She does a really convincing performance of this. Especially the bowing arm. I wonder how they did this. Is it her or a stand in? She even does vibrato on the notes with vibrato and straight tone on the notes that aren't vibrato. I've only been playing for 5 years, and she does a much better "fake" than I could ever do.
@Koudelkafan Not only did they cut that take; they also cut out the troupe giving the finger to the Bolshoi manager at the airport. Search for "pelicula el concierto"; the first result leads you to the whole final scene (including these two takes). The spoken parts have been dubbed into Spanish, though.
Is this really her playing? It's hard to tell. I went to her biography on IMDB and it says that she is a singer, it says nothing about her being a violinist.
unas película sumamente ideológica, para todos los que les gusta entender la cómoda historia donde los rusos, vietnamitas, chinos, cubanos, con malvados.
Correction: this isn't a french movie. The director is romanian. You can say that it is in french, but it will not be totally correct because they use russian language mostly.
@cornel999 No you have to see the whole movie to understand...this is a very good movie full of emotions and this is the final scene where you understand why she's playing that well! See the movie ;) "Le concert" with Melanie Laurent as the solist
@cornel999 Not necessarily you must be French, you can also be Russian to understand it. The world doesn't end outside of the English culture... Indeed, the film is French-Russian. If you like it, like for a translated version that suits you.
before the orchestra conductor wanted to play the violin concerto of Tchaikovsky but a Communist leader prevents them to play the piece because there had some Jews in the orchestra whose Lea that the solist of brown-black hair. And this is the end of the movie when you learn that Anne-Marie (it's the blond girl) the principal violist is the daughter of Lea who was deported by Siberia with her husband and that the orchestra leader successful finally to finish the concerto

@cicciontek Do you often make sweeping generalizations about enormous groups of people or is it just something you do on the internet?
