The Christian code of conduct is Peace making & Love, any other philosophy, for them, is False. Anyone who calls themselves a 'Christian,' but exhibits hate, is not a true follower of 'Christ.'
atheists push people away from faith ,in return they give the emptiness of heart and nothing .They think they are wise, pride ,and that they are owe everything of themselves ,that rose from nothing and later they will be nothing again :-)) ,,The fool says in his heart, "There is no God." Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall .goodness and love ,wisdom does not come from nothingness. START from ,,The Divine Mercy Devotion? - EWTN ,, find it on google
Forgive me. His joke was that Christianity is build on forgiveness, or at least their love for forgiveness. So he told the angry guys to forgive him, but we all know they were full of shit.
@LastPartycream He said "Then forgive me" because according to the bible (I'm an Ex-Christain. I stopped after I realized how fucked up it was) christans must love everybody, and forgive people for their sins.
@skegpit Who says you have to take a position? Is there some unwritten rule that says you absolutely mist take a definate position on the nature of the cosmos, something no human could possibly know? Agnosticism is the most logical position.
Jesus taught, that the one who are sin free, can cast the stone ( judge )
How can we remove the splinter in someones eye, if we have a whole beam in our own.
These christian rednecks are sinners, like the rest of us with whole beams in their eyes. But reminding them about Jesus's lesson of forgiveness ain't totally inefficient.
To @gunwalker, actually one of the most popular versions of the bible WAS written by a king. King James I of England authorized a new translation of the bible a mere 85 years after the very first English translation of said bible. Basically James locked up a bunch of translators and ordered them to remove parts of the bible based solely on his own political agenda. Funny how people can claim this as the "word of god" when it's really just a bureaucratic power move from 1611.
@nightofthelivingdon I believe you're speaking of the Apocrypha if I'm right? The small section in between the books Malachi and Matthew (Old and New testament)? This part was actually added by the Roman Catholic Church. It isn't inerrant, unlike the rest of the bible. King James knew this and had it removed from the Bible. The translation put out was known as the King James Version, later the new King James Version was released which was far easier to understand,
@HamIsDie Well the laws of Thermodynamics clearly state: " Energy cannot be Created or Destroyed " Simply put, Energy cannot pop into existence and energy cannot disappear.
The whole universe is filled with unfathomable amounts of Energy i'm afraid ..
Where did the initial Energy come from ? The energy that big bang produced had to be exactly equal to the total amount of Energy in the universe today.
So that doesn't explain anything, Where did the Energy come from ?

@HamIsDie Nobody knows the answer, Neil Turok of Cambridge university says in his lecture called " What banged "
" lets just assume that when the universe sprang into existence, it must have done so full of some kind of energy " " We don't have any notion of, what the beginning of time is "
Breaking the laws of Thermodynamics again are we ;) Energy popping into existence is a unscientific belief, in the exact same way as God creating the universe is
@mukkohaha Then where did god come from? He was always there? - "Energy popping into existence is an unscientific belief" you said it yourself. Big bang is as far as our science can get us today. Science is backing religion into a corner with every discovery we make. You and religious idiots like yourself will not always have the luxury of hiding behind what science cannot yet tell us. You're a fucking coward.
@HamIsDie "Science is backing religion into a corner with every discovery we make." Science rests on methodological naturalism. It cannot comment on the 'supernatural'; it remains neutral.
@MrDougiemo "a.k.a. 'fiction'" And you know this how? Given that we understand all of "4% of everything" (to quote Richard Panek), a 96% giant question mark on the universe & existence gives you what confidence to say that the supernatural is fiction?
@gmn545 It doesn't, but until you find evidence or at least calculate a high probability for something existing then it is moronic to believe in God or anything supernatural. Should I go through life thinking invisible leprechauns exist just because we haven't discovered 100% of the universe yet? No. You only rationalise God because millions of others believe in it.
@MrDougiemo 1. I'm agnostic so take your head out of your ass. 2. "moronic to believe in God" Yeah because there's only one definition for 'God', right? Pshh. 3. "because millions of others believe in it" I don't settle for ad populum, sorry. "If you were brought up in ancient Greece..." Wrong. Influence from cultural upbringing doesn't [necessarily] determine one's beliefs. Two examples that refute your claim: Socrates and Plato. "Think for yoursef" Coming from a guy parroting Dawkins? lol
@gmn545 None of the definitions for God are true. Get YOUR head out of your arse and stop sitting on the fence. God is obviously man made to give people an attempted understanding of why we're here and to explain why things happen on earth,it overcomplicates an already complex matter even though religious people think otherwise. Occam's razor and all that
You still haven't proved me wrong on my leprechaun statement. You are basically the person allowing room for a possible invisible leprechaun.
@MrDougiemo "none of the definitions for God are true" Really? Pantheist argument: 1) God = universe; 2) the universe exists; 3) Therefore, God exists. Irrefutable. 'God' defined differently is also a placeholder word for the individual's interaction with the numinous/pleroma - genuine religious experiences. In another way, 'God' is a collection of transpersonal cognitive and behavioral patterns across a given social system. And MANY other ways... not an old man with a beard standing on a cloud.
@gmn545 God = Universe.... I stopped reading after that.
God over complicates things because: what created God? then what created the thing that created God? and so forth... Why is it when you ask a religious person this they say something like "God exists outside of time and space and didn't need to be created". Well why can't you just take out this "God" part and say the universe exists outside of time and space and didn't need to be created? It over complicates everything.
@MrDougiemo "I stopped reading after that" How intellectually honest of you. "what created God?" A Theist would say not all things exist contingently but some necessarily, by their own nature. Not special pleading because it applies to mathematical sets, numbers, etc. "God is a man made word just like Spaghetti" which come with specific definitions, so it can NOT "be whatever it wants to be made of": it's material, by definition, ergo it cannot be the author of matter itself. Guess YOU fail.
@MrDougiemo Nice try with the word game; it fails because all you're doing is calling it "FSM" while stripping it of it's definition (particulary the "S" part!). Seriously, the Dawkins talking points seem to be your only source of material (which is quite sad).
@gmn545 FSM because there is a word count... Did you not read my part about it was omnipresent before and then decided to be made of spaghetti? I guess not.
@MrDougiemo "it was omnipresent" Then it wasn't flying 'sphagetti' to being with, and therefore was not a F"S"M that was the "creator". Keep trying though.
