  • pilots are wearing "g" suits...

  • @dathorold

Quoting wikipedia: "Blue Angels do not wear G-suits, because the air bladders inside them would repeatedly deflate and inflate, interfering with the control stick between the pilot's legs. Instead, Blue Angel pilots tense their stomach muscles and legs to prevent blood from rushing from their heads and rendering them unconscious"

  • i have so much respect for the people who design these and fly them

  • how the fuck is this pilot talking while doing this shit

  • God, that take off is fucking awesome!

  • can anyone tell me how the pilot talks normal when they are pulling Gs? and the guy that is along for the ride is just struggling to keep blood to his brain,,,

  • reaaddyyy hit it! :)

  • This video is so cool. One of my fave so far.

  • It's people like this guy that should get to fly with the Blue Angels, not retarded tv people.

  • @st3reo23 yeah your fucking right !!!

  • Mark: Very well done editing and as a pilot myself and videographer, you did an excellent video. How does one go about requesting to fly with the Angels?

  • Mark: Very well done editing and as a pilot myself and videographer, you did an excellent video. How does one go about requesting to fly with the Angels?

  • what song is he playing at like 2:15

  • THAT is Spectacular ... Oooh boy... How.. How do I get a ride ? =+D

  • Well done Sir! From a Canadian ALS Paramedic who flew in a Russian Sukhoi Su 30 Flanker back in 2005. There's nothing else quite like it.

    Cheers!

    Frank

  • best part= 8:03 noooo, sir

  • mamma mia che tristezza ma chi e sto babbo????non e possibile andare cosi piano pure mia nonna regge di piu ma vai a cagare

  • how does the pilot have no affect of the g's? is he wearing a G suit. can u explain a G suit to me?

  • Riding with the blues has been a dream of mine since I was a child. Although it probably will never happen, I'm glad to see that this flight nurse got his opportunity of a lifetime. I am thankful for our first line responders, such as this gentleman. When you're involved in a near fatality accident, thank God that there are people like this flight nurse that will do their best to help us. May God also bless our military and the great USA!

  • i have that plane!!, then i turn off flight simulator x and go to sleep lol

  • Luckiest dude alive.

  • why is Dvorak's 7th playing in the background?

  • can't wait till i grow up, i am going to join the air force!!

  • @mboy3515 blue angels are from the navy

  • @hermitzrock yeah i kow i dont want to be a blue angels

  • he's the only guy i've seen (so far) on youtube that doesn't make huge grunting noises and ridiculous faces. wtg!!!!

  • ready...HIT IT!

  • I love how the pilot makes it sound easy with a calm voice.

  • imagine how excited he was trying to go to sleep the night before

  • it would be cool if they could fly in a F-16 thats the bestest airplane in the army, it can fly over a hundred miles an hour and I heard it can shoot a missile and blow up a building from miles away.

  • @cantroos

i heard that you're an idiot.

  • @ZzRvXzZ takes one to know one

  • @cantroos haha. the best jet in the military is the F-22. and the f-18 beats the f-16 any day. and they are making a f-35 as well

  • I'm back with ya, lol.

  • the pilot just talks threw the g turns, thats awesome!

  • @RyanRox1011 Its called a "Hick" Its when you flex your legs and breath to keep the blood in your head to not black out while dealing with high G's.

  • Ok how can the pilot casually talk while doing all those stunts??? I know those guys are heavily trained but it never ceases to amaze me, especially considering the passenger has to do his very best just to be able to breathe :O

  • cool vid,man id have choked on my own sick :) fair play, how do u go about in doing this and whats the cost if i might ask?anywhere near ireland?

  • @paulallister haha. blue angels are US military. ur ganna have to look for military around u

  • The pilot is like a commentator. No need for him to breath a sec. He talks as if he is just walking on the park. :D

  • all i can say is, you lucky bastard!

  • he deserved it

  • Ryanrox1011 that is sometimes referred to as AGSM (anti G straining maneuver) this helps fight against g-loc ( G induced loss off consciousness ).

  • @AircraftDriver Aren't short guys supposed to handle them better? because I'm short.

  • So I was wondering. What's with the gasping? (The breathing and pushing out hard) why do you need to do that?

  • Wow, what a cool cat!! Great job handling the G's! Are you a short fella? Cuz short fellas tend to handle the G's better.

  • How do you get to rid with The Blue Angels?

  • Can anyone please tell me the name of the song at the start?

  • @jb844 Creed - My Sacrifice It is on the Weathered CD

  • How annoying that the pilot can give a relaxed sounding commentary through all those hi-G maneuvers. He would be straining as well but it sure didnt sound like it...thanks for the vid :-)

  • Is just indescribable. EPIC.

  • Good job holding 7.4G! Excellent vid!

