  • first time Plausible this time CONFIRMED. most airport runways are near roads if your in a car stop at the light and don't go until the plane is launched.

  • Car + GE90-115B1 = ???

The Mythbusters should totally try that out.

  • how about a tank?

  • SCROLL TO 3:28 FOR RESULT.

  • School bus with route taking it behind a 747 at full thrust.

What is this, the school from hell?

  • a lot of kids are going to be late for school 6:40

  • I thought it was against aviation authority to put full throttle with parking brakes on

  • @MrPranoy no its not, they do this sometimes to test the planes engines because even at take off planes never go with 100% thrust sometimes around 75% to 80% to save fuel, but i doubt this plane was even at full thrust maybe 80% jet fuel cost alot and it all goes to mythbusters's bill

  • @houshidar558 oh thanx

  • Tight t-shirt with Venom over Kari's fun bags. Perfect package.

  • That's basically what happened to a truck for real earlier this week in one of those tornadoes!

  • lolz.... if i were on that bus... id be whooping with joy!!!!... and then screaming in pain. X_x

  • This was done in my town and I was there. It was awesome! It took hours for them to set up though lol.

  • They wasted around $10,000 for this stupid experiment, which could have comfortably fed 1000 families in africa for a month!!!! How selfish Mankind really is?

  • @reconforsales fuck off

  • @reconforsales i like the way you think, why dont you get alot of jobs save some money dont spend it on anything not even housing, you wil have to live wth a friend or family member, when you have alooottt of money donate it alllll to africa, to see how much it will benefit you.

  • Take a blow son, take a blow.

  • DO A BARREL ROLL!

  • America invented planes. Damn America, you scary!

  • how about a private jet

  • wow that is fucking power

  • @houshidar558 But it's no longer the biggest brute on the commercial runway. The Airbus A380 is bigger and its engines have 80,000 lbs of thrust rather than 52,000.

  • @MartinJWillett no one cares about airbus everyone knows boeing will always be beter in my opinion check out the boeing 787 its really nice and your right about the engines but u cant say 52,000 pounds of thrust is weak.

  • @houshidar558 Did you understand a single thing? "Everyone" does not give a flying fuck for your silly chauvinistic opinion.

I have been seeing 747s for as long as I can remember looking at aircraft but the A380 impresses. It is bigger in every dimension and it will carry more passengers higher and further.

  • @MartinJWillett if no one gives a fuck about my opinion then why the hell are you fucking replying? i dont give a shit about your airbus opinions either so?

  • @MartinJWillett Uh huh... Did you think about Speed, Fuel consumption and Pollution? :3 People say that the A380 is safer than the 747. Clearly they did not thinl about the 747 being WAY older than the A380. In my and houshidar558 and other people's opinion we think that 747 is better.

  • @DIMATIF What part of it is bigger in every dimension and it will carry more passengers higher and further are you having a problem with understanding? When you are asked to boggle at something big and powerful size and power matter. Nobody is asking you to buy one.

If you want to use an aircraft to play games blowing cars over a 747 should not be your first choice. Other planes have two significantly bigger engines and the A380 has four which are all bigger.

  • @MartinJWillett The 747 has 4 engines too... And they 're Rolls Royce Trent 1000s

  • @DIMATIF They have four engines, but they're not Trents. Stop grasping at phantom straws.

  • @MartinJWillett Some of them are...

  • @DIMATIF Not according to the Wikipedia page for either the 747 or the Trent. I think there is ONE 747 200 at a Rolls Royce test facility with one Trent 1000 and three other (RB211?) engines. Again, stop grasping at straws, it's embarrassing to have to do this, please stop.

  • @MartinJWillett Atleast I was kind of right :3

  • @MartinJWillett And it's for the upcoming 747-8s... I think o_o

  • @DIMATIF No. Still not right. 4 x GEnx-2B67 giving 66,500 lbs thrust each. Please just give it up.

  • @MartinJWillett Yeah but it's bigger so it'll need more thrust to generate more lift.

  • I skipped school to watch this and it was worth seeing one of my schools old buses get trashed! lol I loved it.

  • i was born less than a mile from that. :D

  • at 0:49 , its an a380!

  • they shoulda put a person behind the plane

  • This is what happens when Chuck Norris takes a breathe.

  • @Rayden440 breath.

  • Wow.

  • 5:02 Lufthansa 747-my favorite airline and favorite jet

  • Miss Frizzle! No!