@MrDougiemo If it IS material now, then it does require material evidence for its existence. 'God' however remains immaterial. Again, nice try with the word game. If you call knocking off all the chess pieces with your hand and flipping over the board a "valid" move, then you do win I guess. LOL!
@gmn545 It became omnipresent because I coughed once and then the bacteria that came out warped to another dimension. In that dimension was Elvis Presley, just kicking back playing boggle with his friends. Then the bacteria killed him and over trillions of earth years he became what we know as FSM now. Before that, though, he created the universe to play in and when humans came along and made spaghetti, he loved it so much that he carved his body out with it.
@MrDougiemo "it overcomplicates an already complex matter" How? Funny how using 'God' as a terminator gets frowned on because supposedly, 'a theory that explains everything explains nothing' ... yet a "Theory of Everything" is precisely what scientists are hoping to find. If you're saying 'God' can't be an explanation for the universe because we don't know where 'God' came from, you do NOT need an explanation of the explanation in order to validate it. Or else, several theories in science fail.
@gmn545 and you might of paraphrased "moronic to believe in god" to suit your needs there... I said "until you find evidence or at least calculate a high probability for something existing then it is moronic to believe in God or anything supernatural"
I didn't once say anything about definitions of God. Until you can show a slight bit of evidence that there is God or at least show why there should be a God, you might as well believe in the flying spaghetti monster.
@MrDougiemo "you might as well believe in the flying spaghetti monster" For Theists, FSM fails as an explanation, because it wouldn't match the type of cause necessary to bring about the universe. Not confined to spacetime, non-material (as the (for lack of a better word) "creator" of matter), etc. Since you can't strip a word like 'spaghetti' of its definition (a *material* substance), then a material being cannot be what brought about matter itself. Are Dawkins' talking points all you have?
@gmn545 What does it's name have to do with anything? God is a man made word just like Spaghetti... It created itself, it can be whatever it wants to be made of.
FSM doesn't fail as an explanation, it is the creator of the universe. You fail at this logic thing.
@MrDougiemo "it created itself" A non-existent thing is "no-thing" and cannot become existent by "itself". Fail. "the universe exists outside of time and space" The universe IS space/time. How can it be outside itself? Are you serious?!?
@gmn545 :) It's funny when you back people like yourself into corners and all they can do is make up stuff. Why are you allowed to say that God exists outside of time and space with no evidence that there is anything outside of time and space. I guess that's what it all boils down to, people like you can make stuff up all you want. Trying desperately to make what they believe in work in reality, but at the end of the day, you ARE just making stuff up.
@MrDougiemo It's funny when people like yourself appeal to psychological projection in the face of failed parroting of talking points :) "Allowed to say that God exists outside of time and space"? When did I say that? Quote me. lol People like you can calim to be "thinking for yourself" when in actuality you aren't: you're parroting commonly used (and rather weak) arguments from the New Atheist camp. At the end of the day, you ARE just settling for incredulity and groupthinking.
@MrDougiemo "created time and space" The panentheist 'God'. Do you know how they define 'God' or do you still think that there's only one definition? lol
@MrDougiemo "you don't think" Learn to read. I said, "where did I say that?" Putting words in my mouth and then concluding I said X, then attacking X is called strawmanning buddy. Keep trying though.
@gmn545 Hahaha so what is the point in saying "where did i say that" and trying to slate me for it when you DO believe that. It's like a KKK member shouting at someone because he's never actually told them he's racist (even though he has the costume and has been seen lynching negros)
@MrDougiemo "when you DO believe that" Huh? Dude, I'm agnostic, i.e. suspend judgment. This is for the sake of argument, and I'm astonished by your staggering ignorance regarding the concept of 'God'. You can't get past the classical [caricatured] theist definition, and just handwaved the other definitions for them. Attacking one thing while it's not being argued for is strawmanning.
All you have are logical fallacies, talking points, and no mind of your own. What a waste of space you are.
@gmn545 Don't argue for it if you don't believe in it then, you absolute moron. Agnostics like you are a waste of space. Arguing for the sake of arguing is called trolling; ergo, you are a troll. We are done.
@MrDougiemo "Don't argue for it if you don't believe in it" You can argue things on factual, objective grounds and the FACT remains you're both ignorant of and can only handwave at the truth of 'God' being defined in more than one way (which I do acknowledge). And no, I refuted your baseless assertion of "none of the definitions for God are true" all you can do is handwave. You're not a freethinker; you're a groupthinker, spouting off weak talking points. And yeah ...*sticks fork* you ARE done.
@MrDougiemo "when you back people like yourself into corners and all they can do is make up stuff" -- You. Funny how that's exactly what you're doing when trying to argue for the FSM. Congrats on owning yourself. Hahahaha.
@gmn545 If you were brought up in ancient Greece, you would believe that Zeus was king of the gods on Mount Olympia, creating the weather depending on how happy he was. It just so happens you've been brought up in a Christian (I'm guessing) family and so believe what they have told you. Think for yourself, stop being a sheep to your cult.
@HamIsDie Wrong. Like I said, since science rests on methodological naturalism (note: NOT metaphysical, but methodological) it cannot comment on the supernatural. It's why Darwin himself thought it was "absurd to doubt that a man might be an ardent theist and an evolutionist", and why the geneticist/physician who led the Human Genome Project is a devout evangelical christian. And "you're" ignorant.
@HamIsDie Well... I forgive you, for all the intolerant and harsh things you just said, I do forgive it all, so we can start on a fresh.
Science cannot tell us that god didn't create the universe, Science can't even explain the universe and existence, it cannot tell where energy came from, what the beginning of time was. Where the Energy comes from keeping the Electrons circling the nucleus. This energy never fades away without getting added new energy.
@mukkohaha Wow, way to avoid my logic by taking offense to it.. Typical Christian. Now, if you want to have an actual argument, re-read my post, and make a rebuttal. If not, admit you are wrong.
@HamIsDie you avoid common logic while being offensive. Saying that God is disproved via science which simply isn't the case.
I don't avoid your logic either, i have no problem with your logic. I have a problem with your behavior though, but frankly i don't care' but when i'm debating i notice that when people are screwed in their head they tend to lean on such behavior.
@mukkohaha Your an idiot. I never said God was disproved by science, re-read my comment, then try and make a proper rebuttal. So far you haven't said anything convincing and have pointed out twice now that you are offended by what I have to say. Epic fail.
