  • It's a romanian movie. The Director chosed to do it in russian and french languages. But it's romanian, please do change that!

  • Watch the movie. Its sound quality is much more rich in depth than here. I am deeply moved.

Anyone knows who is the real violinist?

  • this is so not a french movie!!

  • She does a really convincing performance of this. Especially the bowing arm. I wonder how they did this. Is it her or a stand in? She even does vibrato on the notes with vibrato and straight tone on the notes that aren't vibrato. I've only been playing for 5 years, and she does a much better "fake" than I could ever do.

  • Did you cut out the two guys kissing backstage?

  • @Koudelkafan Not only did they cut that take; they also cut out the troupe giving the finger to the Bolshoi manager at the airport. Search for "pelicula el concierto"; the first result leads you to the whole final scene (including these two takes). The spoken parts have been dubbed into Spanish, though.

  • The vibrato on the cellist at 2:01. Haha..so bad...

  • @cicciontek Do you often make sweeping generalizations about enormous groups of people or is it just something you do on the internet?

  • c'est presque une torture d'écouter ça, c'est tellement beau, j'en pleure

  • @Sayofan2 tout à fait d'accord avec ça

  • This is torture, I wanna see a real performance of this piece now!

  • it's so beautiful, breath taking stunning

  • Hermoso! No tengo palabras esta pelicula es pura belleza y pura emocion!!! Bravo!!

  • Is this really her playing? It's hard to tell. I went to her biography on IMDB and it says that she is a singer, it says nothing about her being a violinist.

  • @surfboy No she's an actress, but she learnt the movements with the first violin of the Paris' Opera

  • unas película sumamente ideológica, para todos los que les gusta entender la cómoda historia donde los rusos, vietnamitas, chinos, cubanos, con malvados.

  • @Willou725 Yes but who is playing?

  • Incredible - who is the soloist?

  • @davidjgburnett Melanie Laurent who played in "Inglorious Bastards" - Quentin Tarantino

  • Sarah Nemtanu

  • @davidjgburnett Sarah Nemtanu is the violinist.

  • Excellent movie!

  • haha, why did you cut the kiss?

  • Film tout simplement brillant !!

  • Briliant movie!

  • This movie was incredible! I advise you watch it.

  • Correction: this isn't a french movie. The director is romanian. You can say that it is in french, but it will not be totally correct because they use russian language mostly.

  • 何度見ても素晴らしいラストシーン。。。

  • anybody have a clue as to what the heck is going on here? or do you have to be French to understand this?

  • @cornel999 See note added to my post!!

  • you can get this movie/DVD from Netflix. Very good one/

  • @cornel999 not french, you'll have to see the movie to understand

  • @cornel999 No you have to see the whole movie to understand...this is a very good movie full of emotions and this is the final scene where you understand why she's playing that well! See the movie ;) "Le concert" with Melanie Laurent as the solist

  • @cornel999 Not necessarily you must be French, you can also be Russian to understand it. The world doesn't end outside of the English culture... Indeed, the film is French-Russian. If you like it, like for a translated version that suits you.

  • @cornel999 So it's true that english speakers cannot conceive that there are other languages in the world?

English-es never translate their things in another languages to let other understand, but get angry when other don't use eng

  • @cornel999 So it's true that english speakers cannot conceive that there are other languages in the world?

English-es never translate their things in another languages to let other understand, but get angry when other don't use eng.

Accept the fact that the world is big...

  • @cornel999 there are english subtitles when they speak ._. but if you refer to the context, you have to see the movie or else you won't understand

  • @cornel999 i'm french so want do you want to unterstand?

  • before the orchestra conductor wanted to play the violin concerto of Tchaikovsky but a Communist leader prevents them to play the piece because there had some Jews in the orchestra whose Lea that the solist of brown-black hair. And this is the end of the movie when you learn that Anne-Marie (it's the blond girl) the principal violist is the daughter of Lea who was deported by Siberia with her husband and that the orchestra leader successful finally to finish the concerto
