序曲Overture　火獅帶咱慶萬年

明末清初，先民們渡海來台生活。當時由於連年征戰，

生活困苦，以致於書生都得放下書本投筆從戎。

左營萬年縣蓮池潭雖在戰亂中，依然風光明媚，

蓮潭旁的保安宮恭奉著保生大帝，保生大帝的座騎黑虎將軍化生為

保安宮前的石獅子，長年守護的蓮池潭旁的生民老百姓。

Song Explanation

Overture: Fire Lion Leads Us to Celebrate the Ceremony

In the late Ming Dynasty and early Qing Dynasty (around the middle of the 17th century), our ancestors sailed across the Taiwan Strait from Mainland China to Taiwan. Since there were many wars at that time, most people had a hard life and even scholars were forced to give up their pens and joined the army.

Even though the situation was chaotic, Lotus Lake, Zouying, Wannian Xian, was still a beautiful place, not influenced by wars. Bao-an Temple, located just by the side of the lake, was dedicated to Baoshengdadi, the Great Emperor Baosheng, whose companion, Black Tiger General, embodied the stoned lions sitting in front of the temple to guard the people living around the Lake.

第一樂章 傳說中的市集

投筆從戎的書生由於常常負責幫部隊補給，所以來到慈濟宮前的市集­，

有天就在書生補給時遇到了美麗的賣花女麗君，一見鍾情，

但由於有任務在身始終沒有說上話，直到有一天....

Movement 1: Bazaar in the Legend

Since the ex-scholar is responsible for the army’s supplies, he often goes to the bazaar in front of Ci-ji Temple. One day when he goes to the bazaar as usual, he encounters Li-jun, a beautiful flower seller in the bazaar, and falls in love with her immediately. However, because he is always on a schedule when he goes to the bazaar, he never has the chance to talk to Li-jun until one day…

第一樂章 第二景 相遇

書生"漢生"在市集上補給糧秣，遇到了美麗的賣花女"麗君"，

一見鍾情，但因軍令在身，所以只能望著心上人擦身而過，

操練過後休息片刻書生來到蓮潭旁，望著蓮潭美景"漢生"觸景生情

於是唱道....

Scene 2, Movement 1: Encounter

Han-sheng, the scholar responsible for the army’s supplies, encounters the beautiful flower seller, Li-jun. However, because he is on a schedule when he goes to the bazaar, he can only brush past his love. One day after drills, he sits by the lake, taking a rest and watching the beautiful lake scenery. The beautiful scenery stirs up Han-sheng’s feeling about Li-jun, so he sings…

第二樂章第二景　愛之橋

在歌聲中滿天彩霞結束一天的操練，"漢生"睡著了，"麗君"每天­賣花的地方

正是保生大帝廟前，廟前的保生大帝座騎黑虎將軍，每天看到"漢生­"與"麗君"

的相知相遇，便施法讓倒映在水中的滿天星斗幻化成一座愛之橋，讓­"漢生"

和"麗君"在橋上相遇。而隨著詠嘆調結束天也漸漸亮了，於是法術­漸漸消失，

書生一覺醒來發覺原來是做夢，但還是很開心。

第二天"漢生"趁辦糧補給機會，又與"麗君"相遇，

但這次"麗君"很害羞的對他微笑，兩人一聊發現原來昨天做了一樣­的夢，

而在兩人開心的談天的同時，場景則隨著火獅拉到蓮潭美景。

Scene 2, Movement 2: Love Bridge

The drills on the first day ends as the sun sets. Han-sheng falls asleep. The place where Li-jun sells flowers in the square is in front of Bao-an Temple. Black Tiger General, Baoshengdadi’s companion, sitting at the gate of the temple, sees Han-sheng and Li-jun every day and knows that they love each other. Therefore, the General casts a spell to transfer the stars reflected in the water onto Love Bridge where Han-sheng and Li-jun meet each other.

The spell dissipates gradually when the sky becomes brighter. In the early morning, Han-sheng wakes up and realizes that the meeting was just a dream, but he still feels very happy. The next day, Han-sheng encounters Li-jun again when he goes to the bazaar to purchase supplies. Surprisingly, Li-jun smiles shyly at him this time. So Han-sheng seizes the opportunity to talk to Li-jun. After the chat, they find that they had the same dream.

The scene changes to the beautiful scenery of Lotus Lake with the Fire Lion when they happily chat.

第三樂章 蓮火獅戲蓮潭

蓮潭美景當前，調皮的火獅黑武將軍也忍不住遊玩於蓮潭風光，一下­追著成

群的鯉魚，一下逗弄著帶水珠的荷葉，好不快樂。

Movement 3: Red Lion Has Fun at Lotus Lake

Fire Line, the embodiment of Black Tiger General, cannot help but play in this beautiful lake. He naughtily chases groups of carps one minute, and happily teases the lotus leaves with water droplets the next.