@mukkohaha No, you just continually avoid logic and refuse to rebuttal to any of my points. Your just playing a victim card by saying that I offend you. You are hiding behind offense. I'm assuming that you're going to just keep responding fruitless comments in the hope that I tire out and give up to your ignorance of logic; and you are right. Until you make a counter-argument to my previous points, there is no need to respond.
@HamIsDie you most likely know less about science in general then myself, and yet you feel smarter then me ? Climb down from your pedestal and shut up silly person.
God creating the universe would explain where energy came from, Otherwise their is no explanation. If their is no God Energy cannot magically pop into existence.
The big bang Cannot create Energy that wasn't there already.
" energy has always been their " Infinite time now ? go away -
@mukkohaha "the big bang cannot create energy that wasn't there already." You say this now. But you must think... An explosion so exponential, expansion many times faster than the speed of light, can create energy. An explosion this large can create energy. Physics of today saw we need evergy to create matter and vise versa, but physics was different in the beginning, where all forces of the universe were unified.
@mukkohaha I see you only know the basics, quantum mechanics says nothing (the beginning of the universe) is unstable. Because of this unstable nothingness a bubblebegin to form and then rapidly expands FASTER THEN THE SPEED OF LIGHT, each bubble is a separate universe creating another part of the multiverse. We know that the universe can expand faster than the speed of light because of red shift. We can only see 13.7 billion light years away yet galaxies are expanding faster away from the earth
@mukkohaha You cite Einstein when it suits you, but obviously haven't really read any of his works. Matter cannot be created or destroyed, but it can be changed into energy.
Your electron question. Let's approach it. Earth orbits the sun in a gravitational freefall. However, the earth has a natural speed (KE) high enough that the pull never tugs it straight down, much as a ball thrown forward will arc. Energy is not required to maintain motion; merely to change it.
@daberko120ch Many times faster then the speed of light ? Nothing can be faster then the speed of light according to Einstein, Just getting something to be a small Fraction faster then the speed of light would require more energy then their is in the entire universe right now.
Where do the Energy come from that keeps the electron circling around the nucleus ?
It never has to be added energy, it just keeps going forever ? how ;) ?
who the fuck said i was a christian ,im just stating what they believe ,he obviously makes no sense and neither do you so your best option is to STFU!!
@vikingWindmill Belief isn't what constitutes Religion. Look up the definition of religion some time?
The Big Bang is a theory backed up by scientific studies by the worlds brightest minds of how the universe as we know it came to be. It is by no means 100% accurate and is not a great explanation of what came before it but at least science doesn't pretend know everything, unlike religion.
@vikingWindmill Where does the definition for Atheism say that Atheists are people that believe in the Big Bang Theory? You're making up stuff again, just like religion.
@vikingWindmill so I take it that you also believe in Neptune, Venus, Mars, Mercury, and Zeus? And all of the other Gods you're not supposed to acknowledge. Because if you don't then you're not only an Atheist yourself, you're a hypocrite too.
@vikingWindmill Haha Atheism isn't a religion idiot, quit making things up. You're most likely thinking of Christianity or Catholicism since their god burns you in Hell for eternity for not obeying his every command and having faith. Your argument has just lost all credibility because you said Atheism was a religion, it shows you have no understanding of the subject you're talking about.
"You're most likely thinking of Christianity or Catholicism since their god burns you in Hell for eternity for not obeying his every command and having faith."
Congratulations - you're the biggest retard of all times, OF ALL TIMES.
@vikingWindmill Do I need to cite the various parts of the Bible where it not only speaks of those things but also of God ordering mass murders of entire populations, condoning slavery, and ordering parents to stone and kill their kids? I would be more than willing :) also you still have nothing to support your claims.
@vikingWindmill Exodus 21:20-21 If a man beats his male or female slave with a rod and the slave dies as a direct result, he must be punished, but he is not to be punished if the slave gets up after a day or two, since the slave is his property.
Exodus 35:2
For six days, work is to be done, but the seventh day shall be your holy day, a Sabbath of rest to the LORD. Whoever does any work on it must be put to death.
Happy shall he be, that taketh and dasheth thy little ones Against the rock.
@fuckyeah009 you don't like this god huh ;) well he is the Master and Creator,
in a online game, The host can kick you, ban you, mute you, slap you' Their you can just leave the server and join another to find a new host.
But in reality you have to cope with your only host. And he is a good host. After we sinned god stopped treating us the same way as in paradise live with it, or stop sinning. you can only do 1 of these 2 things.
@mukkohaha Well I guess that's the difference between me and you. There are people like me to where even if God does end up being real will stand up to a Tyrant like him instead of standing beside him just so I can get the benefits. I'll stand up against a Tyrant any day, that's how the United States was made along with other countries that are great to live in, from people standing up against kings that demand everyone bow down at their feet or die. There's no such thing as sin, just morality.
@mukkohaha lol unlike you i don't give into anything out of pure fear. you're weak. im sure nothing is going to happen, but let's just say it does for fun. i'll stand up against your tyrant of a god
Oh, looky here, by some coincidence all those quotes are from the Old Testament, something that was DENIED and NULLIFIED with the coming of Christ. We aren't talking about Judaism here, we're talking about CHRISTIANITY, and I may have not been specific, but Orthodox Christianity. You can look it up. It won't hurt your peanut brain if you read a little.
@vikingWindmill I don't know if you have notice or not but the same "God" that wrote the new testament wrote the old testament. Regardless of what it says in the new testament those events still happened if you believe in the Bible. Take murderers for example; if they kill a person and are sentenced to death but say they are changing their ways, it doesn't matter, they still committed the crime. If people are less cruel than your god then what does that say about him? He is loving? haha
You DON'T believe in the Bible. You believe in GOD, and the Bible is one of the many path towards God, and even HE said you shouldn't live your life by the Bible.
God isn't cruel, because he doesn't sentence the killer, WE HUMANS DO, and you know you can't trust a killer, because killers are mentally ill, I think science proved that. God isn't cruel, you self-tighteous atheists are. But don't worry, he doesn't send you to hell just for mere blasphemy, all is forgiven.
Guess the name - Imaginary sphere of energy that exploded for no fucking reason and created everything. Acting smart isn't for people with down syndrome, so knock it off.