  • THIS GUY IS NOT YOUR AVERAGE PASSENGER ,,, YOU CAN SEE THAT HE IS COMFORTABLE IN THE AIR ,, IN FACT , IF YOU DIDN'T KNOW HE JUST WENT ALONG FOR THE RIDE ,, HE MIGHT APPEAR TO BE THE PILOT ,,,GOOD JOB

  • they letu fy wi tthem

  • Wow thats Cool. Man i would LOVE to fly with them.

  • AWESOME!!!

  • I hope to fly in an RAAF F/A-18 one day, im taking the required subjects at school and gonna give it 110% its been my dream since i was six :)

  • Wow I envy you for this!! What a privilege to fly the F/A-18!

  • why the mcdonnell douglas/boeing argment......look at the vid and enjoy..........READY...HIT IT!

  • ready... hit it!

  • beautiful..natural high..

  • At 07:00....this guy is a trooper. He hung in there like a pro. He's ready for his try-out with the Blues. GEEEEEEZ!

  • It's seems odd that at :46 the markings said "Boeing F-18" since this aircraft is actually a McDonnell Douglas F/A-18 Hornet. I highly doubt that it was manufactured by Boeing since the merger hadn't taken place at that time. I don't like corporations re-writing history. It's not accurate and it's not right.

  • @JetMechMA Very true! Have you thought that this particular aircraft was aquired when indeed Boeing had taken over the rights to the design of the aircraft? Just a thought.

  • @chrisg21225: I don't think Boeing owned it when this aircraft was built. I think plastering the new name on everything dishonors all the engineers and workers and everybody else who built the thing. F-18 was a McDonnell Douglas effort. Or better yet, it was really a Northrop design. Whatever happened to Northrop? There's a name with some history. My father in law retired from General Dynamics (F-16) after 40 years. His plaque said, "Thanks for 40 years at Lockheed."

  • @JetMechMA I agree just the cost of doing business i reckon. Northrop is still pretty big in MD. They are located right outside Linthicum,MD. Boeing got a big plant in Essex,Md they build the thrust reversers for the 747 there.

  • man its awesome to fly with the blue angels what a experience and honor they are the best acrobat team in the world the f-18 its a wonderfull fighter

  • I like how the pilot is just carrying on a conversation while pulling off these maneuvers. Props to both guys for what they do!

  • thats the kinda people who should be taken up in a blue angel. someone who works hard. not silly celebs

  • 7.4, bloody hell

  • Reeeaddyy...hit it!

  • Have a lot of respect for our military and military pilots but as a medically retired Deputy Sheriff I also have a lot of respect for any Care Flight Pilots and their flight crew. The things you do for people amaze me. I have seen a lot of lifes saved after horrific accidents. Thanks for what you do.

  • Ride of a lifetime!

  • You are one lucky guy

  • that guys got balls!my goal is to be in the air force. cant wait

  • 7:31 the airplane said bingo , do you know what that means

  • @seanybigz2514 Bingo means the fuel is low, but enough left to return to base safely.

  • @seanybigz2514 Bingo refers to the fuel level. Minimum amount required for return to base. I suspect that during the sustained rolls the computers sensed a lower fuel level.

  • @markandrejahn The pilot actually sets the "Bingo" fuel level in preflight. He normally gives himself an additional 10-12 minutes just incase.

  • @seanybigz2514 The computer constantly creates random number and letter combinations, then displays them on a 24x24 grid. When it gets a complete vertical, horizontal, or diagonal row it notifies the pilot.

  • its crazy how the pilot is still talkin even at those g's man the air force is so awsome

  • @mechanic7866 Blue Angels represent the US NAVY

  • @mechanic7866 silly rabbit. the blue angels rep. US Navy

  • he must've toasted a car @ 2:01

  • @mistervova11 its not up to him. unless theres a bring ur kid to work day in the military! LOL

  • Great video! I have to agree, pilot is just talking like he's on his couch at home. That's incredible endurance.

  • Imagine this, the pilot talks like just normal, while your face melts due to high g's,you know this guys are my hero, and you are one lucky guy!i wish i could get to the experience you got.thanks for sharing this vid.

  • Great video...ride of a lifetime right there!

  • Awesome video MARK!

  • Wow! 7+ G's and the pilot is still talking just like it's nothing!

  • Sweet video! Looks like an amazing time to be able to ride in a Blue Angel!

  • GREAT video hope you realy enioyed the flight I'd give any thing for a flight like that ,thank you tor helping our children when they need it the most..

  • great video

  • What an awesome video. Nice mix up. Ending was just fantastic. You are a lucky guy. I have attended many airshows but never have I gotten to ride the Hornet.

