  • i think it is funny they show a chrysler lock but a saturn car

  • What do i do if i cant turn my key to the on postion?? it wont move at all. I tried pushing in the release tab and its not working?? I m guessing its because i cant turn my key???

  • @macioce85 you can get it unstuck by inserting the key and lightly tapping on the handle of the key to free the stuck parts inside he cylinder..

  • @DormanProducts - Do you tap it from the sides of the head of the key or on the very tip of the key going inward?

  • @digitalflava You tap it gently inward

  • If you're stranded , you can usually get it unstuck by inserting the key and lightly tapping on the handle of the key 10-15 times to vibrate the sticking parts into position. To fix the problem, the lock will need to be replaced. You can buy a new uncoded lock for $45 and easily replace it yourself. To remove the inner plug you have to turn the lock counterclockwise to "acc" position (not to the "run" position) then push in on one of the spring loaded detent pins and continue turning.

  • NOW I see the comment. I was pullin my hair out trying to get it to out after I did exactly what the video shows. Mine is a 2000 Cherokee classic.

  • Great video! The instructions included with the cylinder didn't tell how to get to cover off to get to the tumblers.

And I didn't get that nice sheet as shown in the video. Tried to find it on your website to print out but couldn't. I have made my own to keep everything organized, but it would have been nice to easily download it!

  • @Tman317 One thing to add...on my '02 Jeep Grand Cherokee, I had to turn the key to the "accessory" position, and then push in the little buttons (there were two), and then rotate past this accessory position to get to the tumblers. This is backwards to what the video shows.

    Otherwise, it worked great.

  • Beautiful! I just started experiencing problems with my chrysler's ignition tumbler. Now I can rebuild it myself.
