If you want a truck. Those were the best selling trucks and still are. I owned a 97 f150 with a 5.4L and it had an Off-Road Package. Best truck I've owned and never gave me any problems. I just wish I had the money to get myself into a newer F150. With the way the economy is, I'm lucky to have a job and would be worried to have another truck payment.
I love Ford but I honestly cannot say American made cars are any better than others. GM's are designed by foreign automakers and mostly built in China so there is nothing American about that. I would much rather a Ford Mondeo or Falcon than an America equivalent.

If you want a truck. Those were the best selling trucks and still are. I owned a 97 f150 with a 5.4L and it had an Off-Road Package. Best truck I've owned and never gave me any problems. I just wish I had the money to get myself into a newer F150. With the way the economy is, I'm lucky to have a job and would be worried to have another truck payment.

I love Ford but I honestly cannot say American made cars are any better than others. GM's are designed by foreign automakers and mostly built in China so there is nothing American about that. I would much rather a Ford Mondeo or Falcon than an America equivalent.

Ford learned their lesson with the old 1981 f150, you know the one that had all the holes in the frame. Ford made their new trucks stiff like that to prevent breakage. Sure the new fords are heavier than dodge and gm trucks but there advertising slogan "built ford tough" does have truth, they are a fuck of alot stronger than anything on the road to date.

simple, consumer reports scored the 2009 F150 67 out of 100, Edmunds says the steering at speed is scary and so did the BBC's Jeremy Clarkson who said "how can it be this bad?". Car and Driver editor rated the truck 2 out of 10. I am brand loyal, just not stupid enough to go out and spend $35,000 without doin research.

ummm, I havent had any of these problems, Jeremy Clarkson was talking about an 02 lighting, the reason it was so bad was because it was converted to right hand drive. All the truck magazines I read generally like the 09s, Car and Driver shoulnt be testing trucks and then complaing because its to trucky for them

yeah, my gf was getting tired of my 97 F350 5spd(she cant Drive Stick), So she suprised me xmas with a box with a card saing "new truck", I went and picked it out and I love it, I got the Fx4 with a dealer installed cat back, drives strait as an arrow, plenty of power, It just depends on what you like I guess.

I just had an 09 Lariat out this morning for a test drive. It was smooth and solid at 85-90 MPH. In fact, it was so stable, my 2 buddies didn't even know we were going that fast until I mentioned it. It truly felt like we were doing about 60.
Edmunds states that "In reviews, we found the F-150's ride and handling to be superb..."
I could not find anything on the web where Jeremy Clarkson reviewed the 2009 f-150.

You're kidding right? Ford has the highest tow rating, which in part has to do with the strength of it's frame. Chevy and Dodge trucks can't keep with up with Ford in the working truck category. Almost every tow truck you see is a Ford.