  • thats awesome, i love how you can train yourself to no pass out and stay focused in high g's

  • If you dont flex or breath, well your dead. Jk ur not dead if ur not the pilot =D you just black out lol, the pressure pulls ur body like takes ur blood into space XD making you unable to focus alot or black out. Lack of blood in brain. Breathing gives u oxygen, which is hard to catch sense the pressure is pulling you =D JK i just guessed all this FOOL

  • Good for you and the job you do.

    Go Gators

  • that is great, I really believe that this was the ride of your liftime.... I had the chance to ride in a L-39 and it was fantastic!!!!!! Congrats!

  • My dreams are to be a pilot in the NAVY or the Air Force to serve the sweet Red White an Blue :)

  • during that first role, that guy looks kinda like he in lala land.

  • real pilots totally ignore the g's it fing amazing

  • I'm always amazed when they are pulling G's ... the people are trying to breathe and not pass out and the pilots just talk like nothing.. its like nothing to them. Its awesome

  • Flight nurse kept up just fine. Pilot threw alot at him. Guy should have been a pilot.

  • people on that highway must of been a little spooked on that take off lol. Awesome.

  • Not much turbulence??

  • I love these 'ride-along' Blue Angels vids. This guy did really well! Great vid, thanks for posting it.

  • What an awesome video. Thanks so much for posting.

  • does blue angels sale rides anyone knows???

  • No. You have to have to apply or have hook ups.

  • That's a VIP! Glad to see he got a deserving ride. Blue Angels rock!

  • reaaaadddyyy....HIT IT! love it when he says that lol

  • I know! It sucks that he's dead.

  • LOL.. 8:06 lala land.

    Did better than most.

  • 6:26 looks like they are going nowhere

  • I hope to get that privilege some day. I'd rather be the pilot of one but that might be a stretch. haha

  • riding with the blue angels has been and always will be a dream of mine, unfortunetly thats all it will be. But to see someone so deserving catch a ride with them makes me feel alot better.

  • @blueflame53 I know! it makes me mad when someone who rides in it hasn't dreamed about it as much as people like us and dont even appreciate it. It is good to see someone deserving fly it, nice video

  • it's great to see someone that has given so much be able to get a ride of a lifetime like that, and the ending was just so great!!!

  • Whats the song?

  • My Sacrifice by Creed

  • you have to be famous or do something amazing to get a ride with them. srry guys if u were trying to get a ride with them.

  • @jimkendzior12 am terrorist will they let me? :D

  • Tears 3x...I'm a big softie. This one really hit me in the chest.

  • Great fliht video, and nice surviving off all those G-s :) but best part is your totaly confused face when you went away for a moment :)

  • as much as this man gives to so many , its the least this country can give back to him for always being there all of the people of Alabama, to Lt . Walborn , thanks for getting that man "into the clouds" all America thanks you for the job you do and your fellow pilots...GOD bless and Semper Fi

  • SUH-WEEEEEEEEET! ! ! ! ! ! ! !

  • amazing how the pilots are so relaxed through those high G maneuvers.

  • Oh wow. I am so envious of you.

Lt. Walborn is also my favorite Blue Angel if I had to chose, so even more of a reason although all of them are absolutely astounding and complete gentlemen outside of flight. I had the opportunity to meet them after the airshow last Sunday and it's made me look at the Navy and USMC in a whole new light, and I'm looking at trying to get into the Navy now.:)

  • Yeah love the video. I'm jealouse. i loved the blues since i was 3 and i'm 21 and never got a ride.

  • Amazing video.

  • Nice Video. I dont know why people get on here and just want to argue.

I envy you getting to ride in that plane. i would always go to airshows and hang around airports and just watch planes land and take off for hours. after getting my pilots license about 3 years ago i have a totally different respect for what those guys do. I would give anything to get the experience you got. thats awesome!

  • Thank you. The F18 is the smoothest aircraft I have ever flow in. Check the airshow schedule for an area near you. The airshow cordinators are the ones who submit the list of candidates to the Navy. There is always a chance. Alot of PR work went into making it happen, but what a reward.

  • u stupid people leave comments like u are pilots. u all idiots just copy and paste from several websites including wikipedia.

  • creed...ugh

  • not just a sweet intro. AWESOME video!

  • sweet intro!

  • 1 more thing: with the fly-by-wire, you request the A/C what you wanna do, and the computers, taking measures of the AOA, the weapons load, the wind, the speed, the altitude, the density of the air...., will let the A/C do it or not. So you dont actuate anything, actually with the stick you are asking the plane if it can do what you want to do.

  • dude, i know military aviation. i only grew up with it for half my life. i have studied both the hornet and the falcon. the blue angles dont wear the G suit due to the center mounted flight stick. the G suit expands to much when the team is pulling off the moves in the aerobatic box and would render the flight stick unmovable. basically, its to dangerous. its not a choice, its just to risky. they fly no more then 18 inches apart. one wrong move and its a disaster.

