very well, but I couldn't tell if you were having fun or not. Everyone was so stiff! (Except the bass.) It's a latin piece! It's supposed to be fun to play! :D
pretty good, the trumpet tenor suet needs to sound more like a duet and no two players playing the same part, other than that not bad. tempo issues as wells
I just saw this song while i was looking through all the sheet music in our band room, and i wanted to see what it was like. Pretty sweet song actually, but very unfortunately named :p
First of all they rushed tremendously when the salsa part arived. Also the lead trumpet players style was "non-leadish". Feel free to bash on my comment.
yeah my jazz band played this song amazing,i played the drums and we had a good percussion , bongos and congos. Our intro to the song was a percussion latin beat it was sick.
we played this in our jazz band last year. we had a rhodes sounding piano solo and a santana-esque guitar solo by your's truly. i think it sounds more latin like that.
... I heard NO problems with temp. They did a brilliant job even through the triplet quarter notes which is DAMN HARD to count through. All of their shots are together, and they also line up great with the Latin drum beat, also another hard thing to do.
And the song stays at the same speed throughout the entire song. They have a very solid drummer.
You guys are pretty especially at articulating but, to put your counting kind of sucks! Many times your band is playing all different tempos. Many notes seems off beat make sure to subdivide in your head (our band is currently playing this too.)
Playing this as our Audition Tune for Jazz band this year.
I'm normally Aux. Perc. and Kit Drummer, but this year I'm trying out for Piano/Keys too. Should be interesting. I doubt I'll make it as Piano/Keys but I'll try anyways.

bass player: your rhythm at the beginning is all over the place. try to get your on and off beats distinguished.

I think you are right, a tad faster would've been very good for this song. We did this song this year, and it was awesome, but it was a bit faster.

You guys did pretty good... some minor errors were made that were probably just once-and-never-again.
I LOVE this song. We're playing it for this Spring's Jazz Fest and I'm playing the tenor solo on a sop sax--it's going to be amazing.
Good job you guys!
