Mustang GT's top out at about 140mph & accelerate from 0-60mph in about 4.5 seconds.. thats not nearly fast enough to outrun the cops. a Ferrari Enzo? yah. a Mustang? not even close. cop cars top out at around 160pmh, so a Mustang GT, Camaro SS, or Challenger SRT8 would have no chance either. the guy would need a Viper SRT10, Ford GT, or Corvette ZR1 [or a 750cc+ motorcycle] to have any chance at all.

Top speed on a Crown Victoria cruiser is limited to 120mph to prevent driveline failure. All the upgraded suspension components and frame reinforcement adds considerable weight.. A 2011 V6 Mustang could embarass a cop car one-on-one. But you are not just trying to outrun one cop car.

Chargers will get there quicker, but not go any faster. a Mustang GT wouldn't be able to outrun any cop - a Ford GT? for sure - if the driver could control the car at 160mph+.. [hard to do on highways designed for 80mph..]
