I have no idea what a cholo is, but asking what it is isn't really being nosy. There's a BIG difference between being nosy and asking questions. Like, if two people were talking and you come up and say, "Hahaha! That was so funny! Wait, what are we talking about? What did you say? Who was that? Huh? What are we talking about? Huh?" then you would be being nosy. But, if you go up to someone and ask, "Hey Bill? What's a cholo?" then that's not being nosy, you're just asking a question.