@vikingWindmill What are you talking about? This isn't the big bang theory vs. god. I've never once mentioned the big bang theory. It could be true; I mean it's backed by many of our brightest minds, but what I'm saying is that God isn't true. God is not only illogical but is clearly man made. The fact that you can't accept that shows your simple mindedness.
One fact for you:
Statistics show that low IQ correlates with religiosity. Basically, the smarter you are, the less you believe in God.
@MrDougiemo "Basically, the smarter you are, the less you believe in God."??? Christopher Langan, dubbed the "Smartest Man in America" is a Theist. His IQ reportedly "broke the ceiling of tests" administered by neuropsychologists, ranging between 195-210. Bertrand Russell had this to say about a man he knew: "the most perfect example I have ever known of genius as traditionally conceived...". That man was Ludwig Wittgenstein - a Christian.
@vikingWindmill I do not believe in God. The Bible is supposed to be God's word but is full of so my contradictory statements and has so many happenings that Science has proved didn't happen and could never happen in it that discredits the Bible totally. You can call atheists names all you want when you get backed into a corner but until you come up with a valid argument to support your claims of God everything you say means nothing. God sentences killers to hell. Blind faith is foolish..Sheep
Yes, that's right. Because believing that a sphere of energy suddenly exploded for no reason and created everything isn't blind at all. Feels like dejavu describing it like that. Tell me something, are you so self-righteous that you must use misinformation to satisfy yourself? Believe me, lots of the people I call friends are atheists, but God help you, people like you are just walking bastions of intolerance and blind self-confidence.
@vikingWindmill Haha riddle me this. When did I ever say in our entire conversation that I am a firm believer in the Big Bang Theory?! There is a reason it is called a theory and that is because it has not been proven to be real. See the difference between Science and religion yet? In Science you don't say something is real just because it has the possibility to be real which you obviously don't understand. With that being said the Big Bang does have more evidence pointing towards it than God.
"With that being said the Big Bang does have more evidence pointing towards it than God." That was the stupidest thing I have ever heard in my entire life. Saying that one fairy tale is truer than another. Hats off to you, sir.
But what if I told you that the Big Bang THEORY was wrong and stupid? You would automatically call me a close-minded retarded bigot, "herp and derp" included.
You see, I try to defend both religious and atheists, but thene you come in...
@fuckyeah009 You clearly misunderstand what a scientific theory is. Its not the same as a layman saying they have a theory on something which just means they have an idea. A scientific theory is to suit fact and evidence to explain why they are in such a way. The Big Bang theory is based on multitude of evidence and is considered fact in the scientific community. If you have no understanding of any of the things you are "against" that is just you touting your own ignorance around.
@TheReelNeel False, do yourself a favor and take a college Chem class or at least do a nice Google search. The statement, "He is a terrible person" is technically a theory but it is not fact. Theories are a way of showing how you think something works based on logic, observation and reason; they have a likelihood of being true but it doesn't mean they are. That is why theories can always be disproved but never fully proven. You almost had it, but you're confusing it with Scientific Law.
@fuckyeah009 Scientific theory explains and predicts phenomena. lets see how creationism or God stacks up against it? what is out there that can prove the big bang theory is incorrect? yeah it has issues and faults(some of which have been resolved) and in time there might be a better more correct theory but for now it's correct.
@TheReelNeel I think you're arguing with the wrong person. If you saw my comment at the top of the page then you would realize that I have already said that the Big Bang Theory has more evidence supporting it than God does. I don't believe in God and never will until I see evidence of one.
@fuckyeah009 "...reason it is called a theory and that is because it has not been proven..."
The scientific definition of "theory" and the colloquial, common usage of theory are often used interchangeably, when they ought not to be, i.e., "Theory of Gravity, "Atomic Theory," "Heliocentric Theory," "Theory of Plate Tectonics," et cetera. Gravity, the physics of chemistry/atoms, the sun being the center of our solar system, and earth's crust being comprised of plates are rather well established.
@fuckyeah009 By no means is it guaranteed to be 100% comprehensive, but several theories are probably airtight by now (it has been stated that if the sun rose from the west just once, there goes the Heliocentric Theory). Obviously, we can't just assert which ones those are, because if we knew what was imperfect about any of them, we'd go about changing them. Still, as you mentioned, better explanations are to be found via this method than faith in any doctrine.
@vikingWindmill Dillusional inbred christian, I used to be like you going to church, being a good christian, then I noticed the church protects pedophile priests, and I noticed the only racist people around were those who claimed a religion as such Christianity had the highest percentage of bigots in America and overseas, oh and intolerance is a specialty for Christs-minions. Slavery in Africa, Latin America, Europe, and America, was started as a Christian-colonial led trade. Fucking Idiot.
Whoa, someone decided to come out of the trash can. What's the matter? Did your father rape you? What do I have anything to do with it? Just because you're an inbred redneck doesn't mean you should take it out on other people. You don't have to be religious to be tolerant and understanding.
@vikingWindmill That trash can is my home your talking about, and sure I sleep with my sister, we are having another child come February, but hey like a good christian does right?
"You don't have to be religious to be tolerant and understanding." 100% agree
But you have to be an idiot to say atheism is a "Religion" haha. Back to my trash can now.
@vikingWindmill YOU FUCKING STUPID IGNORANT UNEDUCATED AND ARROGANT UNINFORMED BRAINWASHED ZOMBIE CHRISTIAN IMBECILE, ATHEISM is NOT a RELIGION. Cheers : )
@MrDougiemo By the dictionary definition, atheism is not a religion.
Atheism: "The belief that whatever created the universe, was unintelligent." If someone believes that statement, then they are on the verge of creating their own religion. That is a belief about the creator of the universe, and there is no evidence for that belief.
Atheist are religious in that they claim to know something about the creator of the universe (namely, that it was unintelligent and not Jesus).
@zozefup That has to be the single most daft thing I've ever read. Atheism is to religion what black is to colour. A world view free of belief. As an atheist I don't BELIEVE that there is no creator - I have as little desire to believe in a god as I have need to believe that there is a creator.
Religion is outdated, and due to it's cut-in-stone nature, it will remain outdated. The more we know about the universe, the less room there is for god.
@Norralin Atheist believe that God does not exist (thus, God did not create the universe). If a person does not know if God exists or not, then they are agnostic. Atheism makes assertions.
However, an atheist cannot admit that they "believe God doesn't exist" even though it's a true statement. They don't admit it because they want to avoid a burden of proof. This is like a Theist saying they don't believe in anything, they just have a lack of belief in anything other than God.
