ABC paid Myers for his animation. It seems logical that they knew Myers' intended outcome when they paid him--more incentive for Myers to make his case as convincing as possible, without any loose ends. Myers--like the WC--was not bound by a courtroom oath, and could use any means necessary to achieve maximum impact with his cartoon murder.
The straight line directly through Kennedy and Connally is showing the angle of fire; it doesn't necessarily mean that that is the exact path the bullet took through both bodies, reason being that bullets don't always go through peoples' bodies in a perfectly straight line, like a laser beam.
For example, this is exactly what happened with Oswald's wound; it curved.

BTW if you look closely at the Zapruder film you will also notice that Gov Connaly is, more or less, directly in front of Kennedy, only slightly to his left whereas Mr. Myers exaggerates it ridiculously in his animation.

He was blown back and too the left, which would lead most people to believe the shot came from the front right right? Basic physics right there. It doesn't explain the bullethole in the winshield. They weren't lined up like that. The Presedential limo was rebuilt and referbished immediately following the assassination following orders from LBJ. Nobody ever photographed the limo showing that the seat was lined up that way. They just jump to alot of phony conclusions to explain things and back up the Warren Commissions findings. They also found a bullet in the winshield, which was a fact suppressed by the WC and HSCA. Also, fatal head wound explains that it wasn't a shot from the rear.

2 questions for those who still believe Connaly was hit by a seperate bullet:
1. Where did the bullet that hit him originate from?
2. How did this bullet manage to MISS Kennedy entirely?
Note that I am not subscribing to any theories in this post, just soliciting answers to these 2 questions. I await any answers.