  • I can appreciate 18" separation - in calm air

what I don't understand is windy conditions - seems like the lead aircraft would be affected a split second before the slot guys and it would cause contact.

....maybe their airspeed is fast enough that for all practical purposes , any turbulance would affect the formation almost instantly - leaving separation in place....

    Ace Larry

  • The F/A-18 is vary stable in any weather condition. The pilot does not directly feel the pressure of the wind on the flight stick and rudder. The pilot is asking the plane to do a move and the avionics do the move in a safe way. They fly so close to each other that turbulence is not an issue. The diamond and delta formations fly roughly 350 Kts-400 Kts. I am not exactly sure what the mph is on that, but that's how hast they are traveling through the air. The solo pilots are the real speed deamon

  • and now than im thinking, i will put a smoke button in my HOTAS to hide from the bandits lololol, just kidding! And i dont intend to attack you, only to share my profesional expierence if you want. Thank you!

  • We use the HOTAS to switch the different radar modes, countermeasures, weapons, HUD config, moving trhough menus, selecting targets, etc, when you are chasing other A/C. Obviusly you wont need all that in an airshow. And why in a propeller like the T-6 (the most simple plane and center stick mounted) has oxygen and G-suit?????? Is it cause its better than an F-18? They dont wear any life support cause they dont want to. I appreciate it, couse its tough 7g without anything.

  • AWESOME!!!! Cheers from AR!

  • Wonderful video.

  • loved the video. blue angles and Thunderbirds are our best as far as us goes. the pilots are all top notch. i give mad respect to these men and women who fly these planes! its only a dream come true if your profession is either the media or something to do with kids. if not, your out of luck. i have always wanted to fly like that. but was told that i couldn't at a young age. since i wear glasses and don't do so hot in the math department.

  • The BA are better than the TB, simply because the TB wear G Suits, the BA are physically fit enough to not wear them, and since they fly with a center stick have to devote more time to training since they do it w/o any G suit assistance.

  • actually the blue angles dont wear G suits cause the flight stick is center mounted. also in the blue angles f/a-18c hornet, the flight stick has a spring that adds 35 lbs of force so the stick is harder to move. the thunderbirds on the other hand have whats called the HOTAS flight control system. the flight stick is mounted on the right side of the cockpit and bearly moves at all. the blue angles can only do a 7.5 G pull while the thunder birds can do 9.3. i like the thunder birds better.

  • Hi, it doesnt matter where the stick is to wear a g-suit, the f-18 also has HOTAS, as the f-16, and the g limits are a little higher, you can make a sustained 8g turn with your f-18. Now im flying the t-38c and next year will fly an f-18. Thank you!

  • Reply back to me when you are flying the c version of the hornet. the blue angles dont wear the G suit due to the center mounted flight stick. i looked it up on the blue angles website. i also know they don not have the HOTAS. there is not a single button on that 2 throttle. the F-16 has HOTAS. every mandatory witch/button the pilot needs is on the throttle or the flight stick. but both aircraft have the Fly-By-Wire flight controls. basically the pilot tells a computer what to do.

  • At least, you'll need trim, NWS (Nose Wheel Steering), UHF/VHF Comm Switch(es), Speedbrake, and im pretty sure they wont have a Blue Angels Stick, and the stick and throttle is quite the same although you have blank buttons. Those switches i have listed are the minimum. The HOTAS has no sense in a non-combat airplane.

  • great video mark you deserve it for what you do for children!! that had to be the best when you took off and then went straight up.

  • I wanna do this so so so bad!! And i hate flying!

    Great vid!!

    Cheers from AR!

  • why would any one hate flying?

  • the problem is not flying is falling!!

  • What an opportunity of a lifetime ! Had to be an amazing experience. Flight is one thing, but the blue angels are something else ! You look like a little kid in a candy store that whole ride, especially on the takeoff ! Bet it was fun ! Fly safe my friend.

  • Almost 2 months after the flight and I still grin when I think about it.

  • @markandrejahn Hey Mate... can you tell me where to Buy a Flight with the BA´s and what does it cost? Thx ;)

  • @kaesich0070 he didn't pay for it. haha

  • what happens if you dont flex or breathe hard

  • poo goes the other way and comes out your mouth.

  • r u serious,,thats crazy

  • You'll go into g lock. Blackout basically.

  • Glad to see somone so deserving get a gift like that. Great Job!!!!!!!

  • awsome video!!!!!...thankyou so much for this...I have watched it a number of times now and I will watch it many more...such a feel good video!!!!!...wish it was me in that jet....