@zozefup Also if the dictionary states that atheism is no religion, then that is what that word means. I understand religious people need to twist words to fit their own views, but come on. Words have meanings, and if your definition of words are diametrically opposed to the common conception you'll have a hard time having normal conversations with anyone.
Atheism is no religion, theory does not mean speculation, the earth is older than 6000 years, BBT has nothing to do with evolution
@zozefup are u fucking retarded?? The definition of atheism is not "whatever created the universe was unintelligent" HAHAHHAHAHA are u retarded kid? Man are you immune to knowledge??
Atheism: "Atheism is, in a broad sense, the rejection of belief in the existence of deities.[1] "
@mantheman100 Theism is, in a broad sense, the rejection of belief in the inexistence of deities.
Do you see a problem with this definition? It is the same thing you are doing to atheism. Atheism is more than a lack of belief. It is the assertion that God does not exist.
Also, no atheist believes that something intelligent created the universe. Or do you want to admit something intelligent may have caused the universe? Slippery slope if you admit that as an atheist.
@zozefup man... I am going to tell you this ONE TIME. If "ID" was even remotely true, the one who designed this universe is the biggest fucking RETARD in the universe. Sorry but I reject that you even call it Intelligent design, If god was real It would be Stupid design. Have you ever read about the universe? do you know anything about the universe? do you know ANYTHING about the horrible design this universe has? The few planets who support life, the singularities, the horrible efficiency...
@mantheman100 If the strong nuclear force was changed by 1/1,000 in strength, then atoms could not form. Same is true for the weak nuclear force. If the gravity equation was changed by 1/100,000,000 then galaxies could not form. Same is true for 1000s of other laws of physics, chemistry, electromagnetism, motion...
If it was true that the universe was randomly designed, then all the laws wouldn't be perfectly set to create something complex. Our universe is complex and orderly
@zozefup oh please,, don't bring up nuclear atom physics... Let me bring up an argument that destroys yours.. but first I have feel like I need to declare that I never said the universe is stupidly created, I said that IF someone created it, he/she is a retard, there is a difference.
Anyways.
If the bible and almost every holy scripture says that the universe is 6000-10000 years old, that means that all of the hundreds dating methods would be wrong, and which are VERY ACCURATE. and no Dinosaurs.
@mantheman100 I do not believe the earth is 6000-10,000 years old. Neither did Augustine in the year 430 AD. Many people of the early church thought there was no reason, based on the bible, to believe that the earth was that age.
@degoban Well... Belief backed up by scientific discovery and thinking.
But aside from that, as I said before, belief doesn't constitute religion. Learn the difference please.
In any case, religious people believe in something because they are told that is the truth, rather than starting with an open mind and discovering things based on probability, evidence etc.
@degoban But what you are saying is essentially that if you can't disprove that God doesn't exist then you have a belief that it doesn't exist and that is like religion.
Well, sir. I also believe that Santa Claus and Unicorns dont exist. I can't prove it though (they could be invisible and exist outside of time and space).
Does that mean that the non-belief in those constitutes a religion? In that case I'm religious about an infinite number of things that don't exist.
@MrDougiemo You can trace the genesis of Santa or Unicorns in the human history, so you know that they are a fantasy creation. Unicorn is a myth built on rhinoceros, and this is an example how something real can be distorted to become fictional, maybe as religion did with god.
Anyway, if you think that god is a link in the cause-effect process that generated the universe, or just an entity, he's not related with human history or fantasy and he could be real as it couldn't be.
@MrDougiemo You can't prove it, that's the point. Anyway Yeti comes from ancient humans lore across cultures, while Spaghetti monster was created few years ago. Both are clearly result of humans creativity, so they probably don't exist, at least not on this earth.
Do you know why atheists can't solve exponential equations? They don't believe in higher powers.

" lets just assume that when the universe sprang into existence, it must have done so full of some kind of energy " " We don't have any notion of, what the beginning of time is "
Breaking the laws of Thermodynamics again are we ;) Energy popping into existence is a unscientific belief, in the exact same way as God creating the universe is
mukkohaha 4 days ago
@mukkohaha Then where did god come from? He was always there? - "Energy popping into existence is an unscientific belief" you said it yourself. Big bang is as far as our science can get us today. You're a fucking coward.
HamIsDie 3 days ago
@HamIsDie "Science is backing religion into a corner with every discovery we make." Science rests on methodological naturalism. It cannot comment on the 'supernatural'; it remains neutral.
gmn545 3 days ago
@gmn545 The 'supernatural' - a.k.a. 'fiction'.
MrDougiemo 3 days ago
@MrDougiemo "a.k.a. 'fiction'" And you know this how? Given that we understand all of "4% of everything" (to quote Richard Panek), a 96% giant question mark on the universe & existence gives you what confidence to say that the supernatural is fiction?
gmn545 2 days ago
@gmn545 It doesn't, but until you find evidence or at least calculate a high probability for something existing then it is moronic to believe in God or anything supernatural. Should I go through life thinking invisible leprechauns exist just because we haven't discovered 100% of the universe yet? No. You only rationalise God because millions of others believe in it.
MrDougiemo 2 days ago
@MrDougiemo 1. I'm agnostic so take your head out of your ass. 2. "moronic to believe in God" Yeah because there's only one definition for 'God', right? Pshh. 3. "because millions of others believe in it" I don't settle for ad populum, sorry. "If you were brought up in ancient Greece..." Wrong. Influence from cultural upbringing doesn't [necessarily] determine one's beliefs. Two examples that refute your claim: Socrates and Plato. "Think for yoursef" Coming from a guy parroting Dawkins? lol
gmn545 2 days ago
@gmn545 None of the definitions for God are true. Get YOUR head out of your arse and stop sitting on the fence. God is obviously man made to give people an attempted understanding of why we're here and to explain why things happen on earth,it overcomplicates an already complex matter even though religious people think otherwise. Occam's razor and all that
You still haven't proved me wrong on my leprechaun statement. You are basically the person allowing room for a possible invisible leprechaun.
MrDougiemo 2 days ago
@MrDougiemo "none of the definitions for God are true" Really? Pantheist argument: 1) God = universe; 2) the universe exists; 3) Therefore, God exists. Irrefutable. 'God' defined differently is also a placeholder word for the individual's interaction with the numinous/pleroma - genuine religious experiences. In another way, 'God' is a collection of transpersonal cognitive and behavioral patterns across a given social system. And MANY other ways... not an old man with a beard standing on a cloud.
gmn545 2 days ago
@gmn545 God = Universe.... I stopped reading after that.