  • They should of used a 777, with engines just about twice as powerful as these ones.

  • @jwhyte67 That's a 747-i would think that the second biggest passenger jet in the world would be more powerful than a 777.

  • @DNETV A 777 is nearly as big as a 747 but with 2 engines instead of 4. While 747 engines produce about 60,000lbs of thrust 777 engines produces 90-115,000lbs of thrust. Yes, 777 engines are far more powerful than even A380 engines.

  • @jwhyte67 oh ok sorry i mixed it up

  • why didn't the plane move when the jet was running?

  • @Jaydub9191 they had the parking brake down on othe plane..all aircraft are designed to run at full power and still remain still with the parking brake set

  • Try A380 engine :O

  • That's what u get for messin with rolls royce

  • man, we should have these at the border!

  • Of course Tory.

  • However, Airport buses on the tarmac are safe because airplanes dont go to full power on Tarmacs or taxi ways. Its that simple

  • @tealmarlin Thats why they said *if a bus made a wrong turn*

  • wt episode called

  • That was one "relible" cessna

  • i think the small plane had no engine in it (it would properly not matter much tho)

  • "Adam, I'm your father" XD

  • this is SHIT!!!!!

  • It would have costed the show millions of dollars to do an experiment like that.

  • they got the best dam job on the hole planet blowing shit up

  • hahahahaha "I wonder if mike rowe is hiring"

  • this was done in my town and the bus they blew away was one of my old school buses. it was so fun to watch it!

  • Hi John, skip to 5:50

  • talk about a blow job

  • haha good one

  • @tk4life9 LMAO!!

  • people just do not realize the air coming out of jet engines Is so great that the rate the hot air expands passes the speed of sound!

  • it sure sounds reasonable, but wouldnt you hear a sonic boom if that were true?

  • You do, the loud rumble of the exaust!

but nowadays engine have what are called hush kits it surounds the hot expanding air in a blanket of outside air. making less of a rumble!

  • Air doesn´t really make a "BOOM" since for that it needs to compress Air and push through it...which Air simply can´t...

But the sound an Engine makes, is basically Air expanding.

  • Oh wait, what i told you is bullshit...

Air can be compressed by Air, how else would it work...<.<

Sorry, mixed up a little stuff...also i see that it has been said by helicopterpilot16 already.

  • well, air coming out of the engine can make noise because of variations in pressure. sonic booms work differently.

  • thats a tough little plane, i would of thought the wind would judt tear the wings off, like on the bus the hood just get torn..

  • well, you gotta remember that those wings are designed to hold the weight of the plane without being stressed much, so theyre pretty strong.

  • FUCKING HELL!!!

  • what would happen to a fire engine?

  • I agree with Jmkpns. I want to see what the GE90-115B would do at full throttle

  • This is why you don't drive (or walk) behind a jet airplane at full throttle!!!

  • Hmm.... I see what happens with this, i just wonder what would happen to a human.

  • probably get blown into fragments

  • One thing always makes me sad watching this vid--that poor squirrel lost his home and it got utterly trashed. I wonder what they did with the squirrel...

  • Let it go in the wild what else.

  • The bus was old and going to be crushed anyway. The squirrel wasn't going to keep this home for long anyway.

  • LETS TRY THIS AT HOME!!!Just kiddin

  • Don't try this at home kids!

  • Awesome. I'd like to see what would happen to that bus if you used the GE-90 on the 777-300ER.

  • Since the JT-9D can do that, then imagine what the PW4000 and CF-6 on the 400 could do.

  • Put a formula1 behind it haha

  • yea at full speed of a formula 1 lol

  • i like this narrator a ton more than the British one

  • DAMN thats cool

  • They should've tried driving an M1 Tank behind that jet

    xD

  • They should have the cessna pointed directly behind the 747's engine and see if it takes off. With all that wind flowing through the wings, it should take to the skies :)

  • well, he said pointed directly behind the 747 engine, which i take it as pointed AT the engine.

  • This isn't even a myth, they did the same thing on Top Gear :P

  • million dollar plane = million dollar repair

  • You f#cking lucky nerds xD

  • 0:48 would be cool with an A380 ^^

  • They should of used the 777s GE90s which create even more power.

  • between 3:38-3:41...........i see some very happy nerds especially the one in the middle lol :P

  • What airport has taxi's even close to jet blast???