前奏曲Prelude 一觸即發

美好時光總維持不久，隨著戰事告急，清兵展開大規模的攻擊，

戰事一天比一天慘烈，台灣的年輕人死傷漸多。

第四樂章　攻砲城

山雨欲來，遠方傳來隱約的小鼓聲，戰爭的腳步悄悄到來。

隨著鼓聲越來越大合唱團象徵苦難的士兵和老百姓吶喊著，

戰爭的風暴終於全面展開，城牆也被砲火攻陷。戰火中砲聲隆隆，許­多年輕

的生命就這樣被飛舞的死神給帶走。

Movement 4:

The proverb says, “The rising wind forebodes the coming storm.” The rapid drumbeats from the distance seem to announce the coming of war. The drumbeats getting louder symbolize the hues and cries of the soldiers and people suffering. War finally breaks out and the walls of the city are stormed and captured by artillery. Amidst the rumbling of guns and cannons, Death ruthlessly claims the lives of many young people.

死神踏著由小提琴拉出的死亡之舞帶走生命，在這個樂章中，小提琴­的聲音

像狂歡的死神也像慢慢靠近的鐮刀，定音鼓則象徵猛烈的砲火和瘋狂­敲擊的

戰鼓。

死神並不分守城的士兵還是攻城的士兵，只要戰爭開始，死亡的味道­就會

瀰漫大地。

In the music of Death Dance played by the violin, Death takes away lives without remorse. In this movement, the sound of the violins is like Death frantic with joy, and is also like the sickle slowly getting closer; the sound of tympanis symbolizes the fierce fire and war drums beaten crazily.

Death doesn’t care if the soldiers who are attacking or defending. As long as war break out, the smell of Death will pervade the air and earth.

第四樂章第二景 麗君的安魂曲

"麗君"已經很久沒有見到"漢生"了，相思之情自不用多說，火獅­在一旁看著也

乾著急，結果在一次大規模作戰中，"漢生"和很多年輕人犧牲了生­命，傷心的

"麗君"在鋒火中想結束自己的生命。

Scene 2, Movement 4: Requiem for Li-jun

Li-jun has not met Han-sheng for a long time, so it’s needless to say that she misses Han-sheng. Fire Lion is anxious about this, but doesn’t know what to do. In a large-scale battle, Han-sheng and many young people die. Li-jun is very sad. As a result, she decides to commit suicide so she can meet Han-shang in the afterlife.

火獅雖然調皮但卻非常的慈悲，看到"麗君"和犧牲生命的年輕人們­，感到非常

心痛，於是當下發願如果可以燃燒自己，換取大家幸福的話祂願意這­麼做。

Although Fire Lion is naughty, he is very sympathetic. When he sees Li-jun and other young people die in the war, he feels much pain and is heartbroken. So he makes a wish at the moment that if he can burn himself for everyone’s happiness, he will do it without any hesitation.

於是，在一陣煙霧中火獅開始燃燒自己，並運用法力將所有人的苦難­一肩

扛起，透過燃燒帶到天上去，上天看到火獅這樣的犧牲奉獻，聯合蓮­潭周

圍的廟宇一齊施法，消除戰爭，一齊保佑這個叫萬年的縣萬年平安（­左營

古地名）。

In a burst of smoke, Fire Lion starts to burn himself and then casts a spell to shoulder everyone’s suffering. Through this way, Fire Lion brings suffering to the heavens. Fire Lion’s sacrifice touches the other gods around the lake, so they cast a spell together to end the war and bless Wannian Xian with safe and peaceful protection for ten thousand years. (Wannian, ten thousand years in English, is the old name of Zouying.)

在這個樂章裡，一開始定音鼓像海浪般掩沒(淹沒)整個充滿死亡的­戰場，但苦難

中管鐘依然在遠方響著提醒人們不要放棄希望，於是火獅開始變身燃­燒自

己。此時所有樂器一起演奏出序曲裡的旋律來呼應火獅施法，隨著火­獅的

火光越燒越高，場景也開始從原來的具象轉到形而上的抽象精神層面­，此

時一樣的旋律雖然如海潮拍打般不斷重複，但透過轉調來把場景的抽­象飛

騰感覺表現出來。

In the beginning of this movement, the sounds of the tympanis are like sea waves covering the entire battlefield full of death. However, even though the soldiers and people are suffering, the sounds of tubular bells in the distance still remind them not to give up hope.

Fire Lion starts burning himself. At this moment, all musical instruments are played together to echo Fire Lion’s sacrifice. As the flaming Fire Lion is getting bigger, the scene starts to transform from concrete images to an abstract metaphysical spirit. Although the melody repeats as the tide, the abstract feeling is presented through tune and scene swapping

接著所有音樂停止火獅也燃燒殆盡，一切來到黑暗，黑暗之中合唱團­唱出

無伴奏的愛與希望主題。

All music stops when Fire Lion is burned and the dark swallows everything. In the dark, a song with a theme of love and hope is sung by the chorus without accompaniment.

但是猶原....充滿愛.....

歌聲進行中樂器開始慢慢加入，

反覆呼應著主題。