God over complicates things because: what created God? then what created the thing that created God? and so forth... Why is it when you ask a religious person this they say something like "God exists outside of time and space and didn't need to be created". Well why can't you just take out this "God" part and say the universe exists outside of time and space and didn't need to be created? It over complicates everything.
MrDougiemo 2 days ago
@MrDougiemo "I stopped reading after that" How intellectually honest of you. "what created God?" A Theist would say not all things exist contingently but some necessarily, by their own nature. Not special pleading because it applies to mathematical sets, numbers, etc. "God is a man made word just like Spaghetti" which come with specific definitions, so it can NOT "be whatever it wants to be made of": it's material, by definition, ergo it cannot be the author of matter itself. Guess YOU fail.
gmn545 2 days ago
@gmn545 Intellectually honest? As opposed to regularly honest...
No, you see FSM was omnipresent before, then he got bored and created the universe. He liked spaghetti so much that he decided to be made out of it.
MrDougiemo 2 days ago
@MrDougiemo Nice try with the word game; it fails because all you're doing is calling it "FSM" while stripping it of it's definition (particulary the "S" part!). Seriously, the Dawkins talking points seem to be your only source of material (which is quite sad).
gmn545 2 days ago
@gmn545 FSM because there is a word count... Did you not read my part about it was omnipresent before and then decided to be made of spaghetti? I guess not.
MrDougiemo 2 days ago
@MrDougiemo "it was omnipresent" Then it wasn't flying 'sphagetti' to being with, and therefore was not a F"S"M that was the "creator". Keep trying though.
gmn545 2 days ago
@gmn545 I did say "what we know as FSM now" which means it wasn't like that before... Keep trying though.
MrDougiemo 2 days ago
@MrDougiemo If it IS material now, then it does require material evidence for its existence. 'God' however remains immaterial. Again, nice try with the word game. If you call knocking off all the chess pieces with your hand and flipping over the board a "valid" move, then you do win I guess. LOL!
gmn545 2 days ago
@gmn545 It became omnipresent because I coughed once and then the bacteria that came out warped to another dimension. In that dimension was Elvis Presley, just kicking back playing boggle with his friends. Then the bacteria killed him and over trillions of earth years he became what we know as FSM now. Before that, though, he created the universe to play in and when humans came along and made spaghetti, he loved it so much that he carved his body out with it.
MrDougiemo 2 days ago
@MrDougiemo LOL! Such an incoherent (and filled with gaping holes) explanation doesn't even deserve to be addressed.
gmn545 2 days ago
@gmn545 hahaha I guess I win then :)
MrDougiemo 2 days ago
@MrDougiemo "it overcomplicates an already complex matter" How? Funny how using 'God' as a terminator gets frowned on because supposedly, 'a theory that explains everything explains nothing' ... yet a "Theory of Everything" is precisely what scientists are hoping to find. If you're saying 'God' can't be an explanation for the universe because we don't know where 'God' came from, you do NOT need an explanation of the explanation in order to validate it. Or else, several theories in science fail.
gmn545 2 days ago
@gmn545 and you might of paraphrased "moronic to believe in god" to suit your needs there... I said "until you find evidence or at least calculate a high probability for something existing then it is moronic to believe in God or anything supernatural"
I didn't once say anything about definitions of God. Until you can show a slight bit of evidence that there is God or at least show why there should be a God, you might as well believe in the flying spaghetti monster.
MrDougiemo 2 days ago
@MrDougiemo "you might as well believe in the flying spaghetti monster" For Theists, FSM fails as an explanation, because it wouldn't match the type of cause necessary to bring about the universe. Not confined to spacetime, non-material (as the (for lack of a better word) "creator" of matter), etc. Since you can't strip a word like 'spaghetti' of its definition (a *material* substance), then a material being cannot be what brought about matter itself. Are Dawkins' talking points all you have?
gmn545 2 days ago
@gmn545 What does it's name have to do with anything? God is a man made word just like Spaghetti... It created itself, it can be whatever it wants to be made of.
FSM doesn't fail as an explanation, it is the creator of the universe. You fail at this logic thing.
MrDougiemo 2 days ago
@MrDougiemo "it created itself" A non-existent thing is "no-thing" and cannot become existent by "itself". Fail. "the universe exists outside of time and space" The universe IS space/time. How can it be outside itself? Are you serious?!?
gmn545 2 days ago
@gmn545 :) It's funny when you back people like yourself into corners and all they can do is make up stuff. Why are you allowed to say that God exists outside of time and space with no evidence that there is anything outside of time and space. I guess that's what it all boils down to, people like you can make stuff up all you want. Trying desperately to make what they believe in work in reality, but at the end of the day, you ARE just making stuff up.
MrDougiemo 2 days ago
@MrDougiemo It's funny when people like yourself appeal to psychological projection in the face of failed parroting of talking points :) "Allowed to say that God exists outside of time and space"? When did I say that? Quote me. lol People like you can calim to be "thinking for yourself" when in actuality you aren't: you're parroting commonly used (and rather weak) arguments from the New Atheist camp. At the end of the day, you ARE just settling for incredulity and groupthinking.
gmn545 2 days ago
@gmn545 If it doesn't exist outside of time and space then what created time and space?

MrDougiemo 2 days ago
@MrDougiemo "when you DO believe that" Huh? Dude, I'm agnostic, i.e. suspend judgment. This is for the sake of argument, and I'm astonished by your staggering ignorance regarding the concept of 'God'. You can't get past the classical [caricatured] theist definition, and just handwaved the other definitions for them. Attacking one thing while it's not being argued for is strawmanning.
All you have are logical fallacies, talking points, and no mind of your own. What a waste of space you are.
gmn545 2 days ago

And "you're" ignorant.
gmn545 2 days ago
@HamIsDie Well... I forgive you, for all the intolerant and harsh things you just said, I do forgive it all, so we can start on a fresh.
Science cannot tell us that god didn't create the universe, Science can't even explain the universe and existence, it cannot tell where energy came from, what the beginning of time was. Where the Energy comes from keeping the Electrons circling the nucleus. This energy never fades away without getting added new energy.