  • maybe the jet took off low and the taxi was driving on a nearby highway?

  • St Martin !

  • Comment removed

  • P&W JT9D engines

  • awesome!!!

    nice work

  • WICKED!!! Hollywood should learn from these guys! All that bogus stuff you see in movies! Here's the real deal! Booya!!!

  • theses guys do the Hollywood special effects, lol

  • no, there really isnt anything holding up the roof of a school bus (save the new ones, the rails act like a rollcage)

  • was this one of the planes that crashed in holland or were ever it was. i can't catch a registration number. also i think another one of their planes crashed a week later.

  • BUSTER!!! The MythBuster's Mascot would work perfectly for that

  • yeh same i wana c just a person standing there to c ho w far he will go

  • i wanna see a person is standing there and how far will he go

  • stfu and go stand there ourself!

  • what a tv show Hail to the Mythbusters may they live long and provide more and more interesting "experiments"

  • epic

  • i love this show loL!

  • this is was one of the best episodes ever

  • what would happen if the vehicles were going faster? they seemed really slow

  • I wish they had tested another 747 behind that 747. I wonder what would happen there.

  • that would be so awesome wait 747 tug of war

  • What a cheesy Speed scene

  • wow this episode really scares me because about a year ago a person from the bus company that drives us came and told us that these buses could support 3 other buses on their roofs but this one can't even support itself lol

  • Quiet you damn kids, shut up! Hey! Who trough that apple? lol

  • VENOM \m/

  • That shit aint even a myth and half of the world already know whats gonna happen, they're more interested in breaking things.

  • that's true, but ir's still cool to see

  • look.. breaking an blowing shit up is fun... they just need an excuse for the TV companies...

  • its still an awesome show

  • One random Question...

HOW THE HECK DID A SQUIRREL GET IN THE BUS?!

  • indeed.

  • This was a discontinued bus.

  • I agree, the Hindenburg episode really annoyed me. They kept contantly pumping gas into the blimp while it was burning. Obviously, this was not happening in the real fire.

  • they should make tori run behind it. now that would be awesome!

  • they did this on top gear years ago lol

  • hahah sometimes you jsut know when mythbusters are getting silly coz you know its gonna happen anyways...hahah all in the name of destruction

  • WHY DONT U EDIT THE VOLUME?!

  • Ok. I'll get right on that.

  • 3:46.

    Brix will be shat.

  • Nuh-uh! 4:10-4:25 is TOTALLY the time for that!

  • You obviously don't listen to metal.

  • Whoops. Missed the t-shirt.

  • Maybe they didn´t use all four engines?!

  • they didnt lol, as u can see on 3:09 they dont need all four engines to throw the taxi loool, only 1 can do the job but they used 2 to balance the aircraft

  • Yeah.

  • Its kind of obvious that if it can push THE PLANE it would be able to push the car -_-

  • Right!

  • THAT WAS AWESOME!!!

  • I think that was one of the best Mythbusters episodes.

  • next they should try the a380 and the an 225:-P

  • There will be not so much of a difference^^

  • i wonder what happens when someone walks behind those engines at takeoff-thrust..hehe

  • "Wendy!! I can fly!!!" (Peter Pan) maybe I dunno. LOL

  • man i love mythbusters

  • i wonder if the school district that lent them the bus knew what they were doing to it.

  • A wicked follow-up to this would be two back-to-back 747's with something passing between them.

  • i like part at 5:31 :)

  • That bus's performance has me a little sketched out. We send our kids everywhere in those and that's how they perform in a roll-over? Geez

  • i want to see a person get hit by that

  • that bus gawt pwnd

  • Looks cool.. Just two things:

1: If she's on max power and still not moving an inch, is she screwing up her tire brakes to the max or am I stupid?

2: These look like old P&W JT9D's to me, and compared to the newer GE and RR, and also the newer P&W engine models, they are sorta weak... Well not that they're weak in absolute numbers, just relatively (close to 30% less power).

  • I´ve no clue how it works when you´re fully throttle a aircraft. I want to know!

Can the brakes really stand up against the full power?! Hmrf.

  • When the throttle is at full, the engines force hot air out the back with enough trust to push the plane forward at enough speed (Newton's 3rd law). The brakes are applied after landing, but the engines are at idle, the flaps are down, the spoilers are up, and it's barely above takeoff speed. Go check out Airbus brake test if you want to know if the brakes can handle it.