God creating the universe would explain where energy came from, Otherwise their is no explanation. If their is no God Energy cannot magically pop into existence.
The big bang Cannot create Energy that wasn't there already.
" energy has always been their " Infinite time now ? go away -
mukkohaha 4 days ago
@mukkohaha "the big bang cannot create energy that wasn't there already." You say this now. But you must think... An explosion so exponential, expansion many times faster than the speed of light, can create energy. An explosion this large can create energy. Physics of today saw we need evergy to create matter and vise versa, but physics was different in the beginning, where all forces of the universe were unified.
daberko120ch 4 days ago
@daberko120ch nonsense. An explosion needs energy. Energy cannot be created and energy cannot be destroyed.
This explosion needed to be fueled with exactly the same amount of energy their is today in the entire universe.
mukkohaha 4 days ago
@mukkohaha I see you only know the basics, quantum mechanics says nothing (the beginning of the universe) is unstable. Because of this unstable nothingness a bubblebegin to form and then rapidly expands FASTER THEN THE SPEED OF LIGHT, each bubble is a separate universe creating another part of the multiverse. We know that the universe can expand faster than the speed of light because of red shift. We can only see 13.7 billion light years away yet galaxies are expanding faster away from the earth
daberko120ch 3 days ago
@mukkohaha You cite Einstein when it suits you, but obviously haven't really read any of his works. Matter cannot be created or destroyed, but it can be changed into energy.
Your electron question. Let's approach it. Earth orbits the sun in a gravitational freefall. However, the earth has a natural speed (KE) high enough that the pull never tugs it straight down, much as a ball thrown forward will arc. Energy is not required to maintain motion; merely to change it.
YoshiRancher 3 days ago
@daberko120ch Many times faster then the speed of light ? Nothing can be faster then the speed of light according to Einstein, Just getting something to be a small Fraction faster then the speed of light would require more energy then their is in the entire universe right now.
Where do the Energy come from that keeps the electron circling around the nucleus ?
It never has to be added energy, it just keeps going forever ? how ;) ?

You mean to tell me that you, as an Atheist, don't believe in the all powerful Big Bang Theory? The one that created the world? Such blasphemy!
vikingWindmill 1 week ago
@vikingWindmill Belief isn't what constitutes Religion. Look up the definition of religion some time?
The Big Bang is a theory backed up by scientific studies by the worlds brightest minds of how the universe as we know it came to be. It is by no means 100% accurate and is not a great explanation of what came before it but at least science doesn't pretend know everything, unlike religion.
MrDougiemo 1 week ago
@vikingWindmill Where does the definition for Atheism say that Atheists are people that believe in the Big Bang Theory? You're making up stuff again, just like religion.

"Atheism is the religion of bigotry and intolerance."
Understand it however you want. Just throwing it out there.
vikingWindmill 6 days ago
@vikingWindmill so I take it that you also believe in Neptune, Venus, Mars, Mercury, and Zeus? And all of the other Gods you're not supposed to acknowledge. Because if you don't then you're not only an Atheist yourself, you're a hypocrite too.
JamesKravenwolf 6 days ago
@vikingWindmill Haha Atheism isn't a religion idiot, quit making things up. You're most likely thinking of Christianity or Catholicism since their god burns you in Hell for eternity for not obeying his every command and having faith. Your argument has just lost all credibility because you said Atheism was a religion, it shows you have no understanding of the subject you're talking about.

@vikingWindmill Do I need to cite the various parts of the Bible where it not only speaks of those things but also of God ordering mass murders of entire populations, condoning slavery, and ordering parents to stone and kill their kids? Oh, looky here, by some coincidence all those quotes are from the Old Testament, something that was DENIED and NULLIFIED with the coming of Christ. We aren't talking about Judaism here, we're talking about CHRISTIANITY, and I may have not been specific, but Orthodox Christianity. You can look it up. It won't hurt your peanut brain if you read a little.
vikingWindmill 4 days ago
@vikingWindmill I don't know if you have notice or not but the same "God" that wrote the new testament wrote the old testament. Regardless of what it says in the new testament those events still happened if you believe in the Bible. Take murderers for example; if they kill a person and are sentenced to death but say they are changing their ways, it doesn't matter, they still committed the crime. If people are less cruel than your god then what does that say about him? He is loving? haha
fuckyeah009 4 days ago
@fuckyeah009

Blind faith is foolish..Sheep
fuckyeah009 3 days ago
@fuckyeah009
Yes, that's right. Because believing that a sphere of energy suddenly exploded for no reason and created everything isn't blind at all. Feels like dejavu describing it like that. Believe me, lots of the people I call friends are atheists, but God help you, people like you are just walking bastions of intolerance and blind self-confidence.
vikingWindmill 3 days ago
@vikingWindmill Haha riddle me this. When did I ever say in our entire conversation that I am a firm believer in the Big Bang Theory?! There is a reason it is called a theory and that is because it has not been proven to be real. See the difference between Science and religion yet? In Science you don't say something is real just because it has the possibility to be real which you obviously don't understand. With that being said the Big Bang does have more evidence pointing towards it than God.
fuckyeah009 3 days ago 9
@fuckyeah009
You see, I try to defend both religious and atheists, but thene you come in...
vikingWindmill 2 days ago
@fuckyeah009 You clearly misunderstand what a scientific theory is. Its not the same as a layman saying they have a theory on something which just means they have an idea. A scientific theory is to suit fact and evidence to explain why they are in such a way. The Big Bang theory is based on multitude of evidence and is considered fact in the scientific community. If you have no understanding of any of the things you are "against" that is just you touting your own ignorance around.
TheReelNeel 2 days ago
@TheReelNeel False, do yourself a favor and take a college Chem class or at least do a nice Google search. The statement, "He is a terrible person" is technically a theory but it is not fact. Theories are a way of showing how you think something works based on logic, observation and reason; they have a likelihood of being true but it doesn't mean they are. That is why theories can always be disproved but never fully proven. You almost had it, but you're confusing it with Scientific Law.
fuckyeah009 2 days ago
@fuckyeah009 Scientific theory explains and predicts phenomena. lets see how creationism or God stacks up against it? what is out there that can prove the big bang theory is incorrect? yeah it has issues and faults(some of which have been resolved) and in time there might be a better more correct theory but for now it's correct.
TheReelNeel 2 days ago
@TheReelNeel I think you're arguing with the wrong person. If you saw my comment at the top of the page then you would realize that I have already said that the Big Bang Theory has more evidence supporting it than God does. I don't believe in God and never will until I see evidence of one.
fuckyeah009 2 days ago
@fuckyeah009 Forgive me I have made a mistake. I am sorry for directing the arguement towards you.

@TheReelNeel It's no big deal I've done it before too.
fuckyeah009 1 day ago
@fuckyeah009 "...reason it is called a theory and that is because it has not been proven..."
The scientific definition of "theory" and the colloquial, common usage of theory are often used interchangeably, when they ought not to be, i.e., "Theory of Gravity, "Atomic Theory," "Heliocentric Theory," "Theory of Plate Tectonics," et cetera. Gravity, the physics of chemistry/atoms, the sun being the center of our solar system, and earth's crust being comprised of plates are rather well established.
themediocrenontheist 5 hours ago
@fuckyeah009 By no means is it guaranteed to be 100% comprehensive, but several theories are probably airtight by now (it has been stated that if the sun rose from the west just once, there goes the Heliocentric Theory). Obviously, we can't just assert which ones those are, because if we knew what was imperfect about any of them, we'd go about changing them. Still, as you mentioned, better explanations are to be found via this method than faith in any doctrine.
themediocrenontheist 5 hours ago
@themediocrenontheist I completely agree with you on that

@vikingWindmill YOU FUCKING STUPID IGNORANT UNEDUCATED AND ARROGANT UNINFORMED BRAINWASHED ZOMBIE CHRISTIAN IMBECILE, ATHEISM is NOT a RELIGION. Cheers : )
bhbrklyn 5 days ago
@MrDougiemo By the dictionary definition, atheism is not a religion.
Atheism: "The belief that whatever created the universe, was unintelligent." If someone believes that statement, then they are on the verge of creating their own religion. That is a belief about the creator of the universe, and there is no evidence for that belief.
Atheist are religious in that they claim to know something about the creator of the universe (namely, that it was unintelligent and not Jesus).
zozefup 6 days ago
@zozefup Wow, you have some warped logic there, buddy. Then again, you're not biased at all are you?
MrDougiemo 6 days ago
@zozefup That has to be the single most daft thing I've ever read. Atheism is to religion what black is to colour. A world view free of belief. As an atheist I don't BELIEVE that there is no creator - I have as little desire to believe in a god as I have need to believe that there is a creator.
Religion is outdated, and due to it's cut-in-stone nature, it will remain outdated. The more we know about the universe, the less room there is for god.
Norralin 6 days ago
@Norralin Atheist believe that God does not exist (thus, God did not create the universe). If a person does not know if God exists or not, then they are agnostic. Atheism makes assertions.
However, an atheist cannot admit that they "believe God doesn't exist" even though it's a true statement. They don't admit it because they want to avoid a burden of proof. This is like a Theist saying they don't believe in anything, they just have a lack of belief in anything other than God.
zozefup 6 days ago
@zozefup Also if the dictionary states that atheism is no religion, then that is what that word means. I understand religious people need to twist words to fit their own views, but come on. Words have meanings, and if your definition of words are diametrically opposed to the common conception you'll have a hard time having normal conversations with anyone.
Atheism is no religion, theory does not mean speculation, the earth is older than 6000 years, BBT has nothing to do with evolution
Norralin 6 days ago
@zozefup are u fucking retarded?? The definition of atheism is not "whatever created the universe was unintelligent" HAHAHHAHAHA are u retarded kid? Man are you immune to knowledge??
Atheism: "Atheism is, in a broad sense, the rejection of belief in the existence of deities.[1] "
mantheman100 6 days ago
@mantheman100 Theism is, in a broad sense, the rejection of belief in the inexistence of deities.
Do you see a problem with this definition? It is the same thing you are doing to atheism. Atheism is more than a lack of belief. It is the assertion that God does not exist.
Also, no atheist believes that something intelligent created the universe. Or do you want to admit something intelligent may have caused the universe? Slippery slope if you admit that as an atheist.
zozefup 6 days ago
@zozefup man... I am going to tell you this ONE TIME. If "ID" was even remotely true, the one who designed this universe is the biggest fucking RETARD in the universe. Sorry but I reject that you even call it Intelligent design, If god was real It would be Stupid design.
Our universe is complex and orderly
zozefup 5 days ago
um ok i did not understand any of that next time could you speak English please
xXsr3Xx 5 days ago
@zozefup oh please,, don't bring up nuclear atom physics... Let me bring up an argument that destroys yours.. but first I have feel like I need to declare that I never said the universe is stupidly created, I said that IF someone created it, he/she is a retard, there is a difference.
Anyways.
If the bible and almost every holy scripture says that the universe is 6000-10000 years old, that means that all of the hundreds dating methods would be wrong, and which are VERY ACCURATE. and no Dinosaurs.
mantheman100 4 days ago
@mantheman100 I do not believe the earth is 6000-10,000 years old. Neither did Augustine in the year 430 AD. Many people of the early church thought there was no reason, based on the bible, to believe that the earth was that age.
zozefup 4 days ago
@MrDougiemo You are wrong, Atheism can be associate with a religion definition since it has a set of beliefs without incontestable proofs.
Saying that there is no god for sure is not that different from saying there is a god for sure.
degoban 6 days ago
@degoban Well... Belief backed up by scientific discovery and thinking.
But aside from that, as I said before, belief doesn't constitute religion. Learn the difference please.
In any case, religious people believe in something because they are told that is the truth, rather than starting with an open mind and discovering things based on probability, evidence etc.
(cont.)
MrDougiemo 6 days ago
@degoban But what you are saying is essentially that if you can't disprove that God doesn't exist then you have a belief that it doesn't exist and that is like religion.
Well, sir. I also believe that Santa Claus and Unicorns dont exist. I can't prove it though (they could be invisible and exist outside of time and space).
Does that mean that the non-belief in those constitutes a religion? In that case I'm religious about an infinite number of things that don't exist.
MrDougiemo 6 days ago
@MrDougiemo You can trace the genesis of Santa or Unicorns in the human history, so you know that they are a fantasy creation. Unicorn is a myth built on rhinoceros, and this is an example how something real can be distorted to become fictional, maybe as religion did with god.
Anyway, if you think that god is a link in the cause-effect process that generated the universe, or just an entity, he's not related with human history or fantasy and he could be real as it couldn't be.
